- [ ] The property was filthy., dark and depressing. - [ ] Sofa had some stains and smelled of dog- [ ] Rug in the living room was dirty and stained- [ ] Bed had no mattress cover, only a thin polyblend sheet; bare foam mattress was stained and smelled of dog.- Flies were continuously in the apartment. - Rugs dirty and stained- nice Coffee machine - Location excellent. - The tiny shower was functional but coated in lime scale and soap,some mold - Complaints to the host were responded to timely but dismissive and offered no resolution nor compensation. Host stated he had no personal experience with these conditions and no one else reported them; blamed flies on Paris seasonal conditions and the dirty shower on Paris water quality, blamed a previous guest for a stained mattress pad so just a thin polyblend sheet to cover a stained and smelly foam mattress; blamed someone else for dirty floors; stated he was out of town; - he did apologize only after we sent photos but still offered no resolution. We were exhausted from the long flight and felt 200/ night at a minimum we should have a clean bed to sleep in. VRBO directs guests to resolve issues with the host. After two days of getting only excuses and denials from the host we reported the issue to VRBO, spending hours on the phone at our expense. Disgusted with the apartment, situation we left.
