You can’t beat the location relative to the ocean and the back deck is amazing. The house itself was nice, as advertised, but could use some upgrades.

We had a great stay. The location is wonderful. Right on the water & in a quiet neighborhood. The patio was the star of the vacation. The beach was rocky but great. This is a comfortable beach house, not a beach mansion, so expect some quirks but that’s just part of the beach house experience. Stocked nicely. The sunsets are amazing! Would definitely stay here again.

Peaceful Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay here. Love the deck down to the beach, nearby restaurants, and especially the bike trails. Owners very pleasant to deal with.

Relaxing staying

Excellent location, the beach was full of interesting stones. Great place to see wildlife and get into the water, a kayak was available to use. At night you could see tons of stars and bonfires light up the beach. You do feel removed but not far from the town and shops, great for exploring. We enjoyed the house and all it’s charm. Everything was provided which was helpful. The sun deck was a great spot to see both the sunrise and sunset. July was extremely hot this year so an A/C unit would have been nice to have. Overall our stay was wonderful and would recommend.

Cute Cottage!

The cottage was exactly as described. We enjoyed the beautiful view from multiple locations on the property. We highly recommend bringing sand shoes. The beach is extremely rocky. Loved that we could have bonfires on the beach. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

A real beach retreat!

Imagine crossing a small railroad, make your way through a foresty neighborhood and crossing scenic salt marshes towards a low row of grass-covered sand dunes. One row of individual houses facing the sae awaits, all different, all classic simple New England. You have arrived. The birds singing, each one his own little tune, at night the chirping of crickets, the gentle rush of the waves when you are sitting on top of the dune, enjoy these sounds when you fall asleep. The house is very relaxed, not fancy, sand in the corners of the windows, the nights are dark with stars,the beach is lonely, just a few neighbors. Rocks on the beach, at low tide sand underfoot, for walks bring your flipflops. The amenities in the house are perfect, good stove, washing machine, there is no A/C (and it was warm when we visited), but for us that was part of the charm. All in all, we felt like being in a forgotten quiet corner in this busy world! Sandwich has shops, nice bakery for breakfast, supermarket, again not fancy but pleasantly quiet. Theo was very helpful and communications were easy. Recommended to those who appreciate this style, we loved it! Henk Tineke Hendrik, Amsterdam

Wonderful Cape vacation

Stayed with my two adult (sometimes!) daughters and my elderly mom. This cottage was perfect for us: loved being right on the beach and the outside deck with beach views was great for my mom on those days that she did not want to do the beach. Place was clean, cozy and all necessities provided.

First time visit to the Cape, but not the last.

As this was our first time to the Cape, we were a little uncertain what to expect. The property sits right on Cape Cod Bay, in East Sandwich, MA. The weather was perfect all week long, and the Bay was ideal for our kids to play in all day long - very small waves and sand bars during low tide. The kayak (supplied) was great, and we rented a Stand Up Paddleboard, which the kids used to improve their balance. It was very nice not having to worry about kids getting pummeled by big waves. The beach house was just as advertised, and a perfect size for our family of 5, which includes a couple of teenagers. We especially enjoyed the sunsets on the bay, along with a bonfire right on the beach. The nights were very comfortable, especially the bay breezes, and sounds of the water washing up on the shore. While in Sandwich, make a point of stopping for lunch at Beth's Bakery and Cafe - absolutely fantastic! They close at 3:00, so go early. We traveled to P-Town (similar to Key West, FL), Hyannis, and Falmouth. All great places, and uniquely enjoyable. We went on a whale watch in P-Town, which provided us with up-close views of several Humpback Whales - awesome! In Hyannis, we went on the Duckboat tour of the town and marina. If you are interested in JFK history, this is the place to visit. Falmouth reminded us of the Outer Banks of North Carolina - absolutely beautiful! Overall, I would recommend this property to anyone looking to experience the Cape, and have a relaxing vacation.

A little piece of Heaven

Even though the weather did not cooperate, we made the best of it in this amazing beach house. Everything you could possible need is there. We spent most of our time on the deck overlooking the private beach and when the weather got worse, we stayed in the porch enclosed room listening to the waves and enjoying some wine. The beach cottage was clean, stocked and the bed was extremely comfortable. I do not have one bad thing to say about this rental. I wish I could post pictures, because they would show how amazing the beach and area is. Thanks for the rental. -JS

Best Beach Vacation Ever!!!

This beach house is so cute, beautifully decorated, has absolutely everything you need, never ending hot water supply, great deck for reading or enjoying the ocean breezes, easy access to the water, they have thought of everything you might need and have provided it. We had 5 adults Sat thru Wed and added a 6th for Thur & Fri and we never felt cramped even though the house is small. The only downside: only 1 full bath for 5-6 people is difficult. A half-bath would have made it much better but we survived. To add to other reviews: Bobby Byrne's Pub, Bee Haven Restaurant, Marshland Restaurant all have fabulous food. Try the Lobster Bisque at Marshland. McDermott Glass Works (great glass bowing demo and nice pieces for sale). Overall, a wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone.

Perfect in every way.

We could not have asked for a more wonderful venue!. We are mountain people (Park City, Utah) who were looking for a beach getaway in the off-season. September was perfect -- skies were the right color, weather was beautiful. Everything about the cottage was spot-on. Well equipped, clean, comfortable, owners were tremendously responsive and responsible. Right on the beach!! Unfortunately we were both still working, so were happy to have the wifi. When we disconnected, we REALLY did, so have no idea whether the television worked, but knowing the owners, I'm sure it did. We mostly stayed in and used the bbq, but had some family down for a bonfire and had a wonderful time. Go see the Sandwich Glass Museum if you have time. You gotta love the twenty-something glass blower who calls Dale Chihuly a "hack"! Good fun!

Lovely, relaxing get-away!

Our first rental on the Cape couldn't have been better. The house is totally cute and comfortably furnished with sweet decorating touches that makes it feel like home. Lots of thoughtful details put in like WiFi access and a DVD player, movies, games, coffee maker - everything you need. Great to be able to walk out your door and be on the beachfront. We enjoyed every minute. The owners are so helpful and very responsive to any questions. Sandwich is a great, family-friendly area and there is easy access to all points on the Cape. I almost hate to give a great review because I want to hide this little gem!

Hidden Haven a beautiful home away from home!

This home away from home is immaculate and the setting is just beautiful. Easy to get to only two exits over the bridge and you are right on your own private beach! Bonfires allowed. Lots of great amenities! All Linens provided, kayak, beach chairs, grill with big seating area, outdoor shower, multiple areas to sit with family and enjoy your surrondings. I highly recommend this cottage as we have enjoyed our stay two years in a row. Places to go: Best Ice cream ever is at the Ice Cream Sandwich right on 6A, we also enjoyed Amari for Italian food and woodgrilled pizza. The owners of this home are super accomadating and add nice little extra touches to make you feel at welcomed. Can't wait to go back! Joanne Reks

The Perfect Beach Cottage!

This beach cottage is fabulous! My family and I had a wonderful beach vacation here. Before arriving I was concerned because Sandwich isn't on the lower Cape where many people go for a beach vacation, but it turned out the be the absolute best location! I felt like I was far from home yet I didn't have to fight traffic for hours coming to or leaving Sandwich. It is the best of both worlds! The house is very well kept, tastefully decorated, and in a beautiful serene location. On our first morning we all commented on how comfortable the beds were, the sheets were soft, the mattresses cozy, and even the futon in the sun room felt great to sleep on! The beach just outside the door is beautiful and very peaceful. Everything you need for vacation is provided. My kids enjoyed playing with the beach toys and we all had fun using the kayak. There are a variety of restaurants nearby and a grocery store just 3 miles away. If you like seafood, try Seafood Sams, it's fantastic. I am definitely going to be staying here for many years to come, I loved it!

BEST BEACH VACATION EVER!

Our family LOVES this cottage & its location! We have rented it for a few years in a row, it is adorably decorated & well equipped for all of our needs. Kids love the loft & the sunroom makes a great third bedroom with the comfy futon. Outside there is plenty of space to gather & soak up the view, bbq, etc. Sandwich is beautiful & has a lot to do, there is no need to leave town as it has it all. The absolute best part is the private beach as your front yard, you just cant beat that, its so beautiful & relaxing!!! This cottage is a gem and I would recommend it to anyone who loves the beach. The owners are a pleasure to deal with and always very helpful!

So glad to be back at Hidden Haven!

This was our third time staying at Hidden Haven and it has never disappointed. The cottage is just lovely and well laid out. The location cannot be beat - private beach front with beautiful views and spectacular sunsents and not too far if you want to take in the sightseeing of the Cape. It has the perfect mix of charm with function. And is maintained to our high standards of cleanliness and convenience. Everything you need to enjoy your beach stay is supplied has been carefully considered. We highly recommend this for all types of families who want a real chance to relax and enjoy beach time together! Already looking forward to our next stay.

Fantastic Beach House in East Sandwich

This beach house was the perfect place for us to spend our week on Cape Cod (our first-ever visit to the Cape). The owners have made very efficient use of the space and it was immaculately clean when we arrived. There was plenty of room for my wife and I and our 2 children aged 10 and 13. They loved sleeping in the loft! The owners have thought of everything, and all the things one needs to enjoy one's time on the beach are provided. Our kids really enjoyed kayaking along the shore, and we all enjoyed swimming every day we were there. It is a short drive into the town of East Sandwich where there is great grocery shopping. It's also a very short hop to get onto the the main highway along the Cape, and we made several trips to places such as Providence, Hyannis, and the fantastic beaches at Head of the Meadows and Nauset. Great location, great beach, and great owners to deal with.......we highly recommend this place for a vacation on Cape Cod, and would definitley recommend it to friends and family.

The Family Experience in Cape Cod

Just loved our experience.... The house was our home away from home... I was a bit nervous that the house would be to small for a party of six, but soon found out that it was just right.... Not to big and not to small. We were able to relax and not worry about the amenities that were already provided.... If you are looking for a town in Cape Cod that offers privacy and close to all attractions, I would recommend East Sandwich.
