Summary: Welcome to our suburban haven, just minutes from the Chiefs and Royals stadiums. Recently renovated, this 3-bedroom home offers a sunroom with dedicated workspace, and all the amenities of home. Perfect for unwinding after your KC adventures. The Space: This property consists of 3 bedrooms, with an office that doubles as a 4th bedroom with a daybed. Clay Roof Inn has all of the amenities of home, high speed internet, and a dedicated workspace for you workers on-the-go. Two of the bedrooms have TV's plus a large TV in the living room, all of which have complimentary Netflix. There's also a sunporch with seating, for enjoying your morning coffee or just to get some fresh air. Plenty of off street parking, and a large yard!
The only shared space with the downstairs unit is the driveway, however, spaces are clearly marked that are exclusive to each unit :)
Guest Access: Entry is through the back door, and it is keyless entry. You will be generated your own personal access code the day of your check in. Make sure to refer to your Check in instructions for specific details and other helpful info.
The Neighborhood: This is a safe, quiet neighborhood, consisting mostly of families and older residents. The neighbors are very friendly and supportive of our Short Term Rental. So we aim to keep good relationships with everyone!
Getting Around: I-70 is only a couple minutes away, so you have quick, easy access to all things Kansas City. The joke in Kansas City is that everything is 20 minutes away. That rings true for this property as downtown, Worlds of Fun, the KC Zoo, and many other attractions are only a short drive from this location!
Other Things to Note: KC Zoo 15 min Various movie theaters, pool halls, many others places of entertainment nearby.
**This neighborhood is very quiet and tucked away off the highway. All neighbors have been in their houses for a very long time. For this reason, we do not allow parties or gatherings. The maximum number of guests is all that is allowed at any given time and any person sleeping must be accounted for in your booking. Quiet hours begin at 9pm. After this time all noise must be contained within the house. **
SMOKING OF ANY KIND IS STRICTLY PROHIBBITED INSIDE!!! We have locations outside and away from the entries where smoking is allowed. An automatic $150 extra cleaning fee will apply if there is any evidence of smoking inside. This includes, but not limited to ashes, butts, smell, or obvious attempts to cover up smoking.
LOCAL INSECT DISCLOSURE: We feel very silly to have to include this in our listing, but this is one of those cases where a single incident causes a warning issued to all: Insects, arachnids, and bugs are common in the Midwest. Some you may see include flies, mosquitos, bees or wasps, spiders, ticks, ants, and a plethora of other common creepy crawlies. Sometimes these creatures get inside through no fault of ours or yours. Please keep in mind that we do quarterly treatments on all our properties, and should one of these bugs venture inside we do not take responsibility.
Local Weather Disclosure: We are located in Kansas City, the heart of the Midwest. Weather can be unpredictable. Storms of all kinds have been known to pop up at any time. We are not responsible for power outages, downed tree branches, or the condition of the streets during winter. (We will always shovel and salt our driveway and walkway).

It was a great stay. The house is well supplied and set up nicely. The host was very communicative and answered questions promptly. The neighborhood was nice. The downstairs neighbors were friendly and helpful too. Looking forward to staying again in the fall, hopefully

The neighborhood is nice and the house is charming. Two of the bedrooms are up some very steep stairs so be mindful if booking with small children or anyone with mobility issues. Also I didn’t remember it saying there was another unit below or that there were noise monitors so read the listing carefully. Overall a nice stay close to the stadiums.

Clean place with lots of room and close to everything
Very clean, bed was very comfortable. Plenty of room for my K-9s. Enough dishes for a small family more people would need additional place settings. I would recommend a knife sharpener as well.

family trip
Very cute house. A little problem with having the wrong address initially, but she answered my phone call promptly. Nice off street parking. There were not enough wash clothes for the 4 people we had said were coming. Wish there were more blankets than just the comforters. It worked good for us overall. We would stay again.

Scam
The stay would have been great if we were informed upfront that there were people renting out the basement during our stay .Nowhere in the description did it mention that which is horrible advertising. Once the stay was completed I was notified that a fan/light in the living room was damaged.These were false claims and an obvious scam to try and acquire extra charges .I wouldn’t recommend staying there to anyone!!!

Yes, Our small business, how we provide for our family is a scam...... Logan, you had a large, loud group. Our noise monitor (required to have by the city of Independence) went off many times during your stay. We never mentioned it to you, giving you the benefit of the doubt since your group was large. Our ceiling fan light was very obviously broken by someone in your group. We have pictures from the last cleaning before your stay and the light was not broken. It was also broken in such a way that the light was constantly on. You never once complained about that which I'm sure you would have had you not caused the damage. And btw, it is in our listing that this is a house with 2 seperate units. Had you read the entire description you would have seen that. My advice for any future stays would be to read the listing before booking, communicate with your host, and take ownership of any damages caused. Or just skip staying in homes and rent a hotel. That might better suit you.

We lived in this neighborhood for a number of years. We love the area, and it is close to all things KC. Great highway access, and tons of good dining, bar hopping, and other attractions are just a short drive or Uber away!

This is a very cool looking old stone house with a clay roof. We just did a full remodel and updated it to modern standards and finishes. We are very proud of the work we did here, and can't wait to get feedback from our awesome guests!
