Location was perfect. I few issues with the cleanliness of the house, lots of dust and cobwebs, the bathroom sink faucet needed to be replaced. We had to contact host for toilet paper (response was quick). For the cost of this rental, everything should have been a bit nicer.

We only used for sleeping and showering. Spent the majority of our time outside the home with family. Not a fan of exterior washer and dryer but not a deal breaker. This was our second stay at this unit. The first stay provided a little more accessories, like toilet paper and shower soap. The soap dispenser was empty and we were given one roll of toilet paper for a weeks stay. Don’t mind buying my own. When flying, prefer to limit my liquids. Otherwise. All good. Very nice hostess. Walkable to the beach, groceries and restaurants.

Wonderful location just steps to the beach! Took walks every morning to the pier. very comfortable house with lots of kitchen, amenities, and coffee too.Highly recommend!

What a great find!

My girls were over the moon for the Mermaid Cottage! A few minute walk to the beach. Owner lives next door so easy to communicate. I would like to visit again with friends.

Wonderful Experience

My daughter and I absolutely loved staying here. Very short walk down the lane to the beach. People were so friendly and it felt safe. This location was close to my Ventura family. Little scary for us when the fires started in Ventura but there was a quick response to put them out.Beds were comfortable. Everything we needed was provided. LOVED the candy jar-we love Smartees.We could have walked to a few stores but didn’t need to. I do recommend this property.

Perfect beach stay

We loved walking to the beach and restaurants, the cottage was comfortable, thoughtfully appointed and nicely decorated. We would definitely stay at the Merry Mermaid again!

Great girls trip!

We do a yearly girls trip and this year chose Ventura to go to the Channel Islands. This place was GREAT! Easy access to the beach and restaurants! Host was very kind and responsive!

Beach Stay

We really enjoyed our Bentura vacation and our rental. Was clean, lots of air flow. Had everything we needed. Close to the beach. Walking distance to restaurants. We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. Would stay here again!

Nice location and cute cottage

This cottage's location is good and is walking distance (10min) to multiple beach areas. I felt safe there with my young kiddos (7 and 8 years old). The cottage itself is cute and had nice decorating touches. We encountered two issues. One was the cleanliness of the 2nd bed which had visible hair on both the bed and pillowcases and the bedskirt was stained/dirty. Unable to find other sheets, I notified the owner via vrbo but didn't get reply until the following afternoon. (She did refund a portion of the cleaning fees and ask the cleaning company to contact us the next day). Secondly, the unit next to us was doing some work and we were awoken each morning between 7-8am to loud moving/pounding sounds. It would have been nice if the owner had informed us of this work since we were on vacation and trying to sleep in a bit. Overall, it's a nice cottage and in a good location.

Amazing Stay at the Merry Mermaid

Everything about our stay here was amazing. The location near the beach, having our dog with us, the house itself is adorable. Our host Jenny checked in right away and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again.

Family visit

Great location. Easy access to the beach and restaurants. If you’re interested in using bikes, you will need to let management know prior to your arrival. Also, the washer and dryer are in a cabinet in the backyard. If you plan to cook, the kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans, dishes, everything needed to make a meal. It was a great stay. Thank you.

Cozy beach bungalow

My family and I stayed at the Merry Mermaid while in town for a wedding. The space was so cozy and inviting, and stayed cool with constant sun. Walking to the beach every morning was a huge highlight, and the beds were very comfortable as well! Hoping to get back here again some day.

Perfect for us!

We enjoy visiting Ventura and Jen's place was definitely charming and relaxing. Just a block from the beach and a few blocks from good restaurants, the cottage is perfect for us and our small dog. We'll be back!

East coast to west coast visit made easy!

This place was great! It was clean and decorated nicely. The kitchen was nice. We cooked a lot and found everything. We loved the bedroom with the sitting/tv area. We loved the beach or marina walks close by. Dukes was around the corner and we could walk to the grocery store. The host was super responsive. We were able to visit with our family in area easily. Thank you!

Ventura Beach Pierpont by the Sea

A wonderful place to stay, it was clean, quaint, and simple. It was advertised properly and made our family business reunion special. I rarely write a review, this was such a nice place that it was a simple way of saying "thank you." It accommodated three adults in a very nice way that was comfortable and not overcrowded. The art work and mermaid theme was very welcoming. Thank you for making this a wonderful week.
