Gorgeous 1-acre hillside wooded retreat, newly renovated in Leelanau County wine country, with no close neighbors. Walk 6 minutes to the public dock and boat launch on Lake Leelanau to swim, kayak, and paddle board, and sunbathe, next to the family-owned Paradise Cove, with outdoor lakeshore dining and bar, ice cream stand, party store, restroom, and cozy RV campground. This bright home boasts large windows viewing flower gardens, funky folk art, and a wide range of wildlife. Birder heaven! R-e-l-a-x on the screened porch with a swing & rocking chair. Dine & grill on the deck. Cross the creek-bed footbridge to the Japanese garden's wood swing. 2 miles to Farm Club restaurant, brewery, garden, market, & farm: FarmClubTC.com. 3 miles to the paved 27-mile long TART stroller/bike/walking trail. 15 minutes to Traverse City, 25 minutes to Empire and the Lake Michigan coast, 15 minutes to artsy Suttons Bay for shopping and dining, 40 minutes to ski Crystal Mountain or Homestead. Parking for 3-4 cars or a boat/jet ski trailer. This art teacher's home follows the "yard art installation" tradition, with funky found objects throughout the winding paths under strings of lights. Centrally located for exploring wineries, shopping, Old Mission Peninsula or Point Betsie lighthouses, and fascinating regional history. The house is circa 1902, and was moved from across the street! Overall the property was perfect for us as we had a family wedding nearby at Timberlee Hills.. the Host was very reaponsive.

Wonderful Cozy Home Full of Winsome Character

This was the perfect weekend retreat for my wife, 3 month old and I. Excellent host, from the point of booking she regularly checked in to make sure all needs were met. The home has all of usual needed amenities, including a delicious surprise in the fridge! The property feels very private, while still being close to all the typical Traverse City destinations. 5/5 stars!

Wonderful host!

We had such a lovely time at this rental! The host has excellent communication skills and was on top of every detail. Such a charming home with a great sense of style! Very relaxing and comfortable we would definitely definitely come back!

Wonderful, peaceful and comfortable

I love this place. Peace and quiet yet close to the sand dunes and Traverse City. It was a great place to do some writing, and just enjoy the quiet. The host is so helpful and responsive. It has everything I needed.

Two night stay at the end of Summer

Even though I had looked at the pictures of this property online, it was truly amazing! Very easy to get to (and Jules gave us detailed directions with the knowledge that some apps do not take you to the correct location. I used google maps and had no issues)., Text back with plenty of room for a boat or other watercraft behind. Walkable to the lake— We had every intention of walking across the road to a restaurant that had an outdoor tiki bar, but unfortunately, it was closed during our stay. The cottage had so many different cute little touches! The handwritten note left for us was amazing. Great communications when I was looking for extra sheets for the futon, We were obviously tired. It was a very obvious location! We love the screened in porch off the front and the second day. I was able to sit off the back deck since it stopped raining. The description of the different nuances that come with an older home, very detailed and helpful, as well as a little bit of humor thrown in! Everything has been recently remodeled down to the granite kitchen countertops, and bathroom. Not one, not two but three choices of coffee makers! I was in heaven. The bathroom was small, but we made it work even with three older teenagers and two adults! You must take some time to walk through the acreage surrounding the cottage. Such cute little accents all around! Since the restaurant was not open across the road, we went to Cedar Tavern a few miles away. Very good. Thank you so much!

Enjoyed our stay

We enjoyed our stay in this quiet, charming location just outside of Traverse City. It is convenient to shopping, hiking, and disc golf and provided a relaxing place to recharge at the end of the day.
