House is right on the water. Primary issue was there were 2 smoke detectors. One had no battery and the other the battery not connected. Notified owner 1st nite. He was most concerned of seeing if housekeeper had noticed. We had difficulty every time with lock on door. House wasn't very clean.

The couch was great, very clean and comfortable. TVs and appliances all worked well and were in good condition. The bed was very comfortable with nice sheets. The covered porch was great for us because we had a rainy stay. It is located close to all of the things we wanted to do and there's great food options close. Being off season, the area was quiet and we had a restful stay. The host was great with communication and responded very quickly when we had issues. We had a few issues. The furnace blower would not turn on, so there was no heat. He told us they had space heaters in the back so we got one out and it heated the space well. There were no batteries in the smoke detectors and one detector missing, necessary for using space heaters. There were batteries in a drawer we were able to use. The key code wouldn't work, so the housekeeper drove in and gave us a physical key. It took about 80 minutes total, so that was acceptable. The housekeeper didn't take good care of things inside. Sink basin was full of lime scale and the toilet had algae in it from inactivity. There was 1/2 of a roll of single ply toilet paper. It was lumpy and stained, like it had set in a wet space for a long time, and no more available. Only one wash cloth. Shower was leaking and wall was rotting/molding. Solo stove missing.The owner needs to know he needs better help, since he is not locally managing it.We overpaid for an unkept property and not offered any discount/refund.

Bad Ozarks First Impression

We arrived to a very dirty unit with trash overflowing the outside bin and scattered on the ground. Carpet was filthy and the cold air return for AC and heat was caked with dust and mold. We notified the owner of the trash(several times) as we had animals in the trash at night, and it was never removed for our entire 4 day stay. Also had to have owner call plumber on the 1st day because the sewer system was not working properly and wouldn't drain or flush. Parking was not as represented thru direct contact with owner as we were traveling with 2 vehicles and a 7 x 14 trailer. We had to park our truck and trailer on the main road in someone else's lot and they were not happy about it. Would not recommend this until owner takes more responsibility for unit as a host.

Hello Lori I’m sorry you felt this way about your stay. We want every guests stay to be as great as it can possible be. As for the trash, they only pick up once a week every Tuesday. I tried to call for an extra dump for you guys but they were to busy. The plumbing issue was addressed as soon as you told me. I’ve had other guests with trailers a lot bigger than 7x14 park behind the house including my own that is 10x30. Therefore, I thought it wouldn’t be a problem for you guys. I’m very sorry you guys weren’t happy with your stay. I would love for another chance to make it up to you guys.
