Very well located 2-bedroom apartment in the Lido area in Funchal, Madeira. It has a sitting room, a kitchen and two bathrooms.
The apartment is fully equipped and ready to be moved into . It's on the 7th floor of the building, it has great views over Funchal bay; and certainly perfect to watch the New Year's Eve fireworks display. The building has a common swimming pool and a small leisure area with sub-tropical plants and a lawn. Parking is available for cars.
The apartment is less than 5 min walk to the sea (and public swimming pools), a park, a supermarket, restaurants and all the amenities that make a holiday relaxing and easy.
We have special rates for long-term rentals.

Loved Madeira

Had an amazing holiday in Madeira. Apartment had all that we needed and brilliant location - close to lots of shops, bars, restaurants and not far to marina/Old Town. Recommend Jeep tour, whalewatching trip and Nuns Vallet.

A very nice place to stay

The apartment is ideally located, not far from the lido complex and supermarkets, shops, buses and restaurants. The apartment is functional and we appreciated the 2 bathrooms and the balcony in front of the ocean. The swimming pool was very quiet, only a few people. We had a very good stay, Bruno and his brother have been very helpful. We would certainly come back, without hesitation.

Even better than we’d hoped

We couldn’t have wished for a better place, the apartment was well equipped with everything you’d need and the pool was perfect. Most of the time we were the only ones there. I did have to contact the owner to request another fan and there was a brand new one brought to us the following day.also allowed us to check out late which was an absolute vid send .-

Everything we needed!

This apartment was perfect for our stay. It was just as advertised, spacious, clean and in a great location, a short walk from the beach front and lidos, close to a bus stop and a 30min walk into old town which we loved as it was a great way to get our steps in whilst getting to know the area. The apartment was dated but everything was in good condition and well looked after with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. The double bed was a little firm for our liking but it in no way detracted from our stay. We loved eating breakfast on the balconies which all had gorgeous views of the sea and surrounding mountains. We also loved the pool which was clean and a great size plus there was barely ever anyone there. The host and his brother were very responsive and generous hosts and we would definitely stay again. Thanks Bruno & Francisco!

Super Wonderful Month in Funchal

From the start, we had great communication with Bruno on our stay. We were 3 hours late arriving but Bruno's brother (the property manager) met us warmly at 10pm. The apartment is very spacious and quite comfortable. The kitchen had every amenity imaginable - even an immersion blender! We travel with our French Press coffee maker, though there were several in the cupboards. The apartment is on the 7th floor with stunning views to watch glorious sunrises and sit with a glass of great Portuguese wine for sunset. The location is excellent with several small to large supermarkets an easy walk away and dozens of restaurants and bars. It's also a 3 minute walk to the bus stop and several rental car companies across the street. We used the apartment as a base but easily traveled around the whole of Madeira by bus, walking and cars. We loved our stay, Bruno's apartment felt more like a home than just a flat for in-and-out tourists. We can't wait to go back!

The perfect place for us to stay

Other reviews have stated most of what I would say about the apartment (we loved it) so I will not be repetitive, but will stress the following: - having parking onsite is a huge plus in Funchal. Parking can get tricky but we were able to have parking every night of our stay. - there are many excellent restaurants within walking distance that are open late. We hadn't necessarily planned to eat near the apartment as we wanted to explore the island thoroughly. We did explore, but some days we returned around 9pm, tired after a full day of hiking and didn't feel much like venturing out. After a shower and refresh we would change our mind and are so glad we did. Had some excellent 10PM meals during our stay :) - I can't say enough about Bruno, our host. We've stayed in a number of VRBOs and Bruno is by far the friendliest, most communicative host we've had. We had some challenging situations prior to our trip causing us to have to perhaps over-communicate with Bruno, and Bruno was responsive, understanding, and accommodating. Every single aspect of our stay went smoothly and exactly as we'd hoped. Thank you Bruno, you're the perfect host.

Excellent Apartment, Great holiday

Great apartment exactly as described in the listing. Three balconies to choose from, depending on the time of day, all with very good views. Beds were comfortable and the location is nice and quiet. The swimming pool was great and well maintained and there are plenty of sunbeds. Bruno , the owner, was extremely helpful and communication was excellent. We were met exactly as planned and shown around the apartment. There is private car parking and we always got a space. The area is near the Lido and was perfect as a base. There are plenty of very good restaurants nearby as well as small Spar supermarkets and the bigger Pingo Doce supermarket within a few minutes walk. To get into the centre of Funchal there are bus stops just outside or there is a Taxi Rank a few minutes walk south-west.[or just hail a yellow cab ]. Suggestions :- Cable Car to Monte Gardens is great - but buy tickets for the cable car on-line as there can be a queue at the terminus. The Sledge Ride down is great fun [did have to queue for 30minutes ]. Equally exhilarating is the Taxi ride from Livramento at the end of the sledge ride back to the apartment { 25 Euros - check price beforehand }, or get the bus. Plenty of tour companies offering tours of the Island at very reasonable prices. Whale/ Dolphin watching boat tour is a must. Palheiro gardens are lovely and not busy, definitely worth a couple of hours. Beach at Calheta was excellent with lovely sand [ 2 sunbeds and umbrella were 5.5 euros]

Excellent endroit !

Très bien situé, vue magnifique sur la ville et la mer. L'appartement est spacieux, un peu démodé mais offre beaucoup de confort. Le lit est confortable et chacune des chambre donne sur le grand balcon. Un autre balcon nous permettait de souper a deux à une petite table. N'hésitez pas ! N'hesitez pas!

Pros und Cons

Die Küche war gut ausgestattet, die Betten bequem. Der Zustand der Wohnung war nach deutschen Maßstäben renovierungsbedürftig, die Schränke teilweise belegt mit leeren und vollen Kisten sowie verstautem Material. Leider gab es im größeren Bad keine Steckdose und der Fernseher hatte keinen Empfang.

We were glad to host you and appreciated very much you left it clean and in proper order. We apologize that the apartment is not at the standard of Germany. As explained in the apartment's website, we do not have cable tv. This is because cable tv, in Portugal, has almost no foreign language channels which have been of no use to former guests.

A wonderful week in Maderia

I have to agree with all the previous reviews.. this apartment was perfect for us (family 4). The views from the balconies are amazing and the apartment was so clean and homely. The pool area was great and the kids spent hours just playing in the pool every day. We had a really relaxing week and really hope we get the chance to return someday as we didn’t want to leave!! Thank you Bruno for the excellent directions from the airport, and letting us stay in your apartment we had a wonderful time.

Wonderful location, excellent view

We spent three weeks at this apartment and loved our time there. It is close to several grocery stores and many bars and restaurants. The promenade along the ocean is a short walk downhill, and it is only a 30 minute walk to downtown. Great options for bus service are close by. Four of us shared the apartment (two couples) and we had ample room indoors and on the balconies. It is very charming, clean and comfortable with several couches and a small television. We would love to stay here again.

Great views, quiet, close to everything

We (a family of four) had a great time in the apartment back in July. The view from the balcony is truly superb - we quickly got into the habit of having coffee there, and we even saw whales blowing in Funchal bay one early morning. Whenever we were too lazy to explore, we spent time at the swimming pool in the garden. The apartment was spotlessly clean, it's well equipped in general, fast Wi-Fi and a TV (important as our stay was during the World Cup!). Two bathrooms. Very quiet, as it's so far above the city and faces away from the street. There are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance, a big supermarket is 5 min away, and an impressive seaside beach 10 min away. The only reason we took a car was to explore remote parts of the island - it just takes a short bus ride to get to central Funchal. The apartment block always had parking available.

Perfect holiday family apartment

An ideal apartment for a family of 4 (kids age of 15 and 12). The apartment had all the facilities needed and the pool area was great for both the kids and for relaxing in the sun. Supermarkets, car rental, bakery, restaurants and the sea were all in short walking distance from the apartment, so the location was very central, but at the same time also a quiet area. Superb value for money and definitively our choice of accommodation also the next time we come to Madeira.

Wow!

We were so happy with our choice - Bruno is a wonderful host, and more importantly, the property was terrific. Everything is as described, and some features are even better than advertised! The flat is clean, spacious, and comfortable - couldn't ask for anything more. The location is excellent - near everything we needed/wanted. Finally, the value is compelling. Similar and inferior properties are more expensive (significantly in some cases). Truly, it was a special experience and we will definitely stay with Bruno when we return.

Bon choix de location sur Madère

Appartement bien situé (commerces, pour rayonner sur l'île), spacieux, bien équipé.Un effort est à faire sur les ustensiles de cuisine et sur une cafetière électrique qui marche. Belle vue sur la baie de Funchal et la mer. Parfaite organisation des propriétaires pour localiser l'appartement.

Excellent place for our month holiday

We visited Madeira for a month and this apartment was ideal. When we rented a car, there we could park it inside; but unless yoXu want to travel around the island a car is not needed. Everything you might need is close by: we enjoyed buying the excellent fresh portuguese bread and "bica' (expresso) every morning from the bakery down the street. There were two different mini-markets around the corner, but e recommend the bigger supermarket "Pingo Doce" down the street (5 min walk away towards the sea). Ask the owner for their excellent map of the area. cross the street fro the supermarket you have the the Lido swimming pools and access to the sea and a nice park with restaurants around it. If you like restaurants the street of the apartment building has several. The owner and his family are very quick responding to us, very professional and the did everything they could to made you feel welcome and have a comfortable stay. We are planning to return!

Excellent base to explore the island.

The location is indeed excellent for an easy holiday; everything you might need is at walking distance like other reviewers wrote. Also, waking up every day to panoramic views of the sea and Funchal's bay is worth a million pounds! We didn't spend much time at home, since Madeira has so much to see; but the apartment provided an excellent base for our explorations; we did enjoy the crystalline swimming pool some days and had some dinner in the main balcony enjoying the lazy end of the day. You can trust Bruno and his family, the booking procedure was very professional and smooth. The apartment was spotless clean when we arrived. They have a lovely apartment and we already booked our next stay (this apartment books-up quite quickly, it seems).

Excellent panoramic views and excellent people.

We stayed one week in February at this apartment. We have stayed in other more expensive apartments, but this one is (by far) the best ratio quality/price. From the very first email, we had an excellent service: it was quick, efficient and very polite. Francisco and Bruno did their very best to help our stay be a comfortable one. The apartment itself has indeed fantastic views of the sea and the Funchal bay; the photos can't show the beautiful panoramic view. It was such a pleasure to wake up to the gorgeous view of the sea (the room's french doors open up to the seaside). The apartment is fully equiped (fast internet!) and even though we had a car, one is not needed: there are several restaurants, a bakery and a small supermarket on the same street! There's a bigger supermarket less than 5 minutes walk away. It is a great area to make your holiday. Very well served by public transportation. We liked the fact that there were two bathrooms because we were two couples. Very good price for the quality. JP

I am born and raised in Funchal, 10 minutes away from this very apartment. Meanwhile, I have spent a few years studying in Sweden, the UK and the US. When I had the opportunity to buy an apartment in such perfect location, I couldn't pass it up, I knew it would be a perfect place to rent out to visitors to our island.

This area has been, for years, developing as the main area for visitors to stay in Funchal; so it is not surprising it has all the amenities in a radius of less than five minute walk.
You have several places which can give you access to the gorgeous sea (the Complexo Balnear do Lido, the promenade and the Clube the Turismo). Just in front of the first, you can also find a nice city park, a well stocked supermarket and several restaurants.
A few hundred meters from the apartment you will find more choices for restaurant, a British-style pub and a very nice bakery.
The apartment is on a 7th floor with unimpeded fantastic view of the Bay of Funchal. A fully equipped kitchen, free high-speed internet, an lcd TV, fresh linens and towels make this apartment fully prepared for the visitor who likes to self-cater and have a comfortable base to explore Madeira's beauties.

It will be hard to find another area in Funchal where you can have a quiet place to stay, while having all amenities within walking distance. Such closeness to the sea is also rare in the city. It is not a coincidence it has developed in the main area for visitors to stay in Funchal.
The owner's family is fluent in English and always glad to help make your stay enjoyable.
