Escape to a tranquility just outside Durango. This 2-bedroom chateau offers pleasant respite with modern amenities. Enjoy an accommodating peaceful stay, and experience the magic of Durango at our chateau/cabana.

Nestled in the pines of a very quiet neighborhood just west of town, this listing is the result of a complete interior rehabilitation that took over a year to complete. Careful consideration was given to short term staying guests throughout the design while we updated ALL of the: Floors, ceilings, walls, doors, windows, cabinets, back stairs (now a deck), appliances (including washer and dryer), outlets (Some plugs have USB-A/-C ports), dimmable lighting, drywall, paint, custom desks & shelving.

10 Minutes to Town, 25 Minutes to Durango Hot Springs, 30 Minutes to Mesa Verde National Park, 45 Minutes to Purgatory Ski Area, 1 Hour to Pagosa, 2 Hours to Telluride, 0 Minutes to hiking trails, a playground, basketball, tennis, and pickle ball courts. The entrance to LaPlata Canyon is just 5 Minutes up the road!

This property served us well during our spring break. It is close to Mesa Verde, Durango Hot Springs, Purgatory, Cascades even Silverton and Ouray! Excellent for hiking, skiing and the Silverton train. Located in a quaint & friendly neighborhood. Host was super accommodating providing coffee and creamer for our arrival. We were also supplied with a few fresh vegetables that we enjoyed learning how to prepare and eat like chayote! The kitchen was excellent for cooking (plenty of spices), loved having dishwasher & laundry detergent provided, house was well suited for our needs! We all also enjoyed the shampoo, conditioner and body soap provided - smelled like the high-end resort kind! My only disappointment was that the queen bed was too firm for side sleeping. My son loved the bunk beds and said they were comfortable!

What a great place for our family & dog! Neighborhood is perfect distance from town and everything in the house is clean & thoughtfully available to make your stay a breeze. Great Escape from the Phoenix, AZ Summer Heat

We enjoyed our stay in this very nicely remodeled rambler nestled iamong pine trees and located in a small mountain community. Our little dog loved the break from Phoenix heat (110 degrees) as much as we did. The property is convenient to historic Durango, Hillcrest Golf Course, the Animas River Trail and the Durango Botanical Gardens. The WiiFi was great and the living room and bedrooms have smart TVs. We were able to connect our own Roku to the TV and stream all of our video services. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. We would definitely stay again.

This was an overall great place. We had little kids and they could improve on having some toys or things for the younger crowd.It was very well stocked oyn the kitchen for the most part. I would recommend dishes for little ones instead of glass or ceramic plates and had laundry room. We were very close to our family and this nade it very convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

I was born an Army brat in Colorado Springs, and lived there for two years before starting preschool in Germany. I moved to Durango from New Hampshire 11 Years ago. I have traveled extensively on and off grid and thus appreciate a good host with organic freshly ground coffee.

It is a quiet neighborhood with salt of the earth, friendly, respectful neighbors. We ask you turn your volume down by 10 PM each night to respect their sanctity.

This property is highly customized for the short to mid term travelers stay. It features open functional spaces, with plenty of closet space, three flat screen smart TV's, two built in committed office/work stations, french press, drip, coffee, grinder, organic coffee in several roasts, an ironing board etc. The king size ottoman in the Living room unfolds to become a surprisingly comfortable twin bed, and the cushions can be unzipped from the couch providing ample comfort for a little person to join the space.
