Loved the room, loved the location, very clean

Only reason I gave it four and not 5 stars are the elevators are slow and scary, and hidden fees to deal with. Otherwise had a great time, great pool, great beach.

Hi Tina, thanks for your review! I'm sorry you found the elevators slow, but I don't know why you found them scary though. I wouldn't worry about them in any case, they have been in perfect use for years and are periodically inspected, as required by City regulations. Also what are you referring to by "hidden fees"? We've never heard that before.. If you mean the $30 registration fee on arrival, that's written directly in the listing + in the check-in information. For reminder, this one-time fee gives you unlimited access to the pool & unlimited valet parking, and it's only one fee for everyone in your party. It's actually pretty good value ! Great place for the price!

Definitely good beach views and the property pool is a great hang out also. The owners are accurate in their depiction and provide easy to follow instructions. Easy to find methods to contact the owners though I did not have any need to! Great place for a budget way to stay on south beach!

Vacation!

The room was spacious and as advertised in the picture. Bed was clean, there was a nice view and the pool was nice. It was great being across from the beach! The walls were too thin and we could hear a lot going on upstairs. But other than that, we had a great time! Would recommend!!

Check in went easy, no problems. The location was perfect. Close to the beach and walking distance to stores. The hotel was old but clean. The shower and bathroom could of been cleaned better. I had to go out and buy new sheets and comforters for the bed. The ones that were on them were dirty. Overall stay was good other than that

Miami Getaway

We had an awesome experience. The room was clean and decorated trendy. The use of the umbrella and chairs that were available was a nice touch. The property was peaceful. Walking distance to several really good restaurants. I would stay there again if I were staying in that same area. About 5 miles from South Beach, a mall north of the property near Haulover Beach which was just about 4 miles north of the property. Valet Parking was convenient. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was outdated, very poorly cleaned. Sheets didn’t fit the bed right. Couldn’t get any channels on tv. Thank god we only used it to sleep.

Nice little condo

The overall building is a little outdated and needs major TLC. The condo itself was nice and cozy. We had issues with the drainage in the bath tub, and the owner was very responsive and took care of the problem. This condo is located on the norther side of Miami, so its far from all the south beach happening. You can always rent citi bikes and take a ride. There is a grocery store and lots of restaurants up the street so its convenient to everything else.

Great location!

The property was very clean and there were beach chairs and umbrella which was great. We loved walking on the boardwalk which is accessible at the back of the property and we rented bikes too. The beach is beautiful and we liked that the area was so much quieter than South Beach but there were still restaurants around that we could walk to. There is a free trolley that goes up and down Collins Ave which we used to see other parts of Miami Beach and there is also a bus to Miami airport. We did not need to rent a car which was great. There is a breakfast/lunch cafe and a convenience store across the street which we appreciated. There is also a Publix within walking distance. We had a very enjoyable time and we would definitely stay there again. The owners were great to communicate with and responded to any questions we had.

disappointing

it was rented during renovation. blue plastic covering the Windows which were advertised as an ocean view. and workers on scaffolding right outside windows. the owners said they didn't know about. REALLY!

Wonderful Property

We really enjoyed the property they have a beautiful pool and out the gate, you are right on the beach. If you want to walk, run, bike the boardwalk is right out the gate also. You are required to valet your car every day which was kind of cool. Just like the rich bring the car around. Our one only thing we have a negative with is they do not provide enough toilet paper and garbage bags. You can get more but you will be charged extra for it. The area it is located in reminds a lot of New York. It is easier to walk to everywhere because parking is so limited. We loved our stay very much and we will be back.

Nice apartment at Casablanca condominium

Everything was good, since the communication with the host to the room. The ladies at the front desk were kinda rude at the beginning the same as one of the valet parking guys. The condominium has a weird smell on the hallways, they should look out for that, smells like a old kitchen. I even have to get a Glade for the room bc you can feel the smell from the inside. The house keeping team shouldn’t be knocking doors at 8:30am showing me their wrist watch. I know at what time i have to leave. 5 Stars only for host and room. The condominium/hotel deserves 3.0

DONT BE FOOLED BY NICE PICTURES

Did not sleep one minute each night, the building is so loud. The lobby and building smell and are completely dated. The bathroom in the pictures is not represented accurately. It is dated and tiny. The room it self was fine, but not as nice as the pictures. It is smaller and dated. I would not stay at this place again, no matter what room it is. Its not a nice place. The pool is dated and not even nice.

Convenient but very old building

If you’re looking for a convenient location that is right on the beach and you’re easy going, then this place is perfect. It worked out great for us for three days. The place is within walking distance to the boardwalk, 7 eleven, Walgreens, Publix, and restaurants. However, it is a pretty old building with old rickety elevators (that haven’t been serviced in about two years). We just ubered around, but it seemed like people were always waiting a while for their cars from the valet service. The room itself was convenient. It had a refrigerator and a kitchenette. The bed was probably the only thing that bothered us. It wasn’t very comfortable. Also, the floors are tile and the people above us seemed to drag chairs along the floor all night. If you’re looking for a quiet room, this place might not be for you. The hosts were very nice, but we usually didn’t get a response for hours, and usually only got a response around 4am.

Recent stay

We were disappointed overall with our stay. Pros: -Our room was very clean. -Location to the beach and ocean view as advertised. -Owner of room was very pleasant to communicate with over email. -Cost seemed reasonable. Cons: -Photos of room and facilities were misleading. This hotel is very dated and in need of upkeep. -Hallway smelled stale and of marijuana and in need of cleaning and upkeep. -Lobby staff not friendly or helpful. -TV was stuck to one channel. Tried to get this resolved, lobby personnel were not helpful at all, and although this was communicated to the owner they were not able to resolve the issue. Lobby personnel finally admitted to not having a maintenance person until the day we were due to depart and that maybe we should buy batteries. -Really nothing around to do in the area in terms of decent restaurants and other activities besides the beach. In all our years of using VRBO to book a stay, this is the very first time we have felt so disappointed with our choice. We would not return. .

Perfect Beach Vacation

We loved staying here! When we arrived at night, our initial first impression was "this building is old and there's squeaking coming from the AC vent." But when we woke up and opened the window to see the view, it was incredible! The actual condo unit is very clean and updated, and the shower is awesome (and clean). I brought my own sound machine because I'm a light sleeper and we did get used to the squeaking coming from the AC being on. It never got hot in the room, we never encountered any critters, and it was quiet (especially on weekdays). The bed frame itself is what was a little squeaky, but the mattress was comfortable (and that's saying a lot, since we are used to sleeping in a King). I have a huge fear of bedbugs in any kind of rental or hotel but this bed and condo was 100% clean and free of bugs! We stayed for a full week and there were always chairs available at the pool. The provided umbrellas, beach chairs and umbrella were SO helpful. It was nice to be able to see the pool and beach from our window and to walk to either without having to carry a key, and the proximity to the 7 Eleven, Walgreens, and even Publix down the road was great. We walked down Collins road to lots of restaurants, too. South Beach is a short Lyft ride away, and I was SO glad we stayed where we did when we saw how crazy, busy, and loud South Beach was. All in all, I would definitely stay here again! The hosts were friendly and made sure to fix the issue with the private wifi when we had trouble connecting, and they made sure to ask our permission before allowing a technician to enter the unit.

Excellent location for budget travelers who like some style

This was my first time in Miami, and it was a fantastic trip. Pros about the property: Location - right on the beach! There is a Publix within walking distance for budget food, and the fancy Fountainbleau is also within walking distance to blow the money you saved on a fab cocktail. Also reasonably priced Cuban food within walking distance. Uber Pool from the airport was under $20, and to the Miami Arts District was under $10. Pool - This is an older pool, meaning it's really deep - awesome for keeping the kids in the shallow end. Very clean and well-maintained. Busy, but not so crowded I couldn't find a chair or swim laps comfortably. Great hours, too - I went for a moonlight swim every night and had it mostly to myself. Space itself - Stylish, clean, plenty of towels, and well equipped kitchenette (I ate 90% of my meal in.) The view is lovely, I had my tea watching the water every morning. Cons about the property: The elevator - super rickety, and long waits during busy times. Also, one of three was out of commission, and of the two working, one could only accommodate four passengers. I took the stairs most of the time unless I was carrying stuff or really tired. Hopefully, when the third elevator is fixed this will be a non-issue. The noise - sound proofing isn't fantastic. I heard some kind of altercation in the hallway early one morning and could hear the people in the room above me walking around. There's some kind of renovation happening, so the one rainy day I couldn't sleep in because of power tools.

Mid Beach

We still enjoyed our stay overall to escaped the winter nor’easter in New England. Pro’s: - Window view from the bed waking up every morning was beautiful view of the sandy beach & ocean. - Location was great being mid beach. Not too close to all the chaos of South Beach, but close enough to enjoy all the restaurants & still find public affordable parking if you don’t want to use the available valet service for parking at the resort. Also Citi- bike rentals available 24/7 were conveniently located 2-5 minutes walking distance. Enjoyed the bike rides along the board walk & to restaurants if you don’t want to drive in traffic or look for parking. - Hostess, Marie was receptive, pleasant, quick to respond to messages. - Building has 3 elevators. Always a short wait without lines for the elevator. - Available coin laundry machines on our floor. 2 washers, 2 dryers - Kitchen has adequate supplies of plates, glassware, utensils. - Pool & beach literally just steps from back door entrance Con’s: - Building is outdated & needs many updates. Carpet hallways smelled bad. - Walls to room is very thin & can hear loud sounds in hallways & neighbors. - Unit has decent updated furniture, but trims & electronics needs updates. TV doesn’t work well, picture on screen was distorted (internet connection issues or just needs replacement) - Bathroom is very small, needs updates, & better cleaning. Bathroom vent fan doesn’t work, humidity build up, & bring some citrus magic odor spray. Drains has sulfur, rotten egg/ sewage smell. We bought bleach & poor it down the drains. Removed the sink drain odor, but every time initially turn on showers, still could smell the sulfur (maybe just Florida’s water). Also visual rotten trims & bottom of bathroom door due to humidity? - Water pressure is reduced when neighboring units flush their toilets - Bed mattress wasn’t the greatest. Has no mattress cover besides thin bed sheets. Has a 4-5 inch memory foam topper that was soft & kept sliding off to one side. (Just preference, we prefer a firmer mattress) Hope this helps for those looking for an honest review, but as always, this is subjective. Every posting will have photo shopped pictures that sugar coat everything! :)
