Stillwater 5 bedroom lodge up to 19 guests
The three-level log lodge offers an open kitchen living and dining space with direct access to the wrap-around porch, ½ bath, and bedroom with private bath on the main level. Upstairs you'll find 2 bedrooms, a sleeping loft and shared full bath. The lower level features a bunk room, large adjoining bath, and entertainment space. Build a fire in the fire pit, play a game of corn hole, or shoot some pool in between enjoying all of the attractions Hocking Hills has to offer. Designed by owners Kevin and Julie Claus, this lodge provides the best home base for up to 19 on your trip to the hills.

We’re thrilled to welcome you to Cedar Grove! To ensure every guest enjoys a safe, comfortable, and memorable stay, please take a moment to review our policies. These guidelines help us care for our property and keep things fair for everyone. By booking, paying, or staying with us, you agree to these terms.

Reservations & Fees
Your rental rate is based on your dates, cabin/lodge, number of guests (all ages count), pets, and any add-ons. Please let us know if any of this changes before your arrival.
* Guests & Visitors: Each unit has a maximum occupancy. No extra visitors or overnight guests are allowed unless approved in advance. Approved daytime visitors are $20/person/day and may also incur a $500/day event fee. Unauthorized visitors/guests will result in fees plus a $75 penalty per daily occurrence.
* Vendors: Any outside vendors (caterers, DJs, photographers, rental companies, etc.) must be pre-approved and sign our vendor agreement.

Pets
We love pets, but to keep things safe and clean:
* Pets must be approved in advance, with the pet fee paid. Unauthorized pets = pet fee + $75 penalty.
* Pets should not be left alone unless crated, and owners must clean up after them.
* Service animals (per Ohio law) are exempt from fees but may be charged for damages. They cannot be left away from their owner.
* Emotional Support Animals are not service animals and are subject to regular pet policies/fees.

Payments
* Direct Bookings can be made up to 2 years in advance.
* 50% deposit secures your reservation; the balance is due 30 days before arrival. Reservations within 30 days require full payment.
* Non-payment may result in cancellation.
* Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and AmEx are accepted. Cashier’s checks require an additional refundable deposit of 50%.
* Non-direct bookings through Airbnb follow Airbnb’s payment policies.

* Check-in: After 4:00 p.m. (please note: hot tubs may take several hours to heat).
* Check-out: By 11:00 a.m.
* Early arrival/late departure: Up to 2 hours may be available with prior approval—$25 for cabins, $200 for lodges. Unapproved early/late access = $75 for every 15 minutes.

* 21+ to rent a cabin.
* 25+ to rent a lodge.
* Proof of age is required at booking.

Property Use & House Rules
* No camping: Tents, RVs, and campers are not permitted.
* No smoking indoors or in hot tubs: Includes cigarettes, cigars, e-cigs, vaping, and marijuana. A $500 cleaning fee applies if violated. Please dispose of butts properly outdoors.
* Cleaning: Please bag trash, wash dishes, and leave the unit tidy. Excess cleaning may result in charges.
* Damages/Theft: You’re responsible for damages or missing items. Report any issues immediately.
* Furniture/Electronics: Please don’t move furniture or alter electronics. Instructions are in your welcome book.
* Noise/Privacy: Respect other guests. County-wide quiet hours are 10 p.m.–8 a.m. Guests found violating county noise ordinances will result in termination of the rental agreement and must leave the property. They are also subject to fines and arrest by local law enforcement.
* Safety: Follow posted safety rules around the property.

Amenities & Maintenance
* We do our best to keep everything in good order, but occasionally hot tubs, HVAC, appliances, internet, or power may be unavailable due to service needs or weather. We’ll address issues quickly, but refunds cannot be given.
* Hot tubs may take several hours to warm up after cleaning.
* Don’t overload refrigerators on arrival—it may take up to 24 hours to stabilize after being loaded.
* Fireplaces are available October–April.

Outdoor Guidelines
* Fishing pond: Catch-and-release only. No fishing license is required. Registered Guests only. No swimming.
* No hunting at any time.
* No fireworks, firearms, or weapons.
* No ATVs, 4-wheelers, golf carts, or recreational vehicles. Motorcycles are allowed for transportation only. Park only in designated areas—no driving on grass or wooded areas.
* Campfires: Allowed only in provided fire pits. Burn firewood only and extinguish completely.
* Respect neighbors: No trespassing on adjoining properties.

Guests are responsible for themselves, their group, and their belongings. Cedar Grove is not liable for accidents, injuries, or damages. Use of hot tubs, ponds, or any amenities is at your own risk.

* Renovations: Cedar Grove may update décor, furniture, or amenities at any time.

All of our cabins and lodges are family-owned and managed by Julie and Kevin Claus, your hosts! We often get asked, "How did you get into the cabin rental business?" The simple answer.... we started off as guests just like you! We have always enjoyed the personal touches a family-owned business offers over hotels and resorts.
We started our journey into this business with a lakefront home on Norris Lake, TN. After many years of family enjoyment, we started our search for something closer to home. We quickly fell in love with the Hocking Hills during a car club drive through the region. We were amazed by the natural beauty and were immediately hooked. In the summer of 2011, we purchased the Cedar Grove Retreat property.
We envisioned a place where guests could escape their daily routines and enjoy a relaxing stay. Now the real fun began to make that vision a reality! Each cabin went through extensive renovations and new furnishings were added. In 2013 we finished construction of Stillwater Lodge, our guest services/operations building and the pond in the center of the property. A year later we made the big leap and Kevin left the corporate world to focus on our business. He also became very active in the industry serving on several boards and consulting to help other lodging owners with their dreams.
Just a few years later we then embarked on our largest expansion yet, our recently completed The Haven Event Lodge. This addition truly completes our vision where people can gather to escape "busy" and enjoy each other's company in the solitude of the Hocking Hills. We opened The Haven in the fall of 2018 by celebrating our own son's wedding!
Our favorite part of running this business is Our Guests! We enjoy hearing about everyone's Hocking Hills adventures and sharing our favorites. Let us know how we can help make your escape to Hocking Hills memorable!
