Would go again

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location is perfect!! Everything was wonderful except a miscommunication about part of the linens. If you have kids it is perfect for them, the private sound access was our favorite.

Obx every summer!

First property had some carpet bug infestation but management made sure we had a clean place within the same criteria. The second place was great! Not as beachy of a feel but was very clean and accommodating. Thank you to management who stayed to help make it a great vacation!

OBX First Timers

This property slept my family of 5 perfectly. The pool and beach access in the subdivision was a bonus. Easy access to local piers, shopping and eating. Less than 7 day stay didn’t allow for sheets/linens service but we made due.

Condition of the property: Unanswered mail sent to property manager:We checked in last night. HERE is what we found1. Musty smell throughout the house. Smells just like foreclosures2. Small stains in the carpet. They are not big but there are several throughout the carpet.3. The door to the deck us stuck, it doesn't lock. 4. The TV on the room with queen bed doesn't work. 5. The paper blinds on that room is cut in half horizontally so it doesn't cover the windows.6. The walls in the kitchen leading to the bedrooms are dirty and one of the corners started peeling off.7. The coffee maker is leaky, big time.There is more damage in the property but that is clearly wear and tear. Listing accuracy: Front beach means there is a canal in the back of the property where homeowners can dock their boats.The property is dark and outdated. Kitchen and bath flooring is old box store vinyl. Carpet although was vacuumed, needed washing, especially the entrance. Cabinets and trimming is 1980 oak with no maintenance done at least in years.Location: OK location for a trip taking 15-20 minutes of drive and finding parking to the beach.Property manager: They charged my card with 70 junk fees. Called to resolve, office manager screamed and hung up.Be aware: I was told that neither bedding linen or towels were included, so we got our own rather than paying an additional fee.

Take lots of towels for when it rains

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was in a great location. But when it rained the rain poured in 3 of the windows. Call the emergency number & was told they could not send someone out until the rain stopped. The water was coming in right over an electrical outlet but that did not seem to matter. I waited for someone to call me back n no one did until the next day after 1230 pm. Very disappointed with the maintenance people. I hope the owner gets the 3 windows fixed.

Most uncomfortable beds ever

The house was very nice, but they put these very uncomfortable beds in it. And the pillows are plastic so the pillowcases slip off them in the night and then you're lying on an uncomfortable bed on an uncomfortable plastic pillow. It's important to us to be able to sleep comfortably. We'll find something else for next year. If you come to this one, bring a mattress topper for everybody and a bunch of pillows! Also I will mention that the community pool is very nice, but the soundfront beach is a bust. It has these huge concrete stones underwater that you can't see, so we didn't know they were there. My granddaughter scraped her foot against one in the first 5 minutes and sliced the skin off her toe, so we had to leave. They need a warning sign. I think it could have been OK if we'd known to wear water shoes.

Wonderfull

Very clean and well furnished home and property. Lot's to do just staying at the house, my family enjoyed fishing and crabbing daily and having long walks around the neighborhood.

The only disadvantage too this place is if you want to go somewhere in Nags Head and such, it is a little bit of a drive. It is a separate little island all too itself.

A week at the beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Property was clean and spacious. The kitchen was well provisioned for cooking. The master bedroom was very large, as was the master bath. The laundry was in the master bath closet, which was convenient. The rental process was pretty simple.Two issues: the kitchen window leaked when it rained (and it rained every day) and the lock on the sliding doors to the deck did not lock (we pushed a chair in front of it)The tv is the living room and the queen BR had tube tvs. The one in the master was a flat screen. Billy's seafood was a great place to pick up fish for tacos and clam strips. The pool was a nice size and the community is very walking/biking friendly.

Reviewer Comments: The location was great --loved the canal view--close to the pool and beach--the house definitely was the right size for my family. loved the fact that the master bedroom had it's own floor but the a/c did not cool the master bedroom very well. Also the house needs siding or a paint job--loved the decks and the porch. Need to upgrade the TV's in the living room and queen bedroom to flat screen TV's.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were pleasantly surprised at just how cute the Beach Retreat was! It was in such a peaceful location in Colington Harbour. The house was extremely clean & while it is a dated home with dated appliances & such, it was absolutely perfect. The first thought that came to mind once we got inside, was cozy. It was cozy the entire duration of the stay. The outside could use a good staining & the porch railings need tightening (my husband is a general contractor, he notices stuff I never would) ... but you seriously can't beat the serenity, the spacious layout, the view & the relaxation that came with the house. All in all, it was perfect!

We needed the WIFI password and management was quick to respond. We couldn't have been happier with the rental.
