It is a beautiful home with breathtaking views. The house is clean and comfortable. Everyone was very helpful and I plan to come back and spend a longer time there. You need a jeep to get there but that’s one of my favorite parts.

Great house, better view

Amazing little house with wraparound view of the bays and surrounding area. Well equipped and close to local markets, we were able to stay out on the island all day and return to comfort and a night sky full of stars. Would definitely stay here again, thanks John and Jodi for sharing it with us!

Amazing time! David was great showing us the property and how to drive the road. We had an awesome time snorkeling and exploring the island- would love to return again.

Other than no door locks we loved the place! The drive in and out was no problem at all with a 4wd and the views were worth it.

We stayed a week. This is our second year staying there. House is very nice. Road up to property is very rough and getting there is an adventure.

A secluded view of paradise!

My wife and I came here to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and made memories to last forever. The extra adventure it took to get to the property only added to the sense of isolation that made for the perfect romantic retreat.

Hilltop Paradise

The roads up to the house sure was bumpy and the driveway was as promised, steep but the house was perfect. We found everything we needed for our trip week stay. We would come back to this house in the future!

A little slice of paradise

The house was well appointed and very private. Everything was designed perfectly for comfort and relaxation while on the island. We really enjoyed the view from the deck. It was so comfortable that it was hard to leave in the morning. We hiked into waterlemon from the house with the beach chairs and it was a great experience. The road is a little "rough" but very doable in a 4 wheel drive jeep. It's all part of the St. John experience. We were very satisfied with our stay and would stay here again. Also had the pleasure of meeting John and really enjoyed speaking with him. Thank you for a great experience.

Beaty in a bowl of nature

We had Christmas winds. We were grateful for the rain for the cistern. The property is gorgeous and we were thankful to be there. The little ants come into (any) home in search of food so keep the trash outside perhaps? Thank you for the opportunity to stay in your home. We were walkers and did not have a jeep, worked well for us.

extraordinary sunrises

The views from the property really are breathtaking. The access road to the property, however, is not relaxing. Being on the quiet side of St. John is great if you prefer access to some of the more challenging and less-frequented hiking trails that provide access to locations that make you feel like you have the National Park to yourself.

What a view!

Wonderful stay. Great villa up high with covered wraparound porch and killer views from everywhere. Road up is quite rocky but with a 4 wheel drive easy to navigate. No a/c but trade winds and fans kept things relatively cool despite some unseasonably high temps. Love the quiet side of the island and this villa was delightful and well equipped. Property manager and owner were responsive and easy to work with. Thanks for sharing your vacation home!

As advertised!

It’s was definitely a secluded and remote quiet area. Was a great recharge! It is a bit warm at night when sleeping and the ceiling fan in bedroom would help if worked but not sure it would make that big of a difference. Everything you need including the best beaches are all less than 15-20 min away.

Isolated overlook

Entertaining guide greeted us and led us up to the house, which was very helpful for a first time 4x4 mountain drive. The house is gorgeous and so is the view from the house. Our stay was short but we enjoyed the ram head hike, driving around, and some beach hopping. Snorkled for the first time at hawknest and trunk bays and saw some stingray, barracuda, and lots of little fish. Cooked at the house but went down to Rhumb Lines at the bottom of the hill for a birthday dinner. The sea breeze was great on the patio. Very enjoyable stay.

Amazing view!

The property is located on hillside overlooking coral bay. The view is amazing. The drive to the property requires a 4 wheel drive vehicle as the road is not paved and very steep in spots. But its totally worth it. There is no A/C but with the fans it was cool and reminded me of when i was young and had no A/C. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

A truely authentic location and home, including the wonderful 4x4 access on the rock-you-road. Quality finishes and appointments throughout. Of the over 90 unique stays we've enjoyed, the wrap-around balcony finishes at or near the top for our best view list. Coral Bay residents allowed us to enjoy many nice perspective & dialogs too. In home climate was wholly consistent with our USVI local temperature & humidity expectations.

Beautiful ..but not for the faint of heart

Absolutely gorgeous views …once you get there. The drive up to the house is a white knuckle drive. My husband and I agreed that it would be a once down and back up each day. The house was very private and the views are phenomenal. House was very well stocked for grilling/cookingI suggest locks of some sort for the doors once inside. I agree there is t traffic up to the house. However, for peace of mind at night, a little something to lock would be nice.

Spectacular

My husband and I enjoyed a few perfect days here in this spectacular home. The views are unbeatable and breathtaking from everywhere you sit. The porch is well appointed and we spent most of our time there in the comfy chairs, hammock swing and day bed. The upstairs is spacious- just be aware that it’s cooled by fans and windows only. The kitchen is well stocked and we loved having access to a large cooler, beach chairs and lots of beach towels. The drive in and out is unforgettable and part of the adventure- we were well prepared by the kind property manager who met us and drove us up the first time. You’ll be visited by little lizards and hummingbirds which was delightful. There is a trailhead not far from the house for the Johnny Horn trail and beautiful beaches are a short drive away. Great restaurants on the water are just down the hill. We absolutely loved it here!

Mountainside Paradise

It is difficult to express all of the wonderful things about Fiddler's Green. From the beginning, the experience to get there is wickedly wild, and part of the St. John experience. David, the property manager, took great care in explaining everything about the drive to the property, and all of the necessary details about the home upon arrival. The sustainability of this beautiful home is appealing, and lends itself to the natural and serenity of St. John. There are stunning views from every corner of this home, and we soaked them in as much as we could. Watching the sun rise from this home is breathtaking. We love to cook and found the amenities of the kitchen to be a chef's paradise. Eating or enjoying a drink on the wrap-around balcony of this home is absolutely delightful. Hummingbirds abound and the flora and fauna are a visual cornucopia. While some may feel isolated in this location, we found it to be the perfect oasis. We thank Jodi and John for opening their home to us.

Oh my goodness! The road to the house was brutal! I have no words!

The house was good. Be aware you have to go outside to get from kitchen/living room to bedroom. Tv was not accessible and internet spotty. Reviews said the road was bad but nothing prepared me for the drive to get to the house. We had to move large rocks in order to get up or down the road. My husband would drive and I would move sharp rocks. You MUST have a jeep 4 wheel drive. Expect to go 2-5 MPH up and down! We were prepared to bust a tire every time we went in or out. We are so lucky we didn’t. I wouldn’t do this location again because of the road. Just not worth it and there are lots of houses in coral bay. Also, we were not able to use any of the beach ware. Everything was rusted out. We bought our own. There was no microwave or dishwasher. Because of the road condition I can’t recommend this unless you are use to driving ruts and avoiding huge rocks.

Wonderful views, very nice house, but poorly maintained and other issues.

The house commands wonderful views of ocean and forest. It has beautiful woodwork and plentiful storage. The porch is lovely to relax on. But there were many signs of poor maintenance. The bedroom had its largest window boarded up (for two months! according to the property manager.) This makes air circulation less efficient and there is no air conditioning. The refrigerator leaked water onto the shelves (a known problem since we were told to try to catch the water in a bowl. Some of the pans and utensils were rusted and very worn and should be thrown out and replaced. The property manager showed us the beach chairs- rusted badly and complained about by a prior tenant. With some cajoling, he agreed to replace them the next day. The kitchen stove had one burner that did not light and the kitchen had none of the small amenities that make cooking easier (no oil, a few ancient spice containers). For my wife, about 5’1”, the bed was ridiculously high and there were only very large pillows, meaning I had no pillow that was comfortable. And, less importantly, there were many, many light switches, not always logically arranged. Simple labels would be very helpful. We would consider staying here again only if the management of the property was significantly improved.

Yes! David, acting on behalf of the unit owners was very gracious, responsive and informative. Amenities were wonderful. No microwave, but that may be expected given the reliance on solar power. Nice furnishings and appointments may well have only been exceeded by the incredible views!

Absolutely amazing stay. Perfect location. Beautiful home, setting with spectacular views.

Comfy bed. Great kitchen and BBQ. We enjoyed cooking and then eating outside every night. Highly recommend for a memorable stay in St. John.

Hidden gem in Coral Bay

Amazing villa in Coral Bay Area of St. John. You definitely need the high clearance 4x4 to reach the home but the adventurous “driveway “ just adds to the overall seclusion and allure to the place. Beautiful woodwork throughout and tastefully decorated but the best part is the wraparound porch with various sitting areas where you can take in the panoramic views while listening to the birds and can even hear the surf against the shore far below. If you are looking for views, quiet, and seclusion look no further. My wife and I had an unforgettable stay. Thank you.

Amazing views!

Beautiful property with outstanding views! The road is tough, but doable. Definitely need four-wheel-drive. And once we left the house, even if my kid forgot something, there was no going back until the end of day ha! The upstairs bedroom had a beautiful wooden ceiling with a gorgeous wooden fan but unfortunately it wasn’t working during our stay. We slept outside on the daybed because the breezes were so lovely. Definitely feels like you are away from the world! Very private, obvious care in renovation.

We fell in love with Saint John in March of 2017. Determined to make this our own home away, we returned in January of 2018 for a month to go on a house search despite knowing the area had been hit very hard by 2 hurricanes. Once there we truly fell in love with the island more, sensing the wonderful community there as everyone recovers from the storms.
