Casa Perros Afortunados (Casa de los Perros de la Suerte) es una casa de alquiler de vacaciones privada de 2.500 pies cuadrados recientemente renovada en el pintoresco pueblo pesquero de Puerto Morelos, Q. R., México, a solo 25 minutos del aeropuerto de Cancún. Un corto paseo a la playa o una caminata de cuatro minutos a los restaurantes y tiendas alrededor de la plaza del pueblo. La casa tiene tres dormitorios y tres baños. Dos de las habitaciones son master suites idénticas en el segundo piso, cada una con camas king-size de alta calidad, baños completos y amplios balcones. Wonderful for family stays!

We brought both sets of our parents down with us for the first time and they had a wonderful time. The house was perfect in every way. Within walking distance to all our favorite things and plenty of local wildlife to engage with. I would highly recommend this place for anybody with a group size from 5 to 6 people.

Excellent Holiday Stay

My two adult daughters, their partners, and I stayed at this property for 11 nights over Christmas and New Year. The house was perfect for us and is as described and portrayed in the pictures. Puerto Morelos is very safe and walkable, and the house is well situated for the 5-10 minute walk to the great beach, local (excellent!) coffee shop, restaurants, or supermarket. Katherine was very responsive before and during our stay. Would stay here again.

The spacious house was better than we imagined. We loved the pool, well supplied kitchen, and the balconies. The caretaker, Lucio, was available and helpful. We will definitely be back.

This place is the best!

This large 3-bedroom home is walking distance to everything. The kitchen is large and well equipped, and there's a private plunge pool on the roof. But the best feature for us was having two huge king master suites since we were there with another adult couple. That's a very rare commodity for vacation rentals. And Russ, the owner/manager, is top notch! You won't find a better host to deal with, believe me. We highly recommend this property.

Lovely house with lots of room. Clean. Realize it is the tropics but the main floor bedroom needs extra fumigating for ants, otherwise the bugs were not a problem. Would've liked access to the washer and dryer for the beach towels. Very comfy beds. Excellent attention from the caretaker Lucio.

So glad that you liked the house, its cleanliness, the beds, and our wonderful manager Lucio. I just want to clarify that access to the washer and dryer is available. In the listing section about rates there is a note "Washer/Dryer is an option available onsite in rear bodega building for additional $25/week. A Laundromat is located 200 meters away on same street." We make it optional to hold down the rental costs for those who will not use them. And regarding ants in the ground floor bedroom, you're right that in the tropics they will arrive quickly. It's important to be careful not to leave any food out. That's one of the reasons we keep the house so clean, as you mentioned. Thanks for booking your vacation at our house. We appreciate your comments. - Russ.

Lovely Home

We had a wonderful time at this house with my two adult daughters and their significant others. I love the decor of this home. It was so nice to go to the beach club (unico) and then return home to this lovely place. The pool was a nice bonus. We felt comfortable contacting the owner for any concerns. I love the location. Just steps away from a nice bar/restaurant… and being across the street from the convenience store was very “convenient” :-)… the owners of the SIX(convenience store) were sweet people. Definitely recommend staying here. It was fun to get to know some of the local people.

Great house for a large group

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is perfect for a group of 6 and is in a great location. The beach, restaurants and shopping are all short walks. There is a fantastic breakfast place about 100 feet away and a little shop with snacks and drinks right across the street. The furniture is comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. The dining table is large enough for everyone to dine together or play games, and the rooftop terrace is wonderful with covered seating, a bar and a small pool. The back courtyard is also pleasant and the ping pong table was a lot of fun. There are a lot of excellent restaurants on the next street over and a modern, well stocked grocery store a few blocks away.

Great location, great space

We took a quick trip with two adults and two teens and this place had elbow room for everyone. We joked that we could have brought more people. The rooftop pool is a great amenity and the house is stocked with all sorts of necessities from cooking (pots, pans, some food staples) to enjoying a day at the beach (umbrella, chairs, mats.) Loved having access to the bikes to explore (a lock would have made it even better to eliminate worry!). Close to everything. Lucio was so friendly and helpful— not that we needed a thing. The rooster didn’t even bother us! We will be back.

We were the lucky dogs at the "Lucky "Dog"!

What a fantastic home for our group of 8 adults (ages 20-57). We especially loved the two bedrooms with king-sized beds which were like having your own Junior Suite at a resort - super comfy beds, pillows and linens and each with a beautiful balcony to enjoy either the ocean-view or the mangroves view, plus huge ensuite. Plenty of space for all of us, which was a blessing when we experienced a week of heavy rain. The third level with the moroccan seating area and pool were our favourite spot to hang out at - it was so magical especially in the evenings. The first order of business was moving the blender from the kitchen to the bar area on that 3rd level and many happy pina coladas and margueritas were enjoyed. The kitchen was super well-appointed (lots of dishes, cookware, utensils, small appliances, etc) with a full-sized fridge and stove/oven plus the use of a charcoal bbq (had a few seafood feasts on that puppy!). We made good use of the ping pong table (the young adults playing beer-pong), as well as the two bicycles and the folding beach chairs and beach umbrella. The beach was just a few minutes walk (about a block) away, and walking to the centre of the village to enjoy the many restaurants was also just a couple of minutes walk. I can't imagine a better location for a family home with the best of both worlds (beach/mangroves/town access). The house manager, Lucio, was super lovely and helpful and came around regularly to ensure everything was fine. His wife and daughters did the housecleaning, while his 75 year old father came around pretty much daily to do gardening chores. We felt totally safe in Puerto Morelos, and the young women in our group were never concerned about walking home at night from the town centre. We were lucky enough to meet the owners, Russ and Leanne, on our first day and it made it all the more special to know we were enjoying their lovely home. We had taken their advice and booked in advance and online "USA Transfers" for transportation to/from the airport - a good choice! Having the wi-fi was great for all of electronic-gadget-addicted folks, and there was a Magic Jack phone available although we did not use this. Also didn't take advantage of the Media Room (too much to see/do/visit), but it was there if we needed it. Our two weeks went by way too fast, and if the opportunity arises we would definately book "Casa Perros Afortunados" again in a heartbeat!

The owner and property manager were very quick to respond. The location was great, walking distance to the beach and restaurants and quiet. The plunge pool was wonderful. The kitchen was well stocked. Clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again..

Fabulous property

Puerto Morelos is a quaint village. Excellent restaurants and beautiful beaches, all within walking distance. The house has everything you need, including a rooftop pool. This is one of my favorite properties.

7 Days in PM

This was our first time staying in Puerto Morelos. We have had day visits in the past. The location is ideal for walking around the entire town. The space for the seven adults was also perfect. Loved spending time on the roof top and playing ping pong.. The kitchen provided everything we needed to prepare meals. Lucio responded to all my messages within minutes as well as any requests we had. Russell the owner as well was very helpful with recommendations and was quick to reply even when on Safari!! We would definitely return again.

Great house, great location

House is very much as advertised. Two or three short blocks from the beach -- maybe a three-minute walk, tops. Beds are comfortable and AC units cool rooms quickly. Rooftop bar and pool catch a good breeze. We had a minor hiccup with the water shutting off, but Lucio came over quickly and fixed it within an hour. Lots of good restaurants are an easy walk. We rented a car, which we parked off street in the courtyard without incident, and which gave us easy access to restaurants on the colonia side of town, which were also very good and much cheaper. Puerto Morelos is a great place to visit, and the snorkeling in particular was awesome.

Puerto Morelos holiday

We stayed at this house for 9 days at the end of March and we all feel fortunate to have had the opportunity! The house was spacious and comfortable. It was beautifully finished with lots of gorgeous wood trim and whimsical decor. We would start our day with coffee and croissants from the Bellville bakery listening to all the birds on the back patio and end our afternoon having Happy hour and a dip in the pool on our rooftop patio. The location was good too. Quiet but close to good restaurants, the beach, and town square. Thanks Russ l hope we can return again soon!!!

Amazing House

We just returned from a month at this property and we miss it already. The house is beautiful and very comfortable. Lucio the manager was always so very helpful if we needed anything. Russ the property owner was prompt with all correspondence before and during our stay. The air conditioner in our bedroom wasn't working, it was replaced within a few days, very timely. The house is well equipped with everything you need. We loved it so much we've already rebooked.

AMAZING ANNIVERSARY!!!

I can not RAVE enough about this property!!! The grounds were beautiful, the property is beautiful, the neighbors are so friendly, the walk to beach, stores, shops and anything you can imagine is with in walking distance. Adorable property with plenty of space and amazing location!

Russ was super nice from the start, recommending transfer services and car rentals that we never would have found ourselves. The property was super clean and well furnished and the ac pumped COLD - it was perfect after walking the block or two to dinner (literally) and coming back. Amazing location. We spent most of our evenings on the roof but - beware - pack LOTS of bug spray. I should’ve used more and that’s my fault, but there are tons of mosquitoes because - well, you’re right next to the jungle. We enjoyed both Louis’ friendliness and recommendations and his wife who cleaned once while we were there. Seriously the only negatives I can come up with are - mosquitos (which will be everywhere) & there was only one tv in the middle sitting area on the second floor. We watch lots of tv when hungover - but it didn’t matter bc everything was in Spanish anyway. Great place and seemed much larger than in the pics! Will rent again!

We're excited to be offering this property for rental; a house that has been a well-loved destination for many groups over the last 10 years. When searching for our vacation home on the Mayan Riviera, we considered both what we wanted in the location, as well as what we did not want. Of course we needed walking access to the beautiful blue Caribbean water. We also wanted easy access to the Cancun Airport to make it an easy trip for visitors. We wanted an authentic Mexican experience, where you know you're in Mexico, and not surrounded by predictable glass and steel high-rise resorts that could be on a beach anywhere. We wanted a small location with the colorful and interesting experience of having locals as neighbors. Where we could easily walk to cool cafes, restaurants, diving and snorkeling, and local Mayan markets.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We found all that and more in Puerto Morelos. A seaside fishing village perched between a stunning reef-protected beach and mangrove jungle, both beautiful features that prevent excessive growth of the town. Yet it's just a 25 minute drive to the Cancun international airport. So with privacy as a main objective, we chose a recently built two story house a block and a half off the beach, and just two blocks to the shops and restaurants around the main square. Close enough to stroll easily to either, yet set just far enough away for privacy. Then to enhance the experience, we built up the top of the house, adding a rooftop observation deck with our own large terrace and pool for complete privacy and a 360 degree view that includes the ocean reef, the lighthouse, the coco palm treetops and the mangrove jungle. Inside, we have upgraded the decor, kitchen, WiFi, music systems, etc. to provide modern luxuries. We are proud of what we have accomplished. We love our time here and invite you to enjoy it as well.
