Welcome to Casa Blanca at Las Catalinas!
Casa Blanca is luxury at its finest. This beautiful, modern oceanfront villa is light and bright and exudes luxury and comfort. The villa is located in the esteemed Calle Cartagena section of Las Catalinas -- an incredible, pedestrian-only gated community.
Just a few steps from the beach, the oceanfront villa features 4 bedrooms, 4 full baths and two half baths over three levels, comfortably sleeps 8 adults plus additional space to sleep 2 children or teenagers in the cozy bunk beds in our extra living room. Casa Blanca has views of the ocean and plaza from every room. The home is spacious and open with high ceilings and natural light throughout.
The main living area features an oversized kitchen, family room, and dining room with two incredible outdoor living areas on both ends. Open the arched French doors leading to the terraces and enjoy the tropical breezes of Costa Rica. One of the terraces features a private plunge pool overlooking the ocean.
The gourmet kitchen includes high-end appliances, quartz countertops and custom wood cabinetry. It is well stocked with the kitchenware and tools to meet the most discerning chef's needs.
On the first level, you will find a separate studio (private entrance), a guest bedroom with a full ensuite bathroom and partial ocean views and a half bath.
The third level of Casa Blanca opens to a living space with bunk room area and a half-bath. It also includes two additional bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathrooms, vaulted ceilings and ocean views.
Every detail of Casa Blanca has been meticulously thought out. From the grand archway at the entrance to the fine fixtures and finishes throughout including furniture, linens and kitchenware from Restoration Hardware, William Sonoma, Pottery Barn and Serena Lily furniture. We are a Couple, married in 2021 and very much in love with each other and Costa Rica. We met in Denver which is Mark’s home. Cynthia is “Tica”, born and raised in the San Jose area.
Mark has had a career in transportation and logistics. Cynthia had a very successful career in banking. Mark is the under educated of the pair with only a couple of Bachelor degrees from Utah. Cynthia has five advanced degrees in business and IT disciplines and was an EVP at Bank of Central America when she agreed to go forth in life with Mark in Colorado. (Is Mark a good salesman?).
We love our life of ranching and skiing in Colorado, quick getaways to our San Diego beach house, and of course, our favorite, Casa Blanca at Las Catalinas.
Mark, in semi retirement, is a part time ski instructor at Vail and a big game outfitter as well.
Cynthia is primary contact for Casa Blanca, knows her homeland exceptionally well and we both look forward to hosting you many times at Casa Blanca and maybe in Vail, San Diego and/or the ranch which is just nine miles from the world famous Broadmoor Hotel.

From the time you valet your car and embark with the very accommodating staff in your golf cart with your bags to the door of the magical Casa Blanca, well known as one of the premier Villa’s in the community, you know you’re in for something special and not found anyplace else.
Upon entering and getting settled, with the splash of the surf audible, the ocean views truly breathtaking from the second and third floors and the embracing hospitality of the Casa Blanca staff, you will feel the unique embrace of the community. This is not merely a tourist destination. Over 25% of Las Catalinas are full time residents. You will understand that you are joining something special.
You are 150’ from the beach, 40’ to the incomparable Beach Club and a comfortable five minute walk to village center where you will find five or six excellent restaurants ranging from Italian to Portuguese/Asian fusion. Further is a truly extraordinary store called Copper and Iron which may be the most unique convenience store you’ve ever encountered with a unique mix of high quality meats, deli, wines and general staples.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial
The entry is inviting. Casa Blanca is one of a very few ocean front properties with immediate access to the Beach Club and the permeating sounds of the ocean surf which is only 150’ away. The two first floor suites are self sustaining with attached baths and, in one case, an efficiency kitchen and separate entrance. A short stroll up the first stairs will pass one of two half baths (there are six baths total) and enter the open concept kitchen which seats a dozen people very easily. To your right is a covered deck with a wonderful view of the plaza and to your left is a dining and living area which is a gateway to the plunge pool deck and outside grill area. This patio affords wonderful ocean views and the constant audio of slapping waves.
Going up another floor, you’ll find a common area with another half bath and a really nice bunk area ideal for kids but large enough for another couple who drew the short straw for the fifth bedroom (smile here). Hey, even the view from this area is incredible. There are two more bedrooms to include a guest suite on your right, again with an ensuite bath and fantastic views of the plaza, ocean and Beach Club. To your left you’ll find the master suite with awesome ocean views from every window including the shower.
Climate control is individually controlled in every suite to include the bunk area.
The furnishings, cookware, plates and cutlery are the finest from Restoration, Pottery Barn, Sachs and other high quality vendors. The sheets, bedding and towels are of the finest caliber. You will be impressed.
Casa Blanca was built and furnished to our high standards. No detail has been overlooked.
Few properties are better located. There are only a dozen ocean front properties in Las Catalinas. Ocean front properties are, in general, rare in Costa Rica. We share this ocean view with only one other property.
