Coco's Poolside Retreat

Coco’s Poolside Retreat is a cheerful three-story townhome tucked inside a private, gated mini-compound in Old Town Key West. Designed as a creative complement to its neighbor, the Flower Power House, this laid-back retreat is situated in a tropical wonderland of a yard and walks right out to a huge, sparkling 40’ swimming pool shared with only two other homes—making it feel both social yet private. With porches on the first and second floors looking right out over the gardens, there’s always a sunny spot to sip morning coffee or evening cocktails after exploring the best of Key West.

Inside, bright island colors, handmade art, and whimsical details create a fun, welcoming vibe across all three levels. The main floor’s open living area is nice for gathering, with a fully equipped kitchen and half bath. Upstairs, the second floor has a queen bedroom and a separate sitting room with a queen sleeper sofa, both opening onto a wide porch with views of the pool and yard. The top floor has two more bedrooms—one with a king bed and another with two twins (convertible to a king)—plus a Jack and Jill bathroom, making it easy for families or friends to spread out.

Coco’s Poolside Retreat feels like a perfect hideaway set off the street and hidden behind the big white gate and lush trees, yet you’re right in the White Street Gallery District. Most of your neighbors are local, full time residents making for a peaceful vibe, but a short walk or quick bike ride gets you to the beaches, art galleries, cafés, and local favorites like Salute on the Beach. It’s a perfect home base for guests who love a tropical, local feel, a bit of whimsy and a great pool. We enjoyed our stay. Host was very welcoming. Loved the offer to have groceries delivered before we arrived.House needs updates - Showers are older and have mold. Third floor shower incredibly hard to turn on. No mirror or television in the one bedroom on the third floor. Decking outside needs updated and more chairs to sit on. Table outside from kitchen door was in bad shape - would not use to eat on. Appears to used to have an awning above it but long gone. Kitchen faucet knobs did not work well, especially cold knob. Sink really should be replaced. Front of fridge not inviting, should consider replacing. Fans need cleaned.

The mattresses need to be replaced -especially the one on the second floor. Bathrooms are in great need of some TLC tiles missing, holes in stall shower stall. Side porch furniture was filthy.

Great Stay

We enjoyed our stay at Coco’s. Communication could be improved around the pool. Myself and several other parties thought the pool was going to be private. I liked meeting the other parties but others may not. It also may be time for some cosmetic upgrades. It was a great choice for our family. Thank you for everything’

Would recommend! Loved our stay!

Audrey, the property manager, was incredibly nice and gave us so many great recommendations for eating, coffee, and happy hours. The house was very clean and nice. The property was quiet and relaxing. About a 25 minute walk to Duval St., would recommend bikes or ride share to tourist places. Overall an excellent experience. 10/10

Good Location

The location is walking distance to all things! The pool was nice, lots of shade. There are stairs which should be kept in mind for older people. Kitchen was stocked. The host responded quickly and was very nice. The best feature was the fact that every room had ceiling fans!!

Would recommend this property forsure! It was clean and tidy, the location is central and close to all part of Key West. The pool was nice to have too and we would come back!

Fantastic retreat

My friends and I had a great stay for a long weekend get away. Renting bikes makes it very easy to get around the island. The common area with the pool was very enjoyable and the place was just as pictured and described.

Great pool area

Our group of six enjoyed the pool area. The Jack and Jill bathroom doors did not lock and the toilets ran all the time. But that was the only two things we could really complaint about. The management company was great to deal with.

Excellent location, wonderful pool setting!

Even though it may not look or feel like it when you first arrive at the property, the house is perfectly located on Key West - 10min by bike at a leisurely pace to any activity or restaurant on the island. In fact, I would recommend not renting a car but rather just using the bike (drivers are very accommodating) and Uber when you need it. As for the house, it has all you need, nicely spread over 3 floors. The best thing about it by far is the private pool area with its warm water cleaned daily. We really enjoyed taking a dip after a good day! Enjoy!

A Shared But Wonderful Oasis

We had a great time in this lovely, artsy oasis. Walk through the carport, and your vacation is transformed beyond anything you can infer driving down the street. The private and secure courtyard, with its shared deck, private porch and balcony overlooking an amazing pool were relaxation at its best. The amount of private space, combined with the fact that the people from the 2 properties that shared the common areas were as nice as us, made for a great experience. If you are hooked on Duval - it isn't a bad walk. And the Old Town neighborhood is close to Higg's beach and has some gems of its own - like Fausto's, the Oasis and Sandy's Café. Some day I hope to go back with more family and friends and rent out all 3 properties.

Beautiful condo with a great garden/pool area

We thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful 3 story condo. Management was very responsive and all service people for the condo were extremely helpful and polite. The swimming pool and garden area is gorgeous and very private. There were 5 of us and we all had plenty of privacy and space. The condo has a well equipped kitchen. The central Location is walking distance to most everything. Sloppy Joes on Duvall is about a mile away. There's a Fausto's grocery and a liquor store just a block away. Would definitely stay here again.

Broken down couches.

Overal the place was nice and in decent shape with the exception of the two sofas. The first floor sofa had its trundle mattress removed and the entire structure of the sofa was collapsed. The pullout sofa on the second floor is just as bad. We attempted to pull the sofa out and one of the brackets to the sofa was loose and slammed into the glass top table. We will see whether the property Manager expects me to pay for the table despite the cause being their broken down sofa!

Awesome Key West House

This was our first experience with VRBO - totally sold. Very easy, safe, and full of information before and during our stay. The house was absolutely as pictured. We had a minor issue the first day with both the coffee maker and toaster not working; however, after a quick call, someone was there within 10 minutes with a new coffee maker and actually went to the store and bought a new toaster right after that. That’s great service and we give them extra kudos! Our only critiques would be that the rugs upstairs were stained and could have used an upgrade and although the pool and area courtyard were very nice, it was quite shaded so didn’t get the sun to warm it up. Some of the palm trees perhaps could have been cut back. Overall, a lovely place and experience.
