This place is right on Carp Lake for some relaxation and outdoor leisure activities (kayaks are available for use!)...and just a short 11-minute drive to downtown Macinaw City/ferry to Macinac Island.Very clean place and equipped kitchen. Make sure to pack enough clothes for your stay; there is not a washer/dryer in the house and there isn't a laundromat nearby. Owner is extremely prompt in responding - super helpful!Definitely make a stop at The General Store and check out Harbor Lights Grille/Ice Cream Parlor. This would be a place I'd recommend to others!

Our stay exceeded all of our expectations! The cabin was exceptionally clean, spacious, and beautifully situated right on the lake. The views were amazing, and everything was well maintained. When we wanted to use the kayaks, Ordel promptly sent someone over, got them down for us, and even cleaned them before we headed out. He was always quick to respond to any questions and was incredibly polite, courteous, and helpful throughout our stay.We couldn't have asked for a better experience and will definitely be coming back. If you're considering this cabin, don't let it pass you by—you won't be disappointed!

Our multifamily group of seven stayed in the Papa Bear and had the most amazing time! Easily one of our group's favorite stays over the past sixteen years of VRBOs.The host was fantastic and very easy to communicate with. They have everything you could possibly need in the home for a relaxing vacation, a cute coffee bar, great spaces to relax and play games both indoors and out, a well stocked kitchen, and even a nice variety of spices for cooking, which you don't often find in rentals. The home was so clean and nicely updated, they really put a lot of thought into the upgrades. It is also set up really well for a multifamily group, with the bedrooms being on the ends of the home and common spaces in the middle, or for a larger family to spread out while still being close in a single level home. The outdoor spaces and seating is fantastic and lake was excellent. We enjoyed swimming even though it was a cool week. We also loved being so close to the ferry to Mackinac Island, although our favorite time was spent was in the home.Lovely rental! We would absolutely rent this home again!

Make sure there is something about no washer and dryer. This was my first time to book one so wasn't sure how it is usually listed. Overall it was a comfortable relaxing place.

First, the pictures don't do it justice! The rooms are all very large. The bedrooms are all decent size with the largest of the 4 being very large. All of the beds are queen size and extremely comfortable. I stayed with 2 other women and all remarked at how comfortable the beds were. All bedrooms had large closets with plenty of hangers as well as dressers in each so we were able to completely unpack and make ourselves at home. The location on Paradise Lake is beautiful! We could tell that there had been alot of recent upgrades to the cabin. There are six very comfortable lounge chairs in the spacious yard as well as adirondak chairs around the fire pit. We purchased wood nearby and had a bonfire 2 nights. There are kayaks available but we didn't use as it was a bit too cold for us but I think the location would have been perfect. It was very quiet on the lake and so peaceful - it really is a magical setting! The kitchen is large and very well stocked! Both bathrooms are a good size and there were plenty of towels and hot water. The cabin was easy to find and had ample parking. It was only about a 7 minute drive to Mackinac City so it was perfect for going into town for dinner or over the bridge to explore St. Ignance. The communication with the host, Ordel, was excellent. He responded quickly, provided us with alot of useful information about the cabin and was truly genuine in his desire that we enjoy our stay! We wouldn't hesitate to book again!
