The large windows on three sides allow plenty of natural light while still having privacy in this urban spot.

The interior finish is meant to make you feel immediately comfortable and at home. It's warm, happy and cozy. The large timbers and concrete pilings that support the structure add a raw and natural feel to the place.

The kitchen is fully stocked. Mökki offers a bar fridge, a 2-burner induction stovetop, a kettle, a drip coffee maker, a pour-over, a coffee grinder, pots, pans, and dishes. There is also a microwave.

Enjoy a happy hour on the patio, or do some grilling on the Weber charcoal grill.

The Mökki Birdnest offers a taste of simple living, designed to encourage folks to engage in the outdoors and seek adventure on the North Shore! A great home base to rest/wash/eat/love - so you can be up and at it again the next day.

There is a rental unit above the Mökki Birdnest. You will occasionally hear the sewer drain and footsteps as guests come and go on the outside stairwell.

In the summer, when the windows are open, you may hear local brewery operations or music from Grand Marais' nightlife music scene.

A wastewater ejection pumps to the city sewer, it is loud when flushing the toilet or showering.
