Lakeside retreat

At the Lakeside retreat you can experience Florida from its most beautiful side. Located directly on a small lake, turtles, otters and of course many species of birds can be observed directly from the tropical garden. Short excursions into the lake landscape are possible with the in-house pedal boat or canoe. Surrounded by dense palm hedges, the landscaped garden offers a lot of privacy and the pool invites you to cool off.
There are wonderful beaches and numerous shopping opportunities within a 15-minute drive. The sponge diving town of Tarpon Springs with the sponge docks and the charming downtown is also worth seeing. Tampa Airport is just 40 minutes away.

Christian's home was more than we expected. Very clean and neat with all the extra amenities. The highlight of staying there was meeting Christian's Mom (Trudy). What a delightful, heartwarming, hardworking classy lady. Our fondest memory of staying in New Port Richey, Florida is Trudy.

Location was perfect for the event we were in town for. The yard, while overgrown due to the amount of rain FL is getting, was great for my dog. Check-in, out was super easy. Everything was comfortable.

Wonderful house and host

We were so very happy with our stay. Our host was responsive and helpful, although we didn’t need to contact her much because the house was so clean and setup so nicely. Would stay again for sure!

What a peaceful spot. All the touches are so amazing. The kitchen is lacking for nothing, the back yard area is the best, we saw so much wild life. The pool is so private and sitting on the dock for sunset is beautiful! Thank you for sharing your lovely home!

Nice Home!

Our stay was amazing! 5 of us (incl 1 teen) and we all had am amazing time. The pool was clean and refreshing, the home was clean and stated comfortably cool the entire time. The home is well stocked with everything you could possibly need. My only recommendation would be to put a TV in the 2nd bedroom. Other than that, perfect!

Roomy and just right for us

Came to town to visit family. Needed to find a nice inland property after beach house reservation was canceled due to Helene. This place was perfect. The pool area and dock were a great. Well stocked and very clean. Convenient location.

Wonderful stay

The property is adorable and inviting. The home was filled with everything you could need and more. The pool was wonderful, and sunrise/sunsets on the dock are gorgeous. Very clean and good location with close by shopping and resteraunts. Check in was a breeze. We booked after loosing power from Milton and the hosts were very responsive and so kind and helpful. Would 100% recommend and stay again.

Great Location

Our family attended a college graduation in Tampa and this was the perfect location. Away from the large city traffic, but close enough to drive in if we needed. Lots of shops and food choices nearby. We especially loved the pool and it was great taking early morning walks in the neighborhood (which has sidewalks). Everything was as pictured. Would definitely stay here again.

Just a lovely little gem. Roomy yet cozy. Clean, like I keep my home. Pool was wonderful. The backyard and water front are very nicely done. Very private. Sun porch is a great spot to look over the decks and seating and pool. Kitchen is very well equipped. We didn't need for any appliance or utensil. Outdoor kitchen was great. Plenty of paper products in kitchen and bath. Soaps. Towels, blankets, Etc. Laundry room is a bonus and very nice. Highly recommend this property. The owners are super sweet and very easy to work with. Price was fantastic. I couldn't rent a hotel room for that price and there certainly would not be privacy at a hotel! Thanks to the owners!

Beautiful!

Christian and his mom were wonderful and great about responding to any questions we had! The property is beautiful, the beds are comfy, the house gives you plenty of privacy in the back! The landscaping in the backyard is gorgeous and tropical! The dock was a bonus because my husband and brother were able to catch bass back there! All in all a wonderful little spot!

Owners went above and beyond to accommodate us last minute. Friends coming in town for an event and storm damaged the place they were booked. This one opened up and helped out very last minute. We appreciate everything. K9 Jerry Lee approved and gives 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have rented villa-type properties for over 20 years and, every so often, we get to stay in a place that is very "special" for its own reasons.We have stayed in properties of all shapes and sizes but our favourites have always been those in which we feel totally relaxed ...almost like being at home. Lakeside Retreat is such a place.Situated north west of Tampa, it is just a few miles from the fabulous beaches at both Clearwater and St. Pete - if you love miles of soft, pure white sand, then these are a must-visit.But if you don't fancy the drive, then out back is a good-sized (heated if required), very private swimming pool, with tables, chairs, sunloungers and barbeque. A path leads down to a jetty by the lakeside, where you can sit on swivel chairs to watch the awesome sunsets ...and the local alligators. No, we wouldn't advise a "quick dip" in the lake!Inside you'll find two very well-proportioned double bedrooms, one with an en-suite, a lounge and a dining/kitchen area which is equipped with everything (and we do mean "everything"), including not one, but two coffee machines!Leading off the kitchen is a lovely conservatory, which is a perfect place to wrap yourself up in a towel, to sit and after you get out of the jacuzzi.However, what REALLY made it for us was meeting the Hosts' mum, who lives just 5 minutes away and looks after the property on his behalf. What an amazing, lovely, helpful person she is. Thank you Trudy!

Peaceful and Luxurious Lakeside Vacation Spot

We have enjoyed our stay at the Lakeside Retreat immensely. It is a fantastic destination to relax and serves as a perfect basecamp for adventures in the beautiful surroundings. The house is very spacious, very clean, and beautifully furnished. It comes with all the conveniences you can think of: a well-equipped kitchen, a gorgeous screened patio, a beautiful pool, an outdoor kitchen and shower, and many more perks. The backyard is breathtaking, with amazing plants and many lovely details. The property is connected to a deck on the canal/lake, where we enjoyed many evenings watching birds and turtles, and savoring the sunsets. Christian, the owner, was super friendly and responsive. He was truly determined to ensure that we had an amazing experience. We're looking forward to our next stay at the Lakeside Retreat!

Summer Vacation

Our stay at the lakeside retreat was everlasting! The host was very welcoming & thorough with providing details for our stay beforehand. Our kids enjoyed the pool and outdoor lounge areas every single day we stayed. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and there was great convenience to the shopping markets. We also loved the paddle boat and since we brought our fishing rods we even caught a couple baby fish and released them back into the lake. We saw many turtles and other wildlife and enjoyed a nice morning walk around the neighborhood. The only suggestion we can make it adding a tv to the living room area and 2nd bedroom and also ensuring the other two tvs are constantly working. The guest bedroom also needs an updated mattress. We appreciate everything that was offered and would definitely recommend this property for families with children.

Great location, beautiful layout, absolutely enjoyed being outside to help assist with the garden. The host, Christian, is fantastic and extremely accommodating. The location was easy to find. & Check-in was such a breeze. And we slept comfortably. The kitchen had EVERYTHING stocked. Although no keurig… wasn’t sure what kind of coffee to bring bc we couldn’t tell by pics online Oh the grills outside are a delight. I unfortunately didn’t get to use them because there is so much to do in the area. The beds were super comfortable and we definitely could have had 2 more stay with us. The pullout couch is in another area of the house (I believe it use to be the garage) that could be made private so that early risers wouldn’t disturb whoever slept in there. That was not clear on the app. House can accommodate 3 couples 6. Now if you have 5 folks (1 couple and 3 singles) which could have been my situation but 1 couldn’t come and it worked out that the other one brought his gf so they didn’t stay. But if they did… I wouldn’t know what to do. My husband and I took the master… and my MIL took the 2nd br. There’s only one couch, and it’s a pullout… so I could have put my nephew and gf on pullout but if cousin came… . It wouldn’t have worked. Originally when contemplating I imagined that someone could pass out in sun room, but during these months forget about it, it’s way too hot! Overall… I was satisfied. And if in the area again, I’ll b in contact! It’s homey.

My mother Trudy lives in Florida since 1991 and she will be around to assist you, if assistance is needed. If you are lucky, she may invite you to an original homemade german dinner ;)
