Remodeled 1926 craftsman cottage completed May 2025. (Please see our reviews under Coastal Ventura Charmer #1 for reference and info) A mirror image to our adjacent vacation rental this other half of the duplex is just as nice. Completely renovated, bottom to top. Equipped with new, state of the art appliances, full kitchen, beautiful tile shower and all new furnishings. Private yard, smaller than next door but with similar new patio furniture and a shed with similar bikes and toys.
Consider renting both sides for getting together with family or friends. A gate usually locked between the two can be opened for making it easier to visit.
*Property is located on a midtown cross street adjacent to a main boulevard with food choices on three corners. May be busy during lunch hour and weekends.

A cute cottage with a really nice, well-equipped kitchen, beautiful flowers out front, and a private patio in back. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 only due to the very soft and saggy mattress.

We appreciate that this guest enjoyed our well-equipped kitchen, the landscape and cozy back patio. We were surprised they found the fairly new mattress with the memory foam pad too soft, as we checked and tested it ourselves and it is very comfortable. We have also received many good reviews on it. (We try but it is hard to find a mattress that 100% of people will like).

This place was amazing. It has a HUGE kitchen with all new appliances. It was recently remodeled and they did an excellent job. Would definitely stay here again. Close to the pier and downtown. Great location.

The house was very clean and had everything we needed for a 3-night stay. Restaurants were nearby and we took Sherrie’s advice and ate at 2 of them. The place was very comfortable and only a 10 minute drive to Ventura Harbor to catch the ferry to Channel Islands National Park. We would definitely stay again.

The cottage was wonderful. Everything we needed was there. From keurig pods to chairs & a cooler for the beach. Super close to everything in Ventura and surrounding areas. Cottage was super clean and updated. Would definitely stay again.

This charming place was 2 blocks from my cousin, so a family wedding where I helped be chauffeur was a 3 day event. I absolutely loved this place and it is indeed special; lots of attention to detail, huge kitchen, a ceiling fan over bed (yay!) and in living room, very comfy bed, fenced backyard and walkable to center of Ventura shopping. It is obvious the owners took great care to make it "like a home". I'm 78 years old, the one thing I wish was that it had a shower stool but it's not required for me to go back!

We had a most wonderful stay...this is a charmer for sure! Everything looked just like the pictures and was clean and new. The art throughout the home is handpainted and adds such a lovely, beachy touch. Sherrie was fantastic, communication was a breeze. Would stay here again and certainly will soon :)

Beautiful and cozy, this beach house had it all. Location, yes, but charm and convenience as well. It’s a short walk to the beach and to Main Street shops and restaurants. Lovely kitchen, private backyard with a new grill, front porch window seat, and plenty of windows to open to catch the afternoon breeze. Practically perfect!

Home away from Home

We have stayed at many short term rentals in various locations throughout Ventura City limits and by far this is the best location. Walking distance to all the restaurants, shopping, cultural experiences and of course the Beach! The bungalow was very clean and the added amenities are a big plus! (Bikes, boogies, boards, chairs,& cooler). If you enjoy ocean breezes look no further, this is the place to be! Can’t wait for our next stay!

Very nice and comfortable home to stay at. The house is tastefully decorated, kitchen had all the utensils, 2 coffee pots (1 a pod) and other regular. Clean and very comfortable. Backyard has a BBQ, patio furniture and Patio Table with Umbrella. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend renting this unit. The host is extremely responsive to any issues.

Great house in a great location. Walkable to the beach, pier, and town. Lots of yummy restaurants close by. House was comfortable and clean with everything you need. Backyard was cozy and perfect for relaxing.

Nice 1/2 of a duplex in town. Have stayed in the other side before, this was the first time on this side of the duplex. A little smaller and lacks the convenience of direct entry from the alley parking behind but otherwise just as good. Nicely refurbished older home that retains a lot of the original charm but is updated to modern standards. It is a bit noisy being this close to downtown especially on weekends so be ready for that. Has the shed in the backyard like the other side that is lockable so that's a nice place to store your own gear plus there's bikes and beach gear provided. Kitchen is equipped with probably anything you'll need. We'll likely be back again in the future.
