Un amistoso encanto de pueblo, con una encantadora vista del puerto desde el paseo de la viuda.

Recientemente restaurada, esta encantadora casa de campo y casa de hu��spedes del siglo XIX se encuentra justo en el centro de Hope Town. Relájese en el porche delantero después de un día soleado en la playa. Disfrute de una vista al atardecer del faro y el puerto y el océano desde la terraza de la azotea.
La casa principal es abierta y espaciosa, con dos dormitorios, uno de matrimonio y el otro con dos camas individuales. Ambas habitaciones comparten un baño grande. La cocina está totalmente equipada con mostradores de granito, electrodomésticos de acero inoxidable y barra de desayuno.
La casa de huéspedes de un dormitorio se encuentra junto a la casa principal y tiene su propio baño privado. Ambas casas están a pocos pasos de las playas, tiendas y restaurantes.

The beach is right across the street and is truly a beautiful view from the overlook. There is a mother in Law suite on the grounds and has a generator. The generator did come in handy for us so that was a key bonus. Home was spotless and had everything we needed for our week's stay. We truly enjoyed meandering the streets and was never a far walk back from home. The Post Office ferry is very close as well. The staff were extremely accommodating and picked us up from the ferry when we arrived, and took our bags to store in their office for the day as we had a late departure. Would recommend staying here again, and using the Property team, too! Thanks so much again!!

We decided to do something different this year and stayed in Hope Town proper. It was AMAZING! The house was just right. Mornings on the beach just across the street for sunrises. Evenings on the porch to sip a cocktail and watch the passersby. Convenience to everything in Hope Town and the rest of the island. Elbow Cay Properties was always at the ready to assist before, during our stay and with our departure. I highly recommend Elbow Cay Properties and the sweet, well appointed Green Shutters house.

Wonderful Family Stay at Green Shutters

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of four (myself, husband, 2yr and 4yr old daughters) rented Green Shutters for 5 days. It was perfect for our short stay. Location is ideal, right in the heart of town and in walking distance to everywhere. It was so easy to pop over to Cap'n Jacks or the beach or to our golf cart. Our girls loved sitting on the front porch in the evenings, saying hi to passerby's and playing while we sipped on our happy hour wines. Inside, the layout was great for our family. Spacious areas for the girls to play and despite all our beach gear never felt like it got crowded. Plenty of pots & pans for cooking. A previous commenter stated well stocked, which it is for cleaning supplies, but no spices of any kind, just salt & pepper (which is to be expected). Mattresses were comfy, pillows were thick and stiff so we stole some off the couches for better sleep. Having a generator during our stay in July when the power continuously knocked out was such a treat. AC blasted strong! Some loose tiles in the master bedroom that need repair but didn't impact our stay at all. All in all, it was a perfect stay and we would rent again in a heartbeat!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented Green Shutters for a week in June/2003. The house is well located in the settlement, and it fits perfectly a family of four. We did not use the extra room outside but it's ideal for one extra couple. The outside room has a bit of a smell, but it will probably go away if you leave the windows open for a day. The house is very charming, well decorated, pretty much like the photos. It has all the appliances you need, plus extra towels to take when boating/going to the beach. The team at Elbow Cay was very helpful, I would definitely work with them again and can't wait to be back in Hopetown!

If you are renting a boat it is in the middle of both public dock so easy to get a spot to park the boat. Also so nice the the beach is just a few steps up the hill. The location is centered for ease of walking to anywhere...Vernon’s grocery, captain jacks, souvenirs shopping, hopetown docks. Perfect. We rented the guest house as well. Both houses had cold AC and hot water. Just out the front door is a sitting spot to take in all sunrises and sunsets.

The house is all new inside and bright and spacious. The kitchen has all new appliances and well stocked. The beach is just over the hill in front of the house, you can't see the water from the house (but you can hear the waves!)We were six people and used the two bedrooms in the house and the guest house (which is just out the front door. The guest house bathroom is a bit small but nothing wrong with it. The main house has a very large, spacious living room area with lots of places to sit and relax. The front porch was big with ceiling fans.The staff was very helpful in getting us checked in after a long flight delay.Absolutely no complaints about this house. We had such a great week, sad to leave.

Fantastic Location with a Few Suggestions

You cannot beat this location on Elbow Cay. A short walk to Vernon's grocery store, Captain Jack's restaurant, and liquor store in the middle of Hope Town. A very short walk over the park hill in front takes you right to the beach. The bench at the top of the small hill is nice for morning coffee. (the small hill was a cholera burial site during the 1850's) The house itself is very nicely remodeled - single floor with a large great room (kitchen, dining area, living room, and half bath) and two bedrooms that connect to a large bathroom. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other, two singles. The next door cottage is also nice with a bedroom and bathroom. The only caveat is that there was no hot water during our stay (Feb 2022). Our family was in the Bahamas for a wedding. Showers in the main house were at best lukewarm. Showers in the cottage were always cold. This may not be an issue during warmer times of the year. There was also a lot of traffic on the road in front due to all the construction post Hurricane Dorian (this may drop off during the main tourist season). The rental provides some soap and TP, but no shampoo and the hair dryer did not work. The wifi internet was fast (60-70 mB) in the main house, but does not reach the cottage. All in all, we would definitely stay here again.

Such a great cottage

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our two daughters and my husband and I stayed at Green Shutters during a family reunion. The cottage was very clean and shipshape and there were plenty of dishes and pots and pans for us to cook with. Our daughters stayed in the house and reported the beds were very comfortable, and my husband and I stayed in the separate and comfortable mini-cottage, where we had our own bathroom. We often used the outdoor shower when coming back from swimming in the ocean, just a short walk over the hill (aka the cemetery) across the street. Two small hiccups -- the password for the internet didn't work, and the water pump malfunctioned -- were quickly fixed. We were impressed to learn that Green Shutters sheltered 75 people after Hurricane Dorian hit in 2019.

Green Shutters with a scenic view

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This turned out to be the most nicely furnished and organized of the 3 homes we needed. It is perfect for a couple with one or 2 little ones, then a separate little studio for Auntie. It is a hike up the steps to the widows walk, but worth the view. It is also next door to the wine bar and restaurant. A lovely stretch of beach is easily accessed across from Green Shutters.
