Great house

The house was exactly as described. Our travel group had the best time and the owners of the house provided a great experience for our 7-day stay. The property caretakers lived on-site, which gave us wonderful support.

The house, pool, and beach were all amazing and just as advertised. The air conditioning was cold and lots of space for entertaining. Marta’s cooking service was as good as it gets and is easy to arrange. Brian and Cynthia (the care takers) really made our stay easy and enjoyable. Anything we needed or wanted they took care of. They arranged fishing, massages, trip to other islands, and joined us for several meals. Brian and his family really made our stay over the top. I can’t say enough good things about them!

We love Belize.

I traveled with a group of 13 friends and we were very happy with our stay at Casa Ciega. Mary Hitchcock was my go to person and she was very helpful with all my questions. She answered in a timely manner and the information was “right on”. We used Marfa and Sylvia as our chef and the food and service was excellent especially the barbecue shrimp. The caretakers Elena and Alex were on property and took great care of us. Elena kept our house clean and Alex would get us as many coconuts as we wanted it was great. We loved the pool and all the different areas to gather. We were first time visitors to Ambergris Caye and really enjoyed the people and plan to return. Thanks for doing such a good job and all 13 of us would recommend this property for a wonderful vacation.

50 year Anniversary Belize trip

We give 5 stars to the on-site manager, Bryan. He was great in every way. We also liked the outside area, the pool was very, very nice, 5 stars there as well. We used golf carts so the Location was not great if you wanted to go to the Truck Stop, or anything north of the bridge. We are pretty easy going people, not demanding in any way so it feels a bit petty to say, but you really need to upgrade your skillets. There were several there, but only one that actually cooked anything and it was small. Making french toast for 14 people was quite a process. I have a gas stove and have never experienced anything like trying cook on the stove there, even getting water to boil was impossible. Gas quality is outside your control, but you can provide better cooking utensils to alleviate that.The amenities list shows washer and dryer, you had to read the fine print to find out they weren't available for us to use. A more honest way would be to state that laundry service is available.Basic maintenance is lacking throughout the house itself, that is an owner issue. The insulation/sound proofing between the two bedrooms that have a Jack and Jill bathroom is very poor. Even with both doors closed you could hear people talking, etc. Privacy was basically non-existent. We did very much appreciate how quickly Malcolm responded to questions, pre-booking and over the last few months as well as arranging taxis for us. We made Casa Redonda work but would not book it again.

Great Property, but could use some work and maintenance

We stayed in this house with two families for a total of 10 people. We had more room than we needed. The Good: The house is comfortable and most things function as expected. The pool is fun, the ocean is close, and it's a 5 minute ride to South San Pedro spots. There's lots of room and the area is QUIET at night. The upstairs kitchen and great room are roomy and spacious. The large table allowed our group of 10 to eat together (you wouldn't get much more than 10 at that table) Our private chef Marfa who was recommended by the host did great. All of the beds were comfortable, with bedrooms were spacious and well appointed. Bathrooms worked, and there was enough hot water. The Meh: This house isn't walking distance to anything- or at least not walking distance after a few drinks. Activities pick you up at the pier (which is convenient and skips the traffic). The beach outside the sea wall is filled with trash and seaweed. It's so gross you won't want to go near it. But you can swim and snorkel off the pier - not many fish or other things to see there. The bad: Washer and dryer are not actually included despite what listing says. The housekeeper will do laundry (when she's working); washer/dryer are locked up each night. It's more like 24-72 hour laundry service than a washer/dryer on site. Raccoon in the attic was loud and a little scary. Dishwasher broke and we had to do dishes by hand (for 10 people!) Caretaker can be hard to pin down if you need something quickly.

The villa was perfect. The outdoor spaces are great for hanging out and offer plenty of different seating either in the sun or shade. The pool was in great shape. The best was the property manager Bryen. he was attentive and available to answer any questions or concerns.

Casa Redonda - very disappointing

Disappointed in the general disrepair and significant lack of maintenance of Casa Redonda. We had a wonderful group and we worked around the inadequacies of the home, but at the price you were charging, felt that we were deceived with your marketing. I would definitely not call this home “Luxury”. I am happy to provide more details upon your request, however the reply section of this review will not allow a lengthy review. The biggest saving grace was Alex, he was wonderful working with us and did his best to accommodate. He kept the grounds in beautiful condition and worked very hard. • General Upkeep: Poor to say the least. Things that did not work - plumbing downstairs, washer & dryer, fountain at the pool, hot tub, coffee pot upstairs (was replaced upon request), exposed nail heads outdoor caused injuries, plumbing downstairs was appalling, signs need to be place in every bathroom if you wish guests to accommodate your request for not flushing TP. • Housekeeping: Inadequate supply of towels and toilet paper for guests, home did not feel clean, kitchen and bathroom floors & mats were dirty, kitchen countertops upstairs were not clean. We did not want to walk barefoot in the home.

Christmas in Belize

Quite suitable for family of 15. Beautiful sunrises each morning. The villa is starting to show some age, but adequate for our needs. Alex, the custodian, was very helpful; provided us with access to fresh caught stone crabs, lobster tails and red snapper.

House with pool big enough for all 12!

The house is large, with two stories and the onsite caretakers were wonderful! The infinity pool is a delight and includes a resident iguana on the fountain wall :) There is no AC in the livingroom/kitchen area which was unlivable when it was 86 degrees outside. We had rented the whole house and the livingroom/kitchen area downstairs has AC, so we could go down there to talk or play games. When the power is on, the bedrooms are very comfortable. The showers only dribble a bit of cool water which was disappointing The pool is superb and the dock is very fun for a sit or to watch fish go by

Wonderful time in Belize!

Caretakers were helpful and available to us. Very spacious villa with lovely swimming pool, view of ocean and clean. A few issues that an older home presents but nothing major. Would have liked for hot tub to be preheated. Took several days to heat. Villa accomodated 16 of us ranging in age from 3 to 77 with something for everyone and all very comfortable. Information provided by management ahead of time was helpful in making plans for fun activities to do. Used referenced cook, Marfa, and she was great. Had an excellent traditional Christmas dinner. Caretakers & management were very helpful with making taxi contact, golf cart arrangements and other services to make our stay easier and pleasent. Belize is a great vacation spot! Had a fantastic time!
