February respite in Sanibel

A wonderful week in beautiful Sanibel. The Moorings location on East Gulf was very convenient to golf courses and bike trails. A visitor would be pleased to have this as home base for fun on in Sanibel.

Wonderful

Very nice condos, convenient to beach and bicycle path. Pool was great. Very friendly and helpful staff.

From Andi's call to confirm, Bill making sure my room was ready, seeing Kari (the GM) and her son Carter at the Farmer's Market, and the wonderful " welcome back " from Tim, Pedro, and some of the owner's I've met over the years to the gorgeous beach, amazing weather, and nice room with a view, I can't wait to come back! Moorings is the best home away from home in paradise and has the nicest most helpful and professional staff. I love Jerry's supermarket and the restaurant there, Ron at Bait Box arranging a great 1/2 day fishing excursion with Capt. Matt Miller, and I wouldn't make it to or from without my friends at Island Taxi. Hope to be back in May.

Orr one bedroom rental was well appointed and had everything we heeded. The pool was great, as were the beach chairs and umbrella. We got a lot of shopping done and had dinner at a number of restaurants. The renovation is proceeding nicely and it looks great! It has been a Herculean effort by Kari and her staff, just outstanding!!!

Love Sanibel Moorings but NOT #132

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love Sanibel and Sanibel Moorings, having stayed there many times since our first visit in 1983. The staff, grounds, beach and pool are wonderful. However, we cannot say the same for unit #132. The carpet is cheap, worn out and dirty. The 2 swivel chairs on the deck are wobbly and frankly dangerous. A coffee table in front of the sofa would be nice. The bathroom hasn't been updated and probably is the original builder's installation. As the most expensive 1 bedroom apartment at the Moorings (Gulf view) you would expect the unit to be kept up-to-date, clean and comfortable. It isn't. We'll be back, but definitely not in #132.

Patches of unmatched paint on the walls. Unit needs a drying rack for wet suits. Noticed other units have one.

Labor Day getaway

Great property and fun time. However the no smoking policy was ignored By some guests and not really enforced as was the loud party atmosphere that was stated in an email I received would not be tolerated. Me and several other family members all rented in different building and experienced the same issue. We would definitely rent again but not for a holiday weekend.
