Direct Oceanfront Studio Cottage ubicado justo detrás de las dunas del océano, a pasos de la playa, perfecto para una o dos personas. Top ubicación a tres millas al sur de Hope Town entre dos estaciones de Elbow Cay populares en White Sound en Elbow Cay. Hermoso amanecer sobre el océano. El Dockage en White Sound está directamente al otro lado de la carretera y el espacio para hasta 24 'de popa para barco anclado está incluido en el alquiler. Location is great! The view over the dunes is beautiful. Wish the sliding door on the porch was a little easier to open. Otherwise all was as pictured. Great island with friendly people!

Great place for two people

My wife and I stayed at Sea Oats in June of 2024 and it was great. It in between Sea Spray Marina and Abaco Inn. The place was clean and worked out great for us.

I am glad you enjoyed your stay in Abaco at Sea Oats. I am unsure about how the minimal furniture and kitchen would differ from expectations? The photos and description in the listing show what is in the cottage. The amenities list also is accurate. Though the kitchen is small, it does have all basic utensils and small appliances as described. For all guests, please observe pictures and know that the space size is somewhat similar to hotel room but it does offer a full size refrigerator and a good basic kitchenette in a small building. The deck and proximity to the beach is also shown and we are glad that you enjoyed both during your stay at the cottage.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed your stay. We checked the AC unit and because it did seem to have limited cooling ability we installed a new unit.

We loved it!

Love elbow key. Usually visited, and stayed on a boat, at Sea spray, so familiar with that area. Cottage was great! Had everything we needed, and nothing we didn’t. Met some of the family that owns the cottage, and they were very nice. The dock across the street was a nice perk too.

Best deal in town

Pre-arrival, the owner Jon was very timely in answering my questions. Jean picked us up at the ferry dock and brought us to this adorable little beach cottage and gave us the tour and instructions. Just over the dune we watched the sunrise every morning drinking our coffee. Very comfortable, simply appointed cottage that had everything we needed.

We stayed in Sea Oats , it was clean and very comfortable. Perfect location! The island is beautiful and very safe plus the people are so nice- Jon was great! My friend set the trip up and he was always responsive to her and when I had a question he got back to me right away too! Made this as easy as possible to book the trip! Thank you!

Good to hear that other than the water you enjoyed a five star stay. When the water supply pump became inoperable a new one was installed within 24 hours on the weekend. Sometimes even on island time we can take care of problems quickly. Glad you enjoyed your stay, please come back and see us again to enjoy Abaco and our new water pump.

Could use a spare set of sheets. Some beach towels would be nice. The bathroom lacks privacy because the surrounding walls are not floor to ceiling. I was OK with it but my Girlfriend was not.

My fiancé and I loved staying at the Sea Oats Cottage. If you are coming to surf. This is where you want to be. Within a short walking distance to all the main breaks including Indicas,hamburgers,garbonzos,rush reef,pools,etc. The unit itself is the perfect size for any couple. 15 steps out the front door and you are on the beach. The caretaker Jean is super friendly and a lovable guy. Had one hiccup during our stay and he was on it. 10/10 plan on coming back.

Wonderful hot water. TV did not work. Internet worked off and on. Slow internet when it did connect. Close to ocean -- just a few steps over the dune -- nice. Comfortable bed. Minimal number of dishes, but enough for 2 people. Refridge worked well. Eating table a little high but OK. Private dock just a little ways away from house on White Sound Bay area -- about 200 feet -- nice. Short walking distance to Abaco Inn. Recommend having a golf cart. Quiet area. Close (20') to other renter's rental unit (2 sets of renters very nice and friendly). Enjoyed stay.

Hope Town is my Happy Place

What you see if what you get. Great little studio on the beach. Perfect for a single or couple. Conveniently located steps from Abaco Inn. No wifi on property but who really needs it :-). Pop down to the inn if you really need to connect. We had water in the freezer and coffee on the counter. Everything else we went out for. The bed was comfy enough and with the ocean breeze we didn’t need to turn on the ac. Comes with a boat dock. Do not expect luxury, just a comfortable place to lay your head and dock your boat for the best price on the island.

not as advertised

The photos are misleading. No outside furniture was at the gazebo. The plastic chair at the rear deck was old and broken, actually pinched my wife's back when she sat in it. Views from the rear deck show nothing but sea oats, you have to stand and be at least 6'4" tall to see the ocean. Nails on the deck are popping up and will catch your shoes, don't go barefoot! The inside "dining area" is a small rolling folding table with 2 child sized stools. One very uncomfortable wood chair to sit in on the inside. Shower can not be adjusted, it goes from very hot to freezing cold as you stand there. The wi-fi service the owner suggests is not available. He owns both cottages and is too cheap to have a dedicated wi-fi. The Abaco Inn guest and Starlink are too weak for the TV to receive channels. Emailed the owner several times about the wi-fi and he is clueless.Definately not worth the money, camping would have been better!

Sorry that you were displeased with your stay at our cottage. My caretaker indicated that he disposed of the chair that broke when your wife sat back in it. Guests often move furniture around on the large deck so it may not be placed as pictured. The shower seemed to work as it should both before and after your stay. As you know, we discussed internet service prior to your arrival and during your stay. Of course you know, there is in fact a dedicated wi-fi at the cottage (unsure why your text indicates there is not and then discuses my Starlink account). Also as we discussed, the repeater is sometimes unreliable but the internet works on the deck. You made it very apparent that the TV was very important to you and my caretaker was very accommodating. You are well aware the internet and TV are newer and not included as part of the cottage description. I am again sorry that you were displeased that a service not described as being offered at this time was unacceptable to meet your needs.

Island was Devistated by Hurricane Dorian

I did not take the trip because the Island of Elbow Cay was devistated by Hurricane Dorian in September 2019. The island still has no electricity or running water, most structures was heavily damaged or destroyed. The house I rented on line with Home-away (back in March 2019)and paid a deposit and purchased insurance was advertised as having electricity and A/C , a boat dock. The situation of the house prior to my arrival date was completely different. No boat dock, no running water and electricity was by generator. I am having difficulty getting my deposit back from the insurance, as they do not have a provision for Hurricane damage. I feel certain that Home-away or the owner of the home will refund my deposit if the insurance company does not.

Not certain why the one star rating? We talked and helped with the insurance information and addressed any issues. Despite the devastation on the island the cottages are now in great shape. A solar system was actually installed some time ago for the water and has been working well. Most docks were damaged and repairs will take some time. Power is currently in the process of being restored on the island. Hope Town suffered much damage but it is still Hope Town and the recovery process has been and continues to be substantial.
