Acerca de este alojamiento
Dog friendly house with fenced yard in Kingston's Midtown Arts District
Colorful, sun-filled, and beautifully-decorated two-story house with large, fenced-in yard right off Broadway in the Midtown Arts District of Kingston. This clean, uncluttered two-bedroom oozes good vibes and easy living, with nice views out the windows, healthy plants, and inspiring art. Great for couples or a small family/friend group, and outfitted for up to 2 dog guests to have a safe, pleasant stay. Equipped with a large cook's kitchen and everything you need to make or serve a great meal (a Weber charcoal BBQ grill is available in the warm months). Central heat and AC, Wifi, a dedicated office area, a dishwasher, a washer/dryer, and private parking round out the conveniences of a great home base. There's a full bath with a bathtub and shower on the ground floor, and a half bath on the second floor, where both sleeping areas are.
Set the mood with music from the vintage stereo receiver with attachments for your streaming device, and relax outside on the back deck, or by the back yard fire pit. Upstairs in the living room settle back into mid-century modern inspired style on the chaise lounge and enjoy reading or flipping through the many art books, design magazines, and non-fiction, or settle in for a cozy movie night streaming your media accounts on the Fire stick TV. This room doubles as the second bedroom, and the L-shaped sofa converts into two, roomy XL twin beds with good, "medium-firm" back support.
This nature and arts lover's base has plenty of space to relax indoors and outside, in a prime location to explore Kingston's beautiful and historic Stockade and Midtown Arts districts. Walk to great cafes, rail trails, restaurants, Ulster Performing Arts Center, and the Farmer's Market, or wander over to Keegan Ale's for music or trivia night! The house is a 5-minutes drive from I-87 and Rt. 28, and within 15 minutes of many beautiful and historic Hudson Valley villages such as Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Stone Ridge and Rosendale, and within 35 minutes of Catskills hiking/skiing destinations in Tannersville/Hunter, Woodstock, Phoenicia, Mt. Tremper, and Pine Hill.

Acerca de su propietario/a
Propietario/a: Rosie, Crimson Catskills
My name is Rosie, and I'm the founder and lead project manager of Crimson Catskills, a vacation property management business located in the heart of the Catskills Mountains and Hudson Valley.
I moved to the Catskills/Hudson Valley in 2021, after living in Brooklyn, NYC for over 20 years, and owning and renting out a weekend house in Phoenicia, NY since 2015. I was inspired to start Crimson as a way to help others find and enjoy well-designed, unique homes, and to offer tips on all the amazing local art, music, wellness, food, farm, and Nature experiences that are unique to this area. I offer vacation property management and interior decorating/renovation project management services, and I host pop-up wellness and arts events. I'm also a visual artist, photographer, and hiker, and I love traveling to new places, exploring the outdoors, road trips, history, dogs, music, and talking to people from all walks of life.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento
The Midtown Arts District of Kingston is a walkable urban neighborhood in a small, historic, upstate NY city. The state of NY spent millions of dollars to rejuvenate this area and provide new sidewalks, gardens, parks, and a paved rail trail that runs from Greenkill Avenue, behind Broadway, all the way to Kingston Plaza. You can walk right out your door and enjoy many things!
Midtown has many excellent and independently owned businesses: bakeries, cafes, vintage shops, two breweries, restaurants, music and arts venues, and it's the next neighborhood over from the Stockade District. It is an ethnically, racially, and economically diverse area, with Spanish as the official second language. There are many businesses that feature products and tastes of Mexico and South American countries.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial
People who rent places that I've decorated solo or as part of Crimson Catskills always tell me how welcoming the vibe is, how much they like the design aesthetic, and the unique details of the house, furnishings, or grounds.
I've been an avid flea market and vintage shop devotee since I was a teenager, and used to work for art dealers, galleries, interior designers, and auction houses as a photographer in NYC. I think this long exposure to art history, design, and decorating - and the way I focus on the age, history, and style of a house - shows up in how I decorate. I want people to feel at home and nurtured in the places I host, so I outfit them to be comfortable - with full kitchens and everything needed to cook great meals, soft, cozy bedding and art or furniture layouts that emit positive energy. I also make an effort to turn any yard or outdoor space into a chill-zone with great flowers and trees, ample space to run around, and a fire pit, lounge chairs, and BBQ areas.
