This was our second stay at this stunning lake home, and it was just as magical as the first. The house is beautifully maintained, perfectly located, and surrounded by crystal-clear lakes that make every moment feel like a retreat. We'll definitely be back again!

The fenced in yard was nice for our dog. The ramp to the back bedroom made it possible for our daughter who uses a wheelchair to vacation with us. We recommend Veteran's Memorial Park in Elk Rapids for a nearby wheelchair accessible park.

Cozy with lots of beds and good location

This was a great place for our family vacation. With two college kids and a high schooler…having extra beds for friends that joined us was key! The breezeway was super nice for outdoor dining. Close to downtown and easy to keep our boat in the driveway. Take note though that this is on a busy street but you can still see Elk Lake from the house. Kitchen had almost everything we needed including paper plates and paper towel. Two and half roomy bathrooms was a plus too. We hope to be back!! We had a lovely stay.

Great house with fantastic breezway.

A really nice place in a very convenient location. The rooms are nice but the best part is the outside covered breezeway. It is a really great place to hang out in the evening.

Northern Michigan Wedding

Loved our stay!

This house is thoughtfully set up and well equipped with kitchen gear, outdoor furniture and comfortable beds. Elk Rapids is an adorable town and the gorgeous beach was filled with friendly people. The house is about 17 minutes to the horse showgrounds which was ideal for us. We recommend dinner at the picnic table in the breezeway where you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets.

Wonderful week at the Lake

We had the nicest vacation at Elk Lake! Home has abundant space and was very cozy, with ample room for us all. You will want for nothing - the hosts have provided amenities galore and were very attentive. Thank you Dave & Lorrie! We will be back!

Great Weekend

This was a relaxing stay. 5 minute drive to Elk Rapids, with great beach and marina. Grocery and Pearl's are even closer. We enjoyed the firepit with sunset each evening, while grilling and playing cornhole. The house was very clean and had good space and amenities for cooking. Thank you for your hospitality.

Beautiful home away from home

This property is special. Great location to grocery store, elk rapids, hiking, lakes, and horse show. Super clean, cozy, spacious, great outdoor areas as well to congregate next to a fire. The bathrooms are huge and beds are all comfortable. Loved the whole ambience and can’t wait to come back. Check in was seamless and easy communication with owner and help. Elk Rapids - Fall Tour

Overall, great property and channels of communication with the property owner were excellent...he always answered any questions in a timely manner. We would definitely consider this property again with any future travels to this area of the state! The only issue, and a minor one for sure, was having to bring our own linens and towels...first time in a half a dozen VRBO rentals that this was required.....but did not influence our overall favorable impression of the property.

Awesome experience!

First, the owners were excellent to deal with and very helpful in sharing information about the area and things to do prior to our stay. Second, the house was in immaculate condition. There were 7 of us. It was me and my wife with our 5 kids ranging from 26 y.o. to 17 y.o. and had plenty of space. Having two full baths and a half bath worked well with that many people. Having the breeze way between the garage and the house was a great gathering place with the portable gas fire pit. We were out there every night. The sunsets in the back yard through the farmer's fields were beautiful. We brought our pontoon along and kept it at the Elk Rapids Marina in town which is only two miles from the cabin. Everything was close by and convenient . We will definitely rent from David again!

Great Location and very clean and comfortable:)

Just as pictured! Very clean and accommodating to an 8 person group. The beds were very comfortable! The location perfect between Traverse, Elk and Charlevoix. Loved downtown Elk Rapids! Would have loved an outdoor firepit, but the gas one was very nice also. No complaints!

New, Squeaky Clean and Perfect Location for a Getaway

When looking for a vacation home for a little getaway, we wanted a home that was clean, updated and close to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes and Torch Lake and allowed pets. This home checked every box! From the beautiful interior that was squeaky clean to the kitchen that had everything you could want to make a meal or just a snack, it was perfect. The owners are very quick to respond to any questions about the area or the house and have made this a home away from home for us all. For anyone looking in the Traverse City area and want to bring your pup with you (this home has a small fenced in area off the primary bedroom for your pup!) look no further. We will definitely be back!

As a Michigander that left home at the age of 19 to join the Coast Guard, I always dreamed of having a cabin up north. My family has vacationed in the Elk Lake area for 45 yrs. As a builder, I designed and built our brand new rustic cabin, which is decorated with a lighthouse décor. I was a lighthouse keeper in the Coast Guard from 1976 thru '78. Being stationed in Alaska for four years, we have tried to capture that simplistic charm typical of being "Up North."

This new home is in the center of everything. With beautiful lake views, many amenities are all within a 5 minute drive. There is a nine hole golf course, Pearl's New Orleans's Kitchen - a four star restaurant, and the Riverwalk Grill and Tap Room is situated on the water for dinning and a gorgeous sunset view. Also within a 5 minute drive is the Elk Rapids Beach and Ice Cream Peddlers. For the upscale seafood lovers, there is Siren Hall in down town Elk Rapids. And for those that just want to kick back and have a pizza, there is Chef Charles or the Elk Rapids General store..

Elk River Marina, also in downtown Elk Rapids, rents pontoon boats, ski boats and fishing boats by the day or week. Traverse City is 20 minute drive. Here you will find Turtle Creek Casino, in addition to many other dinning and shopping options.
