Perfect for Large Group Stays ~ Kona Forest House

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful property in the forest on the slopes of Hualalai just seven miles from the heart of Kona Town. This is a combination of a 3 bd/1 ba house PLUS a 2 bd/1 ba guest suites just across the driveway. This can comfortably accommodate 10-12 people with space to spread out in nearly 3,000 sq ft. Perfect for group travel, family gathering, etc.

This listing includes the two-story guest house we call "Kona Cloud Forest Guest House" PLUS a two-bedroom unit across the driveway we call "Aloha Suites". Combined total of nearly 3,000 square feet.

Guest House Details:
The ground floor entrance includes a full size bathroom, kitchen, washer/dryer, sitting and dining area. Walk up a full flight of stairs to find three bedrooms and a living room with lovely garden and ocean views. This is perfect for a family vacation or group looking for a cool oasis in an ancient Hawaii forest setting, surrounded by native plants and birds. You have the option of using either the indoor or outdoor shower for a full tropical experience.

We offer an outdoor seating/dining area which includes a full size hammock, dining table and fire table (*propane for an optional fee).

With three queen beds and a pull out sofa bed, this unit can comfortably accommodate families of 6 to 8 guests.

Aloha Suites Details:

This is a 2 bedroom, one bathroom unit with private entry. This entire unit would be designated for the booking guests.
The entry door leads into Room 1. Room 1 is spacious with a king size bed, and tv sitting area featuring Hawaiian artwork. An air mattress is available upon request before check-in.

There is a small counter with a microwave, mini fridge, toaster and coffee maker— the same as would be offered in a standard hotel room.

Room 2 is across the hallway featuring a king size bed with a closet space and a desk.

This rental unit has one full spacious, private bathroom.

One dedicated parking stall directly in front of the aloha suites is appointed for you.


This is a hosted rental with our family also on this three acre property. You will likely see us only coming or going in the driveway. We are surrounded by forest reserve so you will be surrounded by the cool dreamy mists of Hualalai mountain and the sounds of nature, including birds and coqui frogs.

This is an opportunity to stay in the only "cloud forest" in the USA! Unlike rainforests that are typically muggy and humid, cloud forests are at cooler elevations and often shrouded in a dreamlike mist. You are surrounded by a lush Hawaiian forest featuring awapuhi, heliconia, orchids, guava, avocado, and lehua. For guests

***Mountain Thunder Coffee Farm is nearby with free guided tours. Learn about this 100% Private Reserve coffee while also enjoy a walking tour and lava tubes.

***Nearby is Pa’ina Place, a special event venue which hosts weddings and private parties in a garden like setting.

***Kaloko Cloud Forest Guided Walking Tours are a short drive away.

*** Beach lovers can soak up the sand and surf and retreat to a cool forest within minutes. King Kamehameha Beach and Kailua Pear is 6.5 miles from our home and Pine Trees surfing beach is 8.7 miles away. Costco is directly down the hill and 6 miles away. You would never guess youʻre so centrally located, while in the cool serene of a native forest.

We highly recommend you have a rental car, there isn't any public transport nearby and the home is located in Hawaiian forest. A dedicated parking area is specifically designated for guest parking.


For your safety as well as the privacy of the host familyʻs children and their pets, please do not approach the main home. Feel free to enjoy the fenced guest garden area behind Aloha Suites and the forest path behind the outdoor shower. Feel free to enjoy the front yard area with lemons, guavas, tangerines, avocados only if you plan to eat them.

In the hallway of the Aloha Suites there is an inaccessible door connected to the main home office/garage and it remains double locked on both sides at all times .

Early check in requests are passed along to the contracted cleaning team and an extra $25 fee will enable guest to check in up to four hours before the regular check in time (3 pm). Please understand this is a fee that goes directly to the cleaners while requiring them to do the same quality job in less time. Please notify us at least 48 hours in advance if you would like to request this and we will make arrangements.

A STARTER KIT of complimentary supplies are provided for you to get settled (2 rolls of toilet paper, 3 dishwasher pacs, 3 laundry pods, napkins, garbage bags). Guests will need to provide any additional items they need during their stay. A convenience mart (Matsuyama’s Store) is one mile north on the main highway.

Please remove shoes and remove ALL sand from feet and inside swimwear before entering the unit. No parties, no smoking, registered guests only on property. The outdoor shower is a perfect solution for this! Please have all guests review the house rules and manual. Mahalo!
