Family gathering

Property very complete for our needs. Grandkids love be close to the beach and all of activities of the Ocean Lakes Campground. Would highly recomm end this property for a fun and complete vacation.

I can not say enough wonderful things about this house. The location. The host. It was all just perfect. We’ve stayed in various houses over the last 14 years and by far this house was the most well equipped of any we’ve ever stayed in. The host was the most responsive and helpful. The house was clean. Easy access to beach you could walk !! We will definitely be staying here again! Thank you Mr Oyer!

Great beach house

We were grateful the owners allowed us to book a short stay at their beach house. This beach house was very clean, beautifully decorated, well taken care of, had a well supplied kitchen and very close to the beach. Owner was also a joy to work with.

A place for everyone in the Family

The home was beautiful. All things you need for a wondeful vacation, ocean view, a few steps to the beach, board games if it rains, plenty of space in the home, organized, and clean. Russ was a wonderful host so fast to respond and help with not only questions I had about the beach house but helpful with tips of things to do as well. This is a must stay for any family.

Great Get a Away at Ocean Lakes

My family and I enjoyed staying at this delightful home. It was so nice just being steps away from the beach. We love the fact that the kitchen was roomy with lots of eating space. Also love the outdoor seating on the front deck. The house was spacious and felt like home. We look forward to staying back at this home again!

Perfect house and location!

The house was perfect for our 2 family group with friends. It was SO close to the beach, we didn’t have to worry about getting the rented golf cars back from the teens while they were out and about so that we could get to the beach which was great-such an easy and fast walk to the beach! The location was in a quiet area where you could easily get to the action if you wanted to. The house was clean and fully stocked with everything we needed. When the air conditioning didn’t seem to be working, the owner came to the house within 30 minutes and fixed it. I can’t think of any negatives to say!

Amazing stay at this property

The house was absolutely perfect. Aside from it’s awesome location, the house was well stocked with all the comforts that you can’t always bring with you on vacation. The cabinets were stocked with all the essentials (spices and all staple pantry items) and it was easy for us to relax and enjoy our home away from home for a week. It’s easy to tell that the home owners have their guests in mind and do all that they can to ensure that we’re comfortable and have the best stay.

A little bit of Heaven!

The Oyers beach house was perfect!! They provide a well appointed beach retreat! Their attention to detail made my extended stay care free and most enjoyable. The location provides beach access and I will miss my daily beach walks. There are many places in the area to rent, but I feel I made an excellent choice in renting from the Oyers

Perfect Beach house

Home was very clean, stocked with essentials. A/C was great. Beds were comfortable. Russell was great at communicating with me. This was my first time renting through VRBO and this experience was great! Ocean lakes is a great family place. My family had a great time!

Well appointed, great location!

Russ was an amazing communicator and host. The house was very well stocked with blankets and spices and we really liked the “pay it forward” attitude; leaving little treats for the next guest. The house is the perfect size and was very clean. Easy access to the beach and we loved that we could use the beach chairs and toys for the kids since flying with those items is impossible. We will be renting from him again. Thank you for a great vacation!

Loved our Stay

My family stayed here during Christmas week (Dec 21 - Dec 28 2019) and absolutely loved it. The house is amazing from top to bottom. Very clean and well appointed. My wife loved the way it was decorated. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need. As far as the location, it is hard to beat. It is only a few steps from the beach and all of the ammenities of Ocean Lakes. We would definitely recommend staying here.

I loved the house & the location was perfect.

We enjoyed our week. The house was great ,the golf cart parades at night were a hit with our kids . They enjoyed the basketball and volleyball courts . We enjoyed the pool and slides a lot . It was such a relaxing place. We honestly didn’t have to leave the OL much at all . We would definitely go back.

Home away from home

Our family had a wonderful time at this beach house. It was very clean and spacious. We had family with little ones that were able to have their own space and sleep peacefully. This house is located just yards away from the beach which made it so convenient to walk back and forth. The owner is very easy to communicate with and answered any questions l had promptly. We will definitely rent this house again.

Fantastic Week!!

We had such a great week! House was perfect for our needs. Ocean Lakes in itself is a great location for kids and adults, from the water park, basketball courts, cornhole etc. This location made it even better because it was so close to the beach! The owner, Russ, was also super attentive, responsive and accommodating throughout the entire process and that really makes a difference. We will definitely be back!

Amazing

This was an amazing vacation. I can not say enough good things about the owner. He would respond to any questions immediately and also gave his cell number if any issues arose. The house was very clean and so close to the beach that we were able to take pictures from the porch. There were even beach toys and chairs so we didn't have to bring them on our 13 hr drive to Myrtle Beach.

Great Beach Getaway

Our family of 8 had a great time at the beach for Spring Break even though it was a bit chilly. We enjoyed the stocked home and had everything we needed! The only thing that seemed to be an issue was the water getting cold when we were all trying to take showers (we’re used to our tankless water heater!) Overall, we had plenty of space and a great view! Enjoyed playing cornhole on the deck. Thanks again!

Fun House in a Great Location

This beach house really is exactly 77 steps to the beach. It is decorated in a fun decor and is very spacious and comfortable. We like to cook and the kitchen was supplied with everything we needed. The weather was cold and very rainy so we did not get to enjoy the spacious decks and furniture. The only thing missing was our grandchildren. Guess we will have to come back!!

Very impressed!!!

My family had a wonderful stay! The house comfortably fit 9 of us- 5 adults and 4 children. We all agreed that the house was better than described! The kitchen did not lack a thing! All the dishes, pots and pats and even a coffee maker, microwave, toaster and blender made the stay easy. The proximity to grocery stores to fill to the fridge and pantry was great! The 4 bedrooms and 2 and 1/2 bathrooms gave everyone the space they needed. The living room and dining room made evenings easy and comfortable. The house truly is wonderful! It's so close to the beach and the bin full of chairs and sand toys makes a beach day just right! We all enjoyed walking the Ocean Lakes property and visiting the pool and Sandy Mart. Russ was easy to communicate with and very easy to work with. My son and I, my parents and my sister's family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in April 2016. I immediately came home and encouraged people to check out Ocean Lakes properties via Home Away (specifically Russ) and book an affordable and awesome vacation!

Thank you for that wonderful review! We aim to please. This is not just a rental property, we actually spend a couple of weeks in the house every year. We try to have every amenity in the beach house that we have in our full time home. It's great families like yours that treat the house with respect that make it all worthwhile.

We reside in Murrells Inlet, SC. I grew up in NJ. My wife is originally from WV. Our son is a 911 dispatcher for the Rockland County, NY Emergency Services and our daughter, who is a speech pathologist, lives in Alaska with her husband and 2 young daughters.

Our family has vacationed in Ocean Lakes every summer since we discovered the place in 1992. Our kids loved the place and still do as adults. We would bring their bikes and when they weren't on the beach they would ride to the arcade or pool. In 2006 we purchased our beach house and are happy to give other families the chance to have the Ocean Lakes experience

We fell in love with this house because of the closeness to the beach. 77 steps! No need to drive the golf cart or look for a parking spot. The open floor plan is also an attribute.
