Grab a bike or hop in the car and head up the beach towards the Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve, just two and a half miles away. For a small donation, you can walk or bike through the preserve to enjoy views of the Morris Island Lighthouse. Local shops, dining and the Folly Beach Pier are less than two miles from this home. For a day trip, enjoy downtown historic Charleston just 13 miles away.

This was one of the best family trips we have ever taken - and we lived in Europe! You cannot beat the views that this home provides. From the sunrises, to the dolphins playing right in front of us (felt like they were playing with our kids!), to the incredible sunsets, this place was amazing! This charming beach house was perfect for us and our four kids (5 and under) and the area is so much fun. The beach was quiet and felt very private. Host/management was informative and prompt when we had questions prior to our trip. We will definitely be back!!

House was as beautiful as advertised excellent home quiet and clean perfect for sleeping. I like nighttime to be quiet and dark and this location was perfect.

Perfect Small Group Rental

Great stay. Great views, screens allowed me to go to sleep listening to the waves every night. Rustic, very laid back. Adequately furnished. Super location. Highly recommend

Lack of response

I sent a few questions through email within the week before our stay and never got responses to my questions until the day we checked out. Additionally, when we booked our stay we asked for an early check-in (just one hour before the scheduled check-in of 4pm) and never heard a word in response. We drove past the rental an hour before (3pm) and no one was there-no cleaners of anyone else) but they never responded to our request, which they easily could have accommodated. We did not go in early as we felt we had not been given permission to do so but it seems that it would have been painless for them to have allowed us to do so.

Great location

Loved the beach front. The plywood should be changed as the ceiling due to the bedding felt like it had moisture. Great experience overall! Will book again.

Incredible location!

Loved this location, oh my goodness! Yes, it is very rustic, like a cabin but it has a lot of charm. Very comfortable, great screened in porch and location to town.

The good news and the bad news.

Great beach front location and screened-in porch. Good bed and linens. Then: windows don't open, broken furniture, poor lighting, sketchy air conditioning and electricity.

The perfect beach house

This property was the true definition of a beach house in my families opinion. Loved the set up and they even had a little pool for our 1 1/2 year old Grandson on the deck to enjoy after the beach. Would have been nice if there were a few beach chairs, as most places provide some. We also were under the impression going by the pictures there was only 1 bathroom, what a nice surprise to find 2 full baths. We will defiantly be renting Sho-Rest again.

Getting thru to Vacasa was 1.5

If the lights were on at night in the house, large flying ants would come through the air conditioning units and cover you up at night. They did come spray but there was no control but to keep the lights off.

Stunning Location!

Such a cute place. Cabin feel on the inside, paradise on the outside. Watched surfers and loved finding all the sea shells in the morning. Walked a mile on the beach to the pier restaurant. Perfect little supermarket just a mile away that has a little bit of everything (beer, groceries, and more). Folly Beach is a great location. Appreciated the book with suggested places to visit. If you take little ones be mindful that the walls in the bedrooms do not go all the way up to the ceiling (in case you need a quiet space). Lots of seating around the house. The beach is nice. Public access on the side of the house. Those who manage this property were quick to responses and very helpful when we checked in. Loved: all the utensils and fun plates painted by kids, nice stock of towels, rocking chairs on the porch facing the ocean, outdoor shower under the deck (even has hot water), puzzles to do at night-we dominated these, comfy beds and pictures of your family on the walls that have enjoyed the place since the 70's. Didn't care for: Showers in the house are small (I couldn't lift my elbow up all the way and I'm 5'3) and large ants came crawling out of the hot and cold knobs that are not caulked in one of the bathrooms so the handles rattle around. There are some open gaps to the outside that I had to close up (in the bedroom window where the air conditioner sits and the door in the bathroom that goes to the outside has about a 2" gap from floor-there was a cold draft and lizards that I didn't want inside).

Reasonable rate. Enjoyed the deck and screened-in porch. Definitely would rent property again. Would like to have had a little bigger showers, but over all, very pleased.

Dusty, moldy, infested with flying ants with dangerous stairs and wiring!!! Would never go back!!

The house is old but if they took better care of it the age would not really matter. It was musty and dusty. The front entry stairs had only a hand rail and open space between it and the stair treads..a scary climb with a three year old. The cord from the light over the rickety table was duct taped to the switchbox. But the worst part of all was an infestation of flying ants!!! All over me and the bed!!! They did respond and someone finally spayed that night and it cut back on the numbers for a day or two but then they began to increase again. We were over it and left a day early. I told the office all of this when i turned in the key and they were polite but made no attempt or any offer to refund any money or give credit for a future stay...IN ANOTHER HOUSE..!!! Nothing!!!! That was the worst vacation ever!!! The porch and deck were nice and it was beachfront...all good but bot good enough!

Great for eight!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I reserved this property on the recommendation of an acquaintance who owned a house nearby, and was not disappointed. This was going to be an off-season beach vacation. A couple of months before the stay, my fiance and I decided to get married. We wanted a small and informal gathering, and this place was perfect. The layout makes full use of the ocean breezes. In October, air conditioning was completely unnecessary, although it reached 90 inland. The screen porch and deck provide nice degrees of being in or out. No need to bring beach chairs or a beach blanket when you are this close. Lots of beach toys left behind, too. Unfortunately, the changes to the beach from Hurricanes Matthew and Irma, and probably a nor'easter last winter are evident. The dune is completely gone from in front of the property so it is literally beachfront. Looks like some maintenance items like exterior painting have been deferred. Some of the decking is brand new, and some old and weathered. Bring your flip-flops. I hope it all lasts a while longer. We had a great stay.
