Fabulous location. Loved the deck view of the water, and quick steps to the beach. Great having the hot tub and pool too. There were a number of maintainance issues throughout our stay - some were adressed, some were not. Broken dishwasher, broken washing machine, faulty golf cart, jammed doors and windows that would not open. Really wish there had been an option for this to be one residence - a door on the deck perhaps - rather than having to go up and down both sides every time.

This was our first trip to North Captiva, which resulted in a lot of questions about the process. Shally's Seashells Vacation Rental was the property manager and were very responsive to our questions. Our group consisted of 2 families and we rented both of the properties. To start our trip, we used Island Girl Ferry. They were very helpful getting all of our luggage and boxes on and off the boat and did not charge extra (although tips were appreciated). We brought enough food and drink for the entire week, so there was a lot to be transported. Shally's picked us up at the dock with a trailer for our luggage, etc. and transported this to the house. The property was excellent and as billed in the description and pictures. If anything the kitchen was much better stocked in reality than described and there were tons of beach toys kayaks and paddle boards for use (that were not included in the listing description). Our kids loved playing the heated pools in the mornings when it was a little cooler (early April) and then hitting the beach in the afternoons. The shelling on the beaches is excellent as advertised. We did rent a boat one day through Boats and Fun. The boat was well equiped with gps so we did not get lost and was a good way to see more of the area. We definitely recommend this house and area for those looking for a family beach vacation where you want to feel like you have escaped to another place!
