Bahamas Sea Cliff Cottage

Tenemos una casa de la isla artista que se ha configurado para parejas o amigos para disfrutar de espectaculares vistas del mar. Los colores cambiantes en los acantilados y el mar a fondo el día es hermoso. El acceso al agua para nadar y bucear a través de escaleras hasta el mar. Este es buen lugar para sintonizar con el ritmo de la isla y volver a una vida más simple. Disfrute descubriendo la cultura de las Bahamas cálido y también a la comunidad surfista / artista creativo en la zona. La casa cuenta con un plan de espacio abierto. El salón se abre a gran terraza como un verdadero espacio interior al aire libre. Puertas de obturador de altura se pueden abrir o cierran para controlar el flujo del viento a través de la casa. La cocina, comedor, estar y dormir áreas todas tienen vistas al mar. El dormitorio tiene una cama queen size y el invitado armario. El loft tiene 2 dobles / camas individuales que se pueden poner juntos o separados Hay 1 baño amplio con agua de lluvia suave cisterna con ducha de agua caliente y fría, con vistas al mar. Es un buen lugar para los amantes.

Great Stay

Perfect setting for a couple to relax and explore Eleuthera from. Cottage had everything we needed and we spent a lot of time enjoying the deck and water below the cliff. Very private setting but convenient to Gregory town which has most of the basics you need. Would come back!

Private with a beautiful view

This was our second visit to Daniel's Sea Cliff Cottage, and it was just as magical as our first. We explored many parts of Eleuthera, but made a point to be at the cottage in the mornings and evenings whenever possible-the view is breathtaking; we even experienced a very strong storm, but felt very safe watching the ocean from our high perch. We didn't get a chance to explore the reefs below the house up close, but we saw many rays and tortoises from the deck, and spotted (and heard) quite a few interesting birds in the brush around the house. Daniel's recommendations of places to visit and providers to work with (we love Gladys!) are spot on. If you are coming to Eleuthera, this is the real experience!

Secluded Gem!

Sea Cliff Cottage was a fabulous place to stay for some peace and quiet and it had an incredible view! It was the prefect spot to come back to after exploring the island. There are so many breathtakingly beautiful beaches to see! Dan was an excellent host and Philip, the caretaker was so kind and very helpful. If you are looking for adventure and a break from the crowds, this is your place!

Privacy with Great Views!

This small cottage was perfect for the two of us. My husband and I enjoyed waking up to the crashing waves on the bluff below, having our morning coffee on the deck as we watched for sea turtles, and exploring the many pink sand beaches in the area. This is a true gem!

We stayed at Sea Cliff Cottage for our first trip to Eleuthera Island. Daniel's cottage is wonderful. The view is incredible! The cottage is perfect, everything is provided for a comfortable stay. It was such fun being able to access the water right there off the cliff at the cottage!

My kind of place

This house (and Eleuthera in general) is my kind of place. The view is outstanding for morning coffee and evening relaxing. It's a very private place which makes it outstanding for a tropical vacation. It is reasonably centrally located to the TOP HALF of the island (about 40 mins south of the northernmost beaches and an hour from Ten Bay. If you plan to go further south than that a lot, you'll be doing a lot of driving). The kitchen was better stocked than I expected for such a remote place (it is missing a few things -- a microwave for reheating coffee and there are no containers to store leftovers. You have to improvise a bit. If you can't deal with that, you probably shouldn't be coming to Eleuthera in the first place.) The house is perfect for 2; I would not want to stay here with more than that. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here and will strongly consider using this house if we come back. I'm grateful to have been able to spend a week on the beautiful island and lovely house.

This was our second time to Eleuthera and have stayed at this location both times. We loved the location. The view off the cliff is amazing. We could spend the entire day there and be happy watching the turtles and occasional dolphins.This was a relatively last minute trip. When I reached out to Daniel to inquire about availability he responded promptly and informed me the dates were available so we went and had a great Christmas. I later learned that Daniel himself was going to be at his property at that time but changed his plans to accommodate us. So, thank you for that!! Can't wait to return!!

Amazing!

I had an absolutely amazing time here! We stayed for our honeymoon and couldn't have been any happier. The view is gorgeous! We would recommend to anyone who wants to get away from your daily life to come here. The place is pretty secluded which is exactly what we wanted. We enjoyed jumping of the cliff and snorkeling around that area. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful.

Spectacular retreat!!

I stayed for 4 nights with my 2 kids and it was absolutely fantastic!! The house is small but works great for a couple or in our case dad and 2 kids. The deck overlooking the cliff and ocean below is magical. At all times of day we could spot sea turtles below and the kids absolutely loved jumping off the platform into the sea 20’ below :). The owner is great and very communicative… oh and is a great artist too!

A Liitle Slice of Heaven

Met my every expectation and then some. I love the simplicity and the natural beauty of this island, and the Sea Cliff Cottage was an amazing home base. The cottage is well appointed and the views are truly awesome. The island people are incredibly friendly. There are many interesting day trips, breathtaking beaches, and wonderful restaurants. If you are looking for glitz and glamour, look elsewhere, but if you are a naturalist at heart, you will not be disappointed!

Incredible!!

My wife and I have stayed all over Eleuthera including Harbour Island and no place we have stayed before has the charm and elevated sea views that this cottage does. The caretaker is wonderful and can answer all questions. For the ultimate getaway from everything, this place cannot be beat! We will be back often.

Great for two

The wife and I spent 4 nights in early May. The location was great with easy access to services and all on North Eleuthera’s beaches and attractions. The cottage is great, perfect for two. We really liked the deck and outside shower. It’s really private and view is amazing complete with regular sea turtle sightings. Access to the water is not for everyone but that’s ok. Overall it was a great experience and we would stay again.

A Gem

This property is absolutely stunning and picturesque. It was clean and homey, with a comfortable bed (albeit a bit low to the ground). The Wi-Fi worked very well, as did all the appliances. Communication with the property owner Daniel was excellent. The caretaker Philip was exceptionally kind as well, going out of his way to help us out.

Stunning

We had such a wonderful experience at this cottage for our anniversary week. The owner was fantastic in his communication. The snorkeling off the back down the ladder was fun as saw many sea turtles in the mornings. Recommendation, rent a small SUV. We used Wilton and he was wonderful wwtcarrental@hotmail.com. We had so many adventures and absolutely loved Eleuthera.

Good but not great

The cottage is beautiful but some basic items would have improved our experience: patio furniture, beach gear (chairs, ice packs) and kitchen items ex: a big salad bowl. It felt a bit like camping.

Magical

This was my 2nd time to stay at this property. I love how private it is…yet Gregory Town is a 5 minute drive away. I love the outdoor shower and the doors that open up onto the deck that provide the most amazing view you can imagine. Not only is the ocean view spectacular but the spectrum of colors reflecting off of the water and the cliffs as the day passes and the jaw dropping sunsets are not to be missed. And then, the starlit sky…indescribable. The house itself is very cozy and decorated with the owner’s amazing artwork…very much an amped up beach cottage vibe. I love this place. I will return. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else. It’s magical…truly.

Excellent stay

Our week at Sea Cliff was wonderful! The views are majestic, the cottage is beautifully decorated, and communication with Daniel was smooth. The location is great, right in Gregory Town not far from restaurants, access to Queens Highway to explore the island, north enough to go to both Spanish Wells, Harbour Island, Queen’s Bath, bridge, Surfers Beach, etc. Being north didn’t stop us from checking out all of the island, even the furthest south, Lighthouse Beach. Truly it was a spectacular week and this home was a big part of that! There is a descent size cooler there to use, gas stove, toaster oven etc. FYI no grill or oven. Sea turtles were out in the water daily, visible from right up on the deck. Snorkeled a bit one day when it was very calm, saw a lot of starfish, one sting ray, and a variety of fish. It is a gem! Thank you Daniel for an amazing stay!

A Little Slice of Heaven

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sea Cliff Cottage. We booked for the views/patio and that amazing little spot to jump off the side of the cliff into the Caribbean Sea and it did not disappoint. Every day started with a cup of tea and sea turtle spotting and every afternoon ended with jumps off the cliff to swim, an outdoor shower, happy hour on the patio trying to spot dolphins passing in the water and stargazing into the most amazing sky I may have ever witnessed. We visited different beaches daily (Surfer's Beach is close by, Gaulding Cay Beach was a short drive and had a fun little spot to snorkel, Current Beach was our favorite spot to wade out onto the sandbars and watch for rays) & Queen's Bath is cool. We took the ferry over to Harbour Island and enjoyed Governer's Harbour, but we mostly just loved up our little cottage. We had brought a Neso tent for shade on the beaches and tied it up to the deck for some shade as there isn't much mid-day and spent a many an afternoon just hanging out at the cottage enjoying the breezes. Because the cottage opens wide to that gorgeous view, you will get some bugs; pesky fruit flies that love the kitchen drains and a few flies and mosquitos. The only thing we should have brought (and left as a parting gift) is one of those electronic tennis-racket bug-zapper things. The mattress could use a foam topper, but we were so tired at night we slept for 9hrs straight and woke up with the sunrise anyway! We will be back!

The Amazing Sea Cliff Cottage

What an amazing house. Barely visible from the road you really get a sense that you are by yourself. Our breath was taken away by this charming house as soon as we set foot on the deck. The stunning views of the horizon, the blue water far below, and the wonderful charm of the cottage kept us saying "wow" for the first hour. Checking in with Mr. Thompson was quick and easy and after that we got straight to the business of relaxing at this wonderful place. We cooked very little but with as well stocked as the cottage was we could have easily whipped up anything in our meal repertoire. The air conditioner kept us plenty cool at night and the comfortable bed was a welcome change from the house we stayed at for the first week of our trip. Showering with the window open in the bathroom shower was almost as fun as showering in the outdoor shower... but not quite. ;-) Conveniently located close enough to Gregory Town to grab some necessities on a whim and run up to Champions (Hi Dee!) for a quick bite. An amazing place and a wonderful memory.

Mother - Daughter retreat week

I traveled to Dan's Sea Cliff Cottage with my 24 year old daughter; having never been to Eleuthera it was a leap of faith for two weary and frozen and Minnesotans. The house was perfect for us, elegant and casual with perfect appointments in kitchen and bedding.... views, views, views ... Can I say more? We decided not to rent a car, but rather walk to surfer's beach and to town for supplies. Everyone was so helpful, we made friends along the way -- people gave us rides, helped out, and yes we always carried cash and tip money for such favors. We did hire Shawn from the "7 eleven" for some tours and rides. The caretaker was helpful and checked in with us which was comforting. We went to " unplug" and we did! Do not expect to stay connected to wifi, you can find it in town. Be prepared to enjoy the fantastic magical realism that Gregory Town offers!

Perfect Island Getaway

My wife and I restarted our travels with this gem of a property and were simply left awestruck by the beauty and seclusion we found. It was perfect for the two of us. From opening the place up completely in the mornings to closing up and sleeping in the air-conditioned comfort there was not a moment that was not incredible. The house sits on a cliff and has a large deck over the water. We saw sea turtles every day during our stay. The view of the ocean during the day is mesmerizing and the stars at night are intensely bright as there is no light pollution. There is no television set which brings about an unexpected sense of relief and escape. The WiFi is fast and strong for the inevitable link to the world. Gregory Town is a welcoming community and Daniel has excellent suggestions in the PDF he provides. We like to drive around and explore Eleuthera but the villa gravity here is difficult to escape. The house is nicely and comfortably furnished and Daniel's artistic touch and talent are evident. Needless to say we were super-impressed with this rental and highly recommend it for couples who want to get way together.

Amazing Cottage, close enough to town for convenience and far enough away for privacy.

Stayed there for 4 nights on our honeymoon in Dec of 2017 and had an amazing time. When you check into this place you're going to start cancelling day trips you had planned just so you can spend more time on the amazing deck overlooking the water. The cottage is less secluded than we initially thought from the pictures online, you can see at least 2 other homes from the outside balcony. Additionally there was some construction work at one of the nearby homes, so lots of banging on metal/concrete. The workshop behind the cottage was being used for cutting tile so that made a lot of noise for us during the daytime. Absolutely loved being able to cook our own meals, and the cottage has everything you need to make an amazing meal. As promised, we were able to get some fresh crab claws from local fishermen and had some amazing meals to ourselves while there. Given the price of going out to eat in the Bahamas... I can't recommend that enough. Make sure to make a day-trip to Harbour Island even if it does mean dragging yourself away from the beautiful ocean view for a while. We saw Sea Turtles swimming below us on at least two occasions, can't wait to go back! -Brett & Kayla

Loved it!

We just departed from our week at the Sea Cliff cottage. If you like an amazing view in a very private setting, this place is for you. Photos look amazing but you really need to be there to appreciate the beauty of the entire setting. We had a nice breeze the entire time we were there. We would wake up early, turn the A/C off, open all the doors and windows. Even though it was in the upper 80’s we never needed to turn the A/C on during the day because how open the cottage is to the sea breeze. The caretaker, Phillip, is a super nice gentleman that we appreciated getting to know. He was available for anything we needed. We also loved the location of Gregorytown. It’s the perfect spot between Harbour Island and Spanish wells to the North and Governor’s Harbour to the south. Gregorytown was especially nice having two of the beaches we enjoyed the most right there, Lovers beach and Surfers beach. We were the only people on both beaches while we were there. If you’ve never visited any of the Bahamas out islands be sure to rent a car, preferably a 4x4. This allows you to get to some of the most remote beaches with no problem. Plus, you’ll be able to take in the overall beauty of the entire island. I highly encourage you to consider staying at the Sea Cliff cottage. We’re already looking at our calendar to see when we can go back.

I am Daniel Caldwell an artist paintings in oils. The Bahamas has been a wonderful muse for my work for over 25 years now. I have built this home as part of the inspiration for my work. I also paint there and share time with my wife Liz our 3 kids William,Lizzie, and Chris . We all and love Eleuthera, the island life and to surf, sail ,dive ,and fish.

Eleuthera is rich in art history.... American Master Winslow Homer painted here 100 years ago and many wonderful artist have followed suit. The island ,offers pristine natural beauty ,laid back and friendly Bahamian culture as well as a new twist ...the surfer / artist culture which evolved in Gregory Town over the last 50 years. This culture keeps great vibe going for those who get it. I will admit it's not for everyone....I've grown to love it and pinch myself to be part of this season in the islands history.

Remote quite , minimal simpler way of life , pristine beauty, fun surf on occasion. Plenty of social life or not.
