Es parte de Laughing Gull Cottages, una comunidad frente al mar con un corto paseo hasta el océano.

El nivel de entrada ofrece 2 dormitorios, baño y una gran sala de lavandería.

El cuarto de lavado se encuentra cerca de la entrada. Está equipado con una lavadora y secadora de tamaño completo.

¡También hay una mesa de futbolín para divertirse en familia!

Great Location

This house is in a great location. Well stocked. We enjoyed the crows nest the most! Just a couple suggestions to make- the king mattress was extremely uncomfortable and sunk in on both sides. Might be time to replace. Also, since this is a pet friendly rental, carpets on the stairs inside would be nice. Our dog had a hard time going up and down. Otherwise, everything was great!

Great location!

House is a little dated, but location was good! Right on beach and near many restaurants. Only complaint is towels feel like sand paper and are way too rough. Plus fenced in area for dog is very tiny and best for a small dog not big enough for a big dog!

Fall Getaway

We spent 4 days at Laughing Gull #1 and had a wonderful stay! The beach is just right over the dune and it's within walking distance of Jeanette's Pier. We were fortunate to have a warm weather day and our girls played in the ocean and enjoyed the hot water shower outside. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The bunk bed room, queen room and laundry room are on the entry level. Upstairs is the king bedroom, living room and kitchen. Both levels have a full bathroom. The layout of the house was ideal for our family.

Nice location. Though it has a path to the beach it’s also super close to the public access which is easier to cross. The cottage itself is great for a family trip with everything that’s needed.

Great Winter Getaway

We came up for a short weekend trip to go to the aquarium. Home was clean, well maintained and had beautiful sunrise views from the crows nest. We will be back for a warmer stay. We traveled with a 7 month old baby and a 16lb frenchie. Both loved the room and the frenchie enjoyed having a fenced in area to run.

Short walk to the beach

Loved the house & decor. The bed was very comfortable. I have 3 Golden Retrievers so finding a house with fenced in yard for my dogs was a must & it was such a short walk to the beach with private access.

Nice Beach Cottage

We had a nice weekend stay. Great location along the beach, not too far from restaurants and shopping along with easy beach access. Bedrooms were perfect for us, and a nice large family room / dining area. It was very clean and all instructions were clear. We’ll keep it in mind for future visits.

Pleasant stay in Nags Head.

This house was located in a nice quiet part of Nagshead. The house is well updated and very clean. This location is dog friendly. This location allows access to the beach. This location is central to many interesting events in the area. We really enjoyed our stay. We will look to come back here in the future.

Great Time

Great location with beautiful views

The place is in the perfect spot, a quick walk to the beach and close to 64. The view from the upper deck is amazing. The floor plan is perfect for a vacation. The master bedroom mattress was lumpy and hard though. Everything else was wonderful.

Can't wait to go back!

We loved our trip! We will definitely be returning to the same house. We saved so much money by not having to board our dogs. The home was perfectly set up for pets, and we loved being able to share our vacation with our furry babies. The house was clean and so cute! It's the perfect location on the sand (no streets for the kids to cross to go to the beach). Management was very kind and communicative. Can't wait to go again.

Very adequate! Only issue is that only one bedroom is actually "adult-sized". Other two are very fine for young children and pre-teens. If someone has that age profile, this is an excellent rental for you!

Outer Banks Visit - Spring Break 2021

This beach cottage worked out well for our group and our trip. We were grandparents running off with our two teenage grandchildren. The kids (boy 15 and girl 16) commandeered the two lower level bedrooms as their own. The lower level bathroom worked great for them. The upper level, with its' on suite bathroom, worked out perfect for we old folks.......allowed us to avoid the stairs, but for venturing out to explore OBX. As the weather was a bit cool (early March), especially with the usual breeze, we did not need to be right on the beach. A short walk past three neighboring cottages got us there quickly to scope it out. If weather would permit it, getting on and off the beach would be a "breeze" :-). Overall, this rental unit worked out perfectly for our group and our trip.

Do Not Stay Here. Strongly Recommend Against

The website photos are not honest. The images posted show a beach view, promising a great overlook of the shore. In fact, your views are of the garage roof and the street. Your view of the ocean is blocked by four other rentals. This rental was a major disappointment to us. We were completely misled by Vrbo and by the company Rentals on the Beach. Neither was honest with us. We urge you not to stay here. We will be seeking a full refund.

EXCELLENT BEACH HOUSE, BUT CRACKLY FLOORS

This Rental was clean and in a great location (close to the bridge out of town and lots of restaurants). The Crow's Nest was amazing and a great place to watch the ocean with your favorite drink. The screened-in porch was a nice touch for evening outside comfort by keeping the bugs away. The bedrooms were large enough and the air conditioner worked well in the hot week we were there. The Master bathroom was large enough, but the downstairs bathroom for the other two bedrooms was very small, including a shower that was so small it was difficult to turn around or bend over. This house worked well for us all week except for the fact that the living room and dining room floor crackled every time you took a step. Probably a poor job installing the floor, but very annoying and you knew every time somebody took a step in the living space! The floor has got to be fixed. I would definitely stay in the house again if the floors were repaired.

Our Founder, Dr. Sarah Forbes passed away in 2011. She was a compassionate physician, dedicated to her patients becoming Norfolk General’s first female chief resident of OB/GYN.
In 1958, she became the first female physician to open a private OB/GYN practice in Newport News, VA.
Dr. Forbes was the first woman to be selected to the board, and the first female president, of the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula, where she was honored as a member of the “Wall of Fame” – the first and only woman to be so honored in the club’s 65-year history.

Sarah was often honored for her contributions to the organizations she served, and the community she loved.
Among her many awards were the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities’ Humanitarian Award in 2007, and the Medallion Award which is the highest recognition presented by The Boys and Girls Club of America to volunteers.

She served as president of several community organizations that include the Virginia Peninsula Academy of Medicine, the Newport News Chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Newport News Medical Society, and the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Her generosity benefited many organizations, including the Cancer Society, the Newport News Medical Society, the Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Family Planning Council, First Baptist Church of Newport News, the Peninsula SPCA, Mariners’ Museum, Riverside Hospital, and Christopher Newport University.

We are continuing Dr. Forbes’ Legacy
All of our vacation homes are owned by Sarah E. Forbes MD, Trust which continues her legacy by using our profits to make regular donations to the charities she loved.
We take care of the houses like she would have wanted.
