The Mermaid's Penthouse is ocean front and located in North Mission Beach on the top floor of the complex. Enjoy the panoramic ocean and sunset views with the open floor plan from your living room, dining area and fully stocked kitchen.

This is where you will experience the great room with the 180 views up and down the coast.

This amazing PENTHOUSE was just remodeled and ready January 2025. Everything is new from hardwood flooring, new luxury kitchen w/ white cabinets, quartz countertop, appliances, blinds, new bathrooms, furniture, tv's and more. 

We have a vacation rental license from the city of San Diego --- STR-03561L and also TOT #520040
Pet Friendly for a small fee.

1 Dedicated parking space is provided. The top floor offers lots of privacy and there is secured access from the beach and the patio.- We manage every beach house in the building if you need more space. This amazing penthouse is in north Mission Beach just 2 minutes walking to the best restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, bars and more! 10 minute walk to Belmont Park, 5 minute drive to Sea World, 15 minutes to the downtown Gas Lamp district and 20 minutes to our airport.

The complex offers a shared patio on the first floor with BBQ's and lots of seating. The patio have amazing ocean views and watching the swimmers/surfers.San Diego Beach King office is located on the ground floor if you need anything..

We can handle over 50 guests if you need room for a reunion or entire family vacation. 7 beach home, 8 parking spaces with a huge ground floor patio. Best location in all of Mission Beach. We've own several beach homes in the beautiful secure building with elevator or stairs.

The location is fantastic. We frequent the area and I loved the convenience of being right on the beach and easy parking. The property was very clean, comfy beds and great layout. My only suggestion would be more comfortable couches but beyond that everything was great. I would definitely book this condo again!

What a view! Walk out and on the walking path or head to the beach. They had a storage box filled with beach equipment to sit and relax or build a sand castle. Thank you for a wonderful time!

The view was absolutely beautiful! Nicely decorated and with a kitchen that had all you needed. The beds were very comfortable. It is in one of our favorite locations very convenient to many shops and restaurants. The host was very easy to communicate with and responded quickly. When messages were sent. I would definitely return here again and again. I highly recommend it to anybody looking to have a beautiful view and a comfortable place to stay.

Great view and close to some great dining options.Closets were hard to open and close and the living room could use some updated furniture. Otherwise the bedrooms were large and comfortable.

Beautiful location and amazing view! Beds were comfy and everything was very clean.Could use an upgrade on the towels, but plenty were provided. Everyone who runs or owns the place are very nice and helpful. Also there is an elevator to the Mermaids Penthouse which was great!

Perfect vacation rental on the boardwalk

We finally decided to book a rental on mission beach with an ocean front! This place didn’t disappoint! Maurice was awesome to work with as well! Newly remodeled and just a hop over the boardwalk and you’re on the beach! Already booked again for next year and hopefully more years to come! Highly recommend! Clean, and comfortable!

Location, location, location!

Amazing property, central to everything — groceries just a few blocks away, coffee shops, ice cream and great restaurants all truly walkable! Everything was clean, fresh and welcoming. Just lovely. Minor problem connecting for keycode to enter, but we were met there by the property manager who was kind and helpful!

Absolutely spectacular vacation property

We absolutely love this unit. It’s location is perfection because we like to be close to good restaurants and bars so that we can just walk there. We also love that it overlooks the ocean and has lots of windows. It is truly great because It has two bedrooms and two baths so we stay there very comfortably. I also love the fact that it has a parking space that is easily accessible and always available. I would highly recommend this to anyone. The host is also very helpful and was wonderful. We have been staying here for many years now every year, and we will continue to book it because we love it.

Great location, needs updates

This property was an amazing location. Right on the beach and with amazing views. The upkeep was not great: moldy shower curtains, rusted shower curtain rods and broken hooks, kitchen cabinets hanging crooked, dirty light fixtures, front door lock only worked from the inside, and the common areas were filthy and covered in sand. I don't regret our stay, it was a good value, but we won't be back.

Love the mermaid!

We stay at the mermaid every time we visit Mission Beach. It is so comfortable and convenient. The views are unbeatable! and having your own parking AND an elevator? so awesome! Highly recommend :)

Awesome Spot!

Loved this place along the boardwalk and just off of the beach! I really thought this condo was in the ideal spot and will be looking to stay here again in the future. Also the parking spot is clutch! Parking in the area is insane and we would have had a tough time finding a public spot for our rental car.

Great location

The location is fantastic. Walk out the door onto PB! Convenient to restaurants, attractions, etc. perfect for dogs! Beds are fair. Parking is nice unless you have multiple cars. Condo didn’t have Kleenex, hand soap, cooking utensils not good, only 3 coffee cups for a condo sleeping 6. All in all it was a good time for us. We adapted.

Gorgeous view and location

This property is located in a perfect area of Mission Beach because it’s close to all the fun restaurants and bars. The view is spectacular from the living room. We like the size because it’s two bedrooms and two baths. It has a nice kitchen and it is very clean. It has a nice sitting area where you can watch people go by. We would highly recommend this place.

Surprised by condition

Mattress in master with urine and some other stains, for the price charged that is unacceptable. Comforter on that bed filthy with unknown stains on underneath side. Looked like melted chocolate? On one side and see through light green stuff on the other side. Manager did try to rectify the situation by delivering 2 blankets at 11 pm

Great location

The location is wonderful. I enjoyed being right on the beach. I was able to swim with the dolphins in the ocean right in front of the beach. The view was amazing. Check in was simple. A few things that could have made my experience better are to have a can opener. There were dirty dishes located hidden in drawers and cabinets. It made me wonder how clean the place actually was. Extra linens and possibly having a throw blanket or comforter would have been nice. One of the boogie boards provided were broken already. Overall, this was a nice place with a few minor tweaks.

This property was close to resturants and the beach access was just a walk away. The views from the front room were beautiful! The property manager responded quickly to our questions & was helpful. We had everything we needed & would definitely book again!

Wonderful vacation!

Breathtaking views of the dolphins in the ocean every morning! Gina, the property manager was very helpful and approachable. Apartment was clean and had everything I needed for a beach family vacation. Would definitely stay here again.

Maurice Maio, a long time San Diego resident and well known successful businessman, started the San Diego Beach King Vacation Rental company in 2000. His first property was the Sleek Retreat purchased in 2000 which is the recipient of many awards including "House of the Year" and "HGTV House Hunter's On Vacation" series.

Mr. Maio took over the family plumbing, heating & air business at age 19 after his losing his father. Starting with 1 truck and no trades knowledge, the company grew to over 50 in less than 5 years and was modeled throughout the world thru the Maio Success System. Mr. Maio developed many innovated business practices and has hosted over 1200 seminars worldwide. He sold his companies to a wall street firm and began his vacation rental business.

Since it's inception, The San Diego Beach King has offered it's clients first class service at reasonable rental rates. Each property is carefully maintained and decorated with style. The Maio team runs smoothly and you'll see him smiling visiting the properties often. He loves Mission Beach, knows where to eat, where to rent, where to surf. Your vacation is his vacation and you'll see it when renting one of his properties that he owns or manages.
