Ideal para su escapada de fin de semana de otoño con amigos o familiares. Haga su selección de recorridos / degustaciones de bodegas, recolección de manzanas o caminatas por el colorido bosque de otoño.
Estamos ubicados en el lado "lago" de Red Arrow Highway en 2. 5 acres arbolados. Durante el verano, camine las rápidas 2 cuadras hacia la playa o monte una de las bicicletas que proporcionamos. Hay un portabicicletas en el estacionamiento de la playa. También puede conducir a la playa si lo prefiere. El estacionamiento es permitido solo los fines de semana; proporcionamos el pase de estacionamiento para su acceso.
Esta es una casa familiar durante todo el año que se puede disfrutar las cuatro estaciones. A poca distancia a pie de Cherry Beach del lago Michigan, cerca de muchas tiendas, restaurantes, panaderías, bodegas y cervecerías de Harbor Country. Excelente ubicación para practicar ciclismo, senderismo, esquí de fondo o simplemente pasar el rato. Los colores del otoño son increíbles, y cuando nieva, ¡estás en un paraíso invernal!
Nuestra casa es una sala de estar / comedor / cocina de dos pisos en el piso principal. También en el primer piso hay un gran dormitorio con capacidad para 6 personas que tiene su propia entrada. Tres dormitorios y dos baños completos en el piso de arriba. El dormitorio principal tiene su propio baño. Porche con mosquitero en la parte delantera le permite disfrutar del aire libre, incluso si está lloviendo. La terraza en el patio trasero es perfecta para tomar el sol por la tarde. El fogón en el patio es ideal para asar malvavisco para s'mores después de la cena. La hamaca es ideal para una siesta por la tarde!

Thanksgiving trip

Lovely home. Went for annual family Thanksgiving a few miles away. Home was very nice, kitchen well stocked. Was perfect for my wife and I, two of our married children and their spouses and two of our teenagers. Would definitely stay there again.

Family reunion

A wonderful place for our summer reunion (we come from both coasts), and a pleasant, roomy, comfortable house for all of us (ages 12 to 85). We like the privacy of the woodsy grounds; the big, well-equipped kitchen is great for collaborative cooking; there's excellent air-conditioning in case of need; and the beach is perfect. This was our second summer there, need I say more?

We had a nice weeklong stay at this home, 4 adults and 5 elementary age kids. Spent lots of time at beaches, enjoyed the canopy walk and kayaking nearby Galien river, exploring antique/vintage stores, a few meals out and a few grilling at home. Home is spacious and has lovely art, we were all able to have enough space to be there together and also get alone time if needed.Highlights: well-stocked kitchen, plenty of bath towels (although only about 6 beach towels so better to pack those if you are able), great bedroom setup for families with kids, ability to bike to nearby beach on nice pedestrian trail. Cons: listing stated laundry under amenities, however there is no such thing; I decided to pack "simply" assuming I'd be able to do some laundry and re-wear clothes/swimsuit, and instead had to spend a full morning of our vacation doing tons of laundry at an expensive laundromat. It was a bummer and an unwelcome surprise. We would have packed much differently had we known this. Internet was spotty, worked well for basic vacation things but a couple of us had to work intermittently/do zoom meetings and needed to go elsewhere since it wasn't working well enough (nearby library was lovely and reliable!)

Everything Needed Under One Roof!

This is my family’s (12 total) second stay at this house for our summer vacation. Colleen is a pleasure to work with. She was quick to answer our questions prior to our visit, and quick to respond to our texts with questions while we were there. House was very clean and well maintained. It had plenty of supplies. The location is perfect for beaches, ice cream, and coffee. All our favorite vacation activities. Plenty of room inside, and a nice big yard for the kids to play outside. I think the deer were spying on us, as they were around often. Our grandson said several times that he wished he lived there. We will be back again if Colleen will have us. Thanks for sharing your house with us!

Great Stay!

We stayed with a group of 10: four adults and six children ages 7 mo, 2.5, 3, 5, 8, and 11 years (cousins). It was the first time the cousins had gotten to go on vacation together and it was a wonderful time. The house provided a perfect home base for exploring the area. The bunk room was great for the older kids and the adults made good use of the upstairs bedrooms with the littlest kids. The kitchen was well stocked and allowed us to feed the whole group. One minor critical note, many of the provided pans were non-stick, and what wasn't was a little on the small side. So if you plan to fill the house and cook for the whole group, consider bringing some larger pots and pans from home. The yard was large and surrounded by forest that the kids eagerly explored and played in. The shed was just as well stocked as the kitchen. The surrounding area had lots to do, even in the off season. All in all it was a great trip and we hope to return at some point in the future!

Great Family Week

Everything about our week was as I had hoped. No issues getting access to the house. The driveway was hard to find. Colleen's pictures and description of the house were very accurate. We had 6 adults, and 5 children under the age of 6 in our family. And with permission from Colleen, my 86 year old mother-in-law- was able to join us for a couple of days. The house is laid out perfectly for large groups. The kitchen was well stocked and everything was in good working order. Only thing we really missed (just a bit) was a toaster, however, I didn't spend much time looking for it if it was there. The yard and the back deck were our favorite areas to spend time, with plenty of seats and room for the kids to run and play. Cherry Beach and Warren Dunes State Park were the beaches we used and not once were we disappointed. The screened in front porch was used in the evening for playing games, and although Collen said the mosquitoes might be annoying, we spent several nights around the fire without any trouble. I would recommend this property, and if it works for our family to visit again, and if Colleen will have us, we would rent this house again. Thank you, Colleen for your hospitality and kindness.

Family beach time

We were looking for a place to stay on Lake Michigan. We have been going up to this area for 19 years. We like to be within walking distance to the beach. This location was not as close as we had hoped. One message we received was that we would have a parking pass for free private beach parking, another said it was two blocks away. There was no parking pass and the parking at Cherry Beach was $15.00. The lot filled up quickly and there was not a place to park. The actual walking distance was .77 miles. This was too far for our two year old granddaughter. We did end up going to Harbert Beach where we were able to park along the road and walk a short distance to the beach. This beach was a bit smaller, but we were able to set up a sun shelter and chairs. The beaches here in this area are beautiful with lots of sand. The house itself was lovely with a large well kept lawn, an out door deck and a screened in deck. There was lots of space for people to spread out and enjoy the indoors or outdoors. We had an issue with the smoke alarm batteries causing them to beep, but the owners were helpful with directions on how to replace the batteries. If we had known the issue of the distance to the beach and limited parking, we would have planned better for transporting our children, chairs and shelter to the beach. We all liked the house a lot and would book it again. There also lovely wineries, restaurants, and bakeries nearby.

We really enjoyed this property. All ages, 19 months to 87 years, were easily accommodated. Cherry beach is beautiful. We made use of the fire pit and screened porch. The property was very clean and well equipped. We all enjoyed ourselves.

Great family spot.

This a big, beautiful home. Great kitchen, roomy bedrooms. The best feature is the huge yard and deck, plus Cherry Beach on Lake Michigan is a 1 minute car ride away. Warren Dunes State Park is about 10 minutes away. Coleen and Joe were very responsive. Can't wait to return!

Great house!

Our group of 8 spanning three generations had a great week here, and we thought the photos didn’t do the house justice. There was plenty of room for a big crew, with a pleasant outdoor deck and a big open common room for socializing. We appreciated the assortment of family games and the well-equipped kitchen, since we love to cook (ask Colleen about the hidden utensil drawer)! It’s a short drive or bike ride to lovely Cherry Beach - it’s also walkable but less pleasant. Beach sunsets are a must!

Excellent property!

Our group consisted of four adults, and seven children and we all were able to sleep comfortably. We enjoyed taking the trail to the beach, and evenings around the fire pit. Perfect getaway

This was our second time renting this house. It's the perfect space for a large group. House was super clean and stocked with everything you would need. Communication with Coleen was amazing, always got right back to you. Our family enjoyed the fire pit almost every night. You can't go wrong by renting this property!

Loved it!

We will be back! This location is perfect and had enough space for all of us. We loved that there were little touches, like toys for my 3 yr old and a pack in play in case we had forgotten. Even though the weather was not so great, we were able to explore Cherry beach, which was a nice, quiet change of pace from the New Buffalo beach.

Our family weekend at Lake Michigan

What a relaxing, and enjoyable visit we had at your home. We made a few stops along the way visiting the Neil Armstrong Air & Space Museum in Wapakoneta, OH and then at the LaPorte County Society Historical Museum, in LaPorte, IN. We arrived late afternoon, only with a slight delay to find the specific location, but we blame that on our GPS missing the turn. Once we located the driveway which is slightly hidden by the trees, it was easy from there. The house and large yard, were just as we pictured. Even though the weather was a bit cool, we were warmed by the welcoming environment of your home. Everything was bright and clean as we walked through the house. The grandchildren couldn't wait to explore and pick out their rooms for the weekend! The open concept was perfect for meals in the kitchen as our grand kids enjoyed their breakfasts of scrambled eggs, bacon, and pancakes at the large breakfast bar. In the evenings we all enjoyed games played in the living room area. And on Sunday afternoon, what an great time our family had at a beach we discovered in St. Joseph with playground, beach amenities, and splash pad for the grand kids. A few of the adults also took quiet walks along Cherry Beach, which was very close to the house. Sunday evening we cooked out with the provided grill and played corn hole and tossed frisbee. Thank you Coleen for such an wonderful weekend! We would recommend your home to anyone looking for a time to bond with and reconnect with family.

Comfy, clean, well-appointed home

Very nice home with everything we needed from kitchen supplies to beach towels to games. Cherry Beach is described as a 10 minute walk away, but part of the walk is along busy Red Arrow Highway so we opted to drive. It’s a great beach for swimming. Warren Dunes State Park was only ten minutes’ drive and worth the $9 entry fee - lots of fun waves, dunes for climbing, concessions and new bathrooms. Thanks, Coleen for sharing your vacay home!

Imagine the perfect family vacation!

So...imagine you arrive with your family of adult children and grandchildren, drive down the long driveway into a secluded grove of trees and find the house just as pictured on VRBO. Open the door to beautiful, light-filled, sparkling clean home with a large dining room space and an open kitchen that I swear 4 people can cook in at the same time while someone else is at the sink doing dishes. The countertop wraps around two sides of the kitchen and is accessible from both sides with stools for perching and chatting with the chefs and sous chefs. And it's not huge--just perfectly designed. Then imagine seeing the living room space on the other side of the kitchen--yes kinda small, but with those countertop stools for additional seating and tons of windows and opening onto a side porch with an overarching trellis covered with leafy vines and sparkling little lights. The porch wraps around to a full deck across the back of the house, lots of chairs, table with umbrella for shade, and, yes, this is where you will spend a lot of time...especially at night with the outdoor sound system, and of course with your morning coffee. There was plenty of deck space for all 10 of us plus babies and toddler. The view from the deck is a large, private back yard...perfect for yard games.. and the deep woods that surround it. And of course a fire pit with a picnic table. Bedrooms were perfect, bunk room much appreciated by the singles in our family, bathrooms again perfect and get this...stocked with 26 bath towels, plus washcloths and hand towels and 13 beach towels. My husband counted! Oh, that's not all---in the closets you'll find a treasure trove of traditional family games, in the kitchen everything you'll need including a huge collection of spices, pots, pans, utensils, plates, bowls, mugs, and in the outdoor shed beach and yard toys, beach umbrellas, boogie boards, croquet!, etc. In other words, we didn't need to bring anything but our bathing suits and clothes! What a gift!! The only thing we missed was a little apartment-sized washer and dryer to help with the little kids' clothes, but we hand-washed and took advantage of the very substantial clothes line. The beach itself is gorgeous and Lake Michigan was warm and wonderful. We are grateful for Coleen's attention to everything a family vacation needs to make it a truly stress-free week....Pam and Michael

We would totally rent from them again. Communication was amazing. Beautiful house, really enjoyed the fire pit, cornhole, and beach equipment. Kitchen was fully stocked. We had an amazing time!

Great family getaway!

We had a wonderful vacation at Cherry Beach with our family; the house is fairly secluded and yet close to a beach and small-town amenities. We were able to sleep 12 and could potentially have even fit in 1 or 2 more, although some mattresses are definitely more comfortable than others. The kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, linens, spices, etc., and towels and paper products were plentiful as well. Everything was clean and in good working order, and although there is air conditioning, we also appreciated all the wonderful windows we could open to let in fresh air. The hosts were helpful when we had to email questions, and also surprised us with a welcome-to-our-home treat which we greatly appreciated. The bikes provided need a bit of work. The yard backs up to a wildlife preserve, providing lots of room to explore in the woods. While a parking pass is provided for nearby Cherry Beach, it has a long staircase down to the beach so we opted to drive an extra 10 minutes to Weko Beach. It was absolutely beautiful - large beach, nice beachhouse with indoor bathrooms and concession stand, overlooks you could climb up to if you want, and a boat launch. The house is about 1/2 hour north of Michigan City, Indiana where we thoroughly enjoyed a visit to the Washington Park Zoo, and 1/2 hour south of St. Joseph where we spent a pleasant afternoon at Silver Beach. The pizza place right at the corner on Red Arrow Highway was very good, and we also enjoyed our first-ever visit to Texas Corral so much we went back again at the end of the week. I also can highly recommend Hidden Pointe Fun Park, where we played 18 holes of mini golf on a very well-maintained course. We would definitely recommend this lovely home and hope to return there ourselves someday!
