Welcome to Pleasant Times, a 6-bedroom, beautifully preserved 1807 Nantucket home recognized by the Nantucket Historical Society. Steeped in history and classic New England charm, this home offers a unique blend of character and comfort—ideal for couples, families, or a group of friends, it comfortably accommodates 10–12 guests.

Inside, a series of inviting living spaces—living room, parlor, dining room, a newly renovated eat-in kitchen with pantry, and three gas fireplaces—create the perfect setting for gathering and relaxing. Thoughtful updates include ceiling fans and built-in speakers throughout, modern bathrooms, A/C, and an outdoor shower for rinsing off after a day at the beach.

Upstairs, you’ll find flexible sleeping arrangements, including three king, one queen, and one full bedroom. The third floor features a cozy sitting area and a bedroom with one King and one twin bed—perfect for kids or additional guests.

Outdoors, enjoy one of the rare larger in-town fenced yards—ideal for grilling, lawn games, or simply relaxing in the Nantucket breeze.

Centrally located, Pleasant Times is just a short walk from the ferry and downtown Nantucket’s shops, restaurants, historic landmarks, and museums. Beaches and scenic trails are only a quick drive or bike ride away. Once the home of Captain Latham Gardner, this historic property offers a timeless retreat in one of the island’s most desirable locations.

Great Times!

Great place, very short walk to town and had everything we needed. Clean and comfortable, updated bathrooms were very nice. Tons of history, old nantucket charm, we would absolutely recommend "pleasant Times" to friends/family. Looking forward to staying there next year !!

Perfect house for a weekend on Nantucket

We stayed at Pleasant Times for a September wedding weekend and absolutely loved it!! The house is clean and spacious with lots of living space and a great backyard, fully equipped with beach chairs & towels, coolers & ice, etc. The proximity to town makes it the perfect location to walk to the best restaurants and shops. Marti was the best hostess and wonderful to work with before, during and after our stay and we hope to go back soon!!

Perfect for our large group

We had a fantastic time staying here! We loved the original character of the house, as well as the updated bathrooms. The house was perfect for our large group, everyone had a bed! Great outdoor space that we got to enjoy. The house is in a great location - easily walkable to downtown. The owner was great to work with and very accommodating. We would highly recommend this house!

Wonderful house, great in-town location!!

We love this quaint and beautiful house with it's original charm and modern updates! We especially love the lush backyard, the outdoor shower, and the attic playroom/bedroom with the lookout. As parents of toddlers, we appreciated the convenience of being just a few blocks from town and Children's Beach. It's also just a bike ride from the Chicken Box, Cisco Brewery, and other points of interest.

We are so sorry that we cannot give you a review as we never made it to Nantucket due to Hurrican Jose. I am sure it would have been lovely and the owners seemed so nice! Maybe some time in the future we can experience Nantucket.

Comfortable, Convenient and Quaint

Our family loved the original charm and character of this home. The location is close to town, which made it easy and convenient to go out to the museums, tours and some of the best restaurants we have ever been to. The home has the perfect mix of historical charm and modern amenities, a great table to eat outside in the backyard and plenty of room inside. The owner was extremely friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

Great property, very well equipped

Stayed here over labor day weekend and it could not have been better. Great location coupled with a great house made the experience exactly what we wanted. A short distance to town and easy drive to the beach. House is spacious and very accomodative. Been staying in town for years and this is one of the best houses I have stayed in. Owners have everything you need to have an enjoyable day at the beach making the experience very easy. Would happily stay here in the future.

Great place to stay on Nantucket

The Pleasant Times is a terrific place to stay on Nantucket. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor space that hold a good amount of people and you can't beat the location (right next to the cobblestones that lead downtown). The owner was very helpful and responsive both before and during our visit. She let us check in first thing in the morning and even was willing to let us stay until the last boat out on Sunday. Very generous and a delight to work with. I hope to be back soon!

Excellent house for a group on Nantucket

We had an excellent time at this house. There was plenty of equipment to make awesome meals, and our host was very prompt and helpful with any questions we had over text. We used the beach towns, grill, bikes, cornhole set, and more. She gave us great instructions for what to do on the island and let us have a late checkout. We will hopefully be back soon!

Our favorite vacation spot!

We stay at this property every year and love it. It is charming, while spacious, and the perfect place to gather with family and friends. You will also love the updated bathrooms and the outdoor shower! The location is ideal and within walking distance of Nantucket's most sought after places - the shopping district, restaurants, and the famous Nantucket Bakery! Beaches are also only a 5-10 minute cab/car ride away and the house has everything you will need for a great day in the sun with beach chairs, toys for the kids, etc. We are always sad to leave this house and look forward to coming back every year!

Excellent in town property, excellent owner

I have rented this property for several years. The location is excellent for those interested on in town rentals. The home is extremely comfortable and very well equipped. The owner is very responsive and does an amazing job keeping the home in great condition and continuing to improve and add amenities. The ice maker in the basement is one of my favorite features, which enables easy loading of coolers for beach runs.

Wonderful family week away

We had an amazing week staying in Pleasant Times! There were six of us that stayed for Labor Day week. The house was clean, comfy and had so many amenities, but the best was location, location location! We were able to walk to so many places but also have a great quiet home to walk back to. The kitchen had everything that you could possibly need, It felt like being home. We loved every minute of our family vacation on our favorite island. Perfect Fall Getaway

Pleasant Times certainly lives up to its name. We descended on Nantucket for a beautiful weekend away from the city and had a great experience at this property. It is perfectly positioned to get down town and not too far from other popular destinations (Cisco Brewery/Chicken Box). The "Beauty Shack" was the highlight of the sleeping arrangements by all guests present, an attic with 3 twin beds, perfect for late night pillow talk. I would certainly look to reserve this property in the future and I recommend others do as well.

Great house, great location

This quaint, charming and spacious home has everything for a perfect Nantucket vacation. We had another great week at Pleasant Times, walking around the corner, down Main Street to find a new favorite restaurant, taking a bike ride to the Brant Point Lighthouse and the Children's Beach or just staying in on a rainy day. Whether you are looking for the perfect rental for your young family, or having a "grown up" reunion with friends, this home offers everything that is great about Nantucket. The owners are also very kind and accommodative, which is a major plus. FIVE STARS!!!!

Amazing house and location!

We love this house and have been staying here for YEARS! 6 Pleasant is very well maintained and has all the immentities one could ask for! If you are going to the beach or shopping in town, this house has it all. The location is a 4 minute walk to town, restaurants and children's beach and a short drive to all the other beaches. My kids grew up in this house and we will never rent anything else on ACK. The owners are amazing and everything is always perfect!!

Wonderful, grand historic home right in town

We stayed at Pleasant Times after reading the reviews and it could not have been more spot on. Wonderful, centrally- located, historic captain's home, next to town with all the amenities one could ask for (bikes, beach toys, coolers, even an ice machine!). We had 3 generations there for a mini family reunion and it could not have been better! The owners were responsive and detailed when we had a local question. They even recommended a few places to eat and activities that only the locals new about (Loines Observatory for example!). I look forward to returning to Pleasant Times next year! Everything that my family could have asked for and more!

Girls weekend- location, location, location!

Loved this house! It has old charm but updated bathrooms and kitchen. Easy walk from ferry and main street on quaint cobblestone streets which was so important since we didn't have a car. The visitor center was off main street from which we took a courtesy shuttle to Ciscoe brewery for a day trip. We also spent some time in the private, well manicured backyard cooking on the grill. The owners were super helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend "pleasant times" to family and friends! I hope to return soon!

WOW, just wow, couldn't have been better!

Everything about our stay this past weekend was amazing! Marti and Mark were fantastic, have to give a special shout-out to Marti. I couldn't think of a better person to work with and rent from - THANK YOU times a million! On top of that, the house was fantastic, it was roomie yet cozy. The backyard was awesome (extra points for outdoor shower) and it was a super simple walk to/from downtown. Suffice to say, we will most definitely be renting from Marti and Mark again. Absolute no-brainer!

One of the few remaining historic homes in town that has been lovingly updated and maintained while retaining the original gorgeous architecture and unique elements of classic Nantucket homes. I love the layout of the house, with plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and also share together in the common spaces. The large yard is perfect for outdoor dining and kids playing on the lawn, and the best part is the location is a quick walk to the heart of Town. It’s especially great for multigenerational vacations, if your family has grandchildren and grandparents. The top floor is perfect for kids - a nautical hangout space with separate beds and nautical decor. Thank you for renting your lovely home for us to enjoy!
