Great House & Fabulous Location!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful house! Right on the beach. Very peaceful & relaxing! Beautiful views! Well equipped & nicely decorated. Loved the location. Was an easy under two mile trip into the downtown Sullivan's Island which was quiet & very nice. We were always able to get into restaurants & loved the Co-Op coffee shop. We were able to play tennis on the very nice public tennis courts & there was a really nice playground as well. Found a problem with the dryer the day we got there & Island Realty very promptly responded & fixed it. Only suggestion I would have is to provide life jackets with the kayaks which the home owner was so nice to allow use of. Very nice house!

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beautiful view. House run down. Needs paint, updating, new dishwasher and dryer. Lacked basic supplies, ie. a few things to clean with, pillow cases for extra pillows, salt and pepper.....I've rented many houses and have never experienced this. When the tide comes in there is no beach in front but you can go next door. Can't walk on beach very far without cutting over to the road because of rocks on both sides.

Some of the outdoor furniture was rusted and held together with duct tape making is unusable. Maintenance quickly provided new chairs.

Great Family Vacation

The low tides enabled the kiddies to play in the water like a swimming pool as well as kayak out to the sand bar where there was lots of wildlife to see. Restaurants galore and two great ice cream shops. Would return!

Great Beach House

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home has awesome views and is well equipped. At low tide you have a saltwater pond...huge and better than a swimming pool. We paddle boarded and kayaked daily just 200 ft from our awesome decks. At high tide the kids had a ball riding much fun.

Reviewer Comments: This house has continued to deteriorate over the past 5 years or so. We had been told that the property would undergo a major renovation before our arrival this year, but it had not. The kitchen is in desperate need of an upgrade including a bigger frig, new floors and gas range. Needs to be bigger. The kitchen table is a waste of space. That area could be used for enlargement. The kitchen island impedes ones ability to move around in such a small space and should be taken out. The pots and pans should be thrown out and replaced with a few usable ones that have fitting lids plus provide some glass mixing bowls with lids -- large and small sizes for storage too. Living room is kind of small. Can you move the washer and dryer to the master closet and knock out that wall to expand the usable space for living or kitchen? Upstairs shower doors need replaced. Deck needs replaced or major repair -- boards are loose and rough. Need new queen mattresses upstairs and cotton blankets for the beds. Recommend two full size beds in bedroom behind kitchen rather than the existing one bed -- like the kids room upstairs. Spray for spiders and roaches. Explore possibility of rearranging living space to put tv over mantel and knock out small wall between fireplace and master bedroom.

Great day at the beach!

Those who don't want to get on the sand or stay out of the heat can watch all the fun from the living room. The house is a little dated and not very fancy, but it served the purpose we were needing. I highly recommend this location but don't expect 5 star accommodations.

Such A Disappointment!!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location was the only thing good about this vacation rental. Upon arrival there was a maintenance man in the property and we had issues the entire stay....from the AC not working on the first floor to the dishwasher door falling off...we were on a first name basis with the maintenance dept. If you are considering this home, DON'T! The description of the property is a little misleading. Pay close attention to the TV information as 2 of the 5 bedrooms have NO TV. The beach access is not the stairs that you see in the picture. The property needs major repair....the floor in the kitchen has several weak spots that we were afraid to walk on. Refrigerator is old and all the meat that we purchased on day one was lost due to the time it took the refrigerator to cool down. Not a good rental experience for us!!

Nn-renters must know it is a rental - we had people using the beach right in front of the house - I mean, up close and personal - all weekend. We had assumed it would be private. The house was in disrepair. Sliding door and windows off tracks and warped. Black mold on kitchen floor. Dishwasher smeared debris over dishes/glasses - not sanitary. By the end of weekend we all felt as if we were living in a germ filled house. On the surface (upon arrival) it seemed great but living in it grew uncomfortable.

Beautiful View / Poor Property Condition

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sitting on the deck of the house was an amazing experience and the views were breathtaking. Once you turned around to enter back into the house, it was a completely different story. The carpets were stained and filthy, and I was nervous to have my two year old sitting on them and playing. They appeared to be pet stains, but were all throughout the home. The kitchen floor felt like we were going to fall through at any moment and the windows were stuck and would barely open. The TV in the main room didn't work (maintenance sort of fixed it) and there were no shades in the main room to provide a little bit of sun cover during the day. No matter how much we ran the air conditioner it was uncomfortably warm in the main room. The curtains in the main bedroom were held together by a chip clip and weren't big enough to cover the entire window, which didn't provide any privacy. Finally, the finishes were extremely old and outdated for the price of the stay.

Great location, House needs work

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a lovely vacation and the location of the home couldn't be better. However the house had some major problems. There is a large dip/ hole in the kitchen floor which seems very dangerous. We put a wooden board over it to keep people from twisting their ankle or breaking through. The house had not been thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival and two of the bathrooms had shower areas that reeked of mold and had visible mold growing in the grout. One bedroom had forks, a coke bottle and a napkin under a bed from previous guests. Clearly the cleaning services leave something to be desired. One day it rained and the windows and windowsills leaked water to the inside of the house. We mopped it up but probably not great for long term water damage. A few of the upstairs chairs are broken at the bottom (missing wheels) and you might not notice until you sit down which again could be a dangerous hazard. The location is so nice but the house really needs some serious cleaning, updating and general renovations to make it a great property.

Some of the deck furniture is broken, i.e. old plastic and cheap chairs breaking up. Further there is a spot on the kitchen floor that feels as if you might fall through. Here are suggestions in priority order: need a larger refrigerator or an additional refrigerator; replace the downstairs carpet and stairway (worn and stained) and the kitchen vinyl (torn); new mattress of upstairs bedroom over master bedroom); replace worn boards on deck.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: great location. Love the house and layout. Was there for daughter's wedding at Stella Maris church. Perfect for two families. Kitchen was surprisingly beat up for a house like this. Also came home with lots of bites. Bedbugs? Surprised they didn't ask us to remove the mattress pad or quilt or laundering - just the sheets and pillow cases.

Beautiful view

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house has an amazing view of the ocean with large windows and a deck to enjoy the scenery. The bedrooms are spacious and nice. The living room is a little small but adequate. The kitchen could use some updating but is functional with everything needed for a week stay. One of the best parts of this house is it's location on what seems like a semi-private beach that is easy to access with calmer waters due to the inlet that it is situated on which was great for our young children who could easily play in the calm waters.
