Birds You Might Encounter:
Tanagers: Brightly colored and lively, tanagers add splashes of vivid reds, yellows, and blues to the treetops.
Toucans: Recognizable by their large, vibrant beaks, toucans are a highlight of any birdwatching trip. Watch as they hop through the branches in search of fruit and insects. There are several species here at Los Laureles: The keel-billed, chestnut-mandibled, and the brilliant fiery-billed aracari.
Scarlet Macaws: These majestic, large parrots with striking plumage are often seen soaring overhead or perched in the canopy, their calls echoing through the forest.
Parrots: A variety of parrots can fill the trees, their bright feathers and playful personalities adding to the lively wildlife scene.
Hummingbirds: Tiny but mesmerizing, hummingbirds dart and hover with incredible agility, their iridescent feathers shimmering in the sunlight as they sip nectar from flowers.
Herons: Graceful and stately, you may see a variety of herons wading around the lake, or tending to their young in their nests.

*Please note: Although not visible from the property, the home sits above the Costanera (coast hwy). While the house itself offers peaceful seclusion, traffic sounds —especially semi-trucks using air brakes and motorcycles— may be heard clearly from the back deck. Inside the house, these sounds are much less noticeable; however, if you are sensitive, bringing earplugs might enhance your comfort while sleeping. Most guests find the symphony of birds, waves, and wildlife more than enough to create a relaxing atmosphere, but each person has their unique perspective and expectations. Please note that Ventanas is comprised of 3, almost identical, side-by-side homes separated by gardens. Each home has three bedrooms with a private pool, kitchen, laundry, living room, and dining room. There is a large, covered deck off the living room with outdoor seating. The bedrooms are located downstairs, all connected to an internal garden between the main section and the bedrooms.

Bruno and I have lived in Costa Rica for over 20 years now. I am from the US and he is from Brasil. We were both drawn to Costa Rica by its natural beauty and diversity. We both enjoy surfing, giving tours of the property, and learning each day from the miracles that surround us. Playa Bejuco is home to one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica! It is perfect for surfing, horseback riding, or simply enjoying one of the most awe-inspiring sunsets you've ever seen. There are some great restaurants within a mile from the property and many others in the towns of Jaco, Quepos, and Manuel Antonio. We are always happy to recommend our favorites! Please note that, although the property is centrally located, we highly suggest renting a car. The beaches and restaurants are close but not walking distance.
The property is centrally located approx. 2 hours from Juan Santa Maria International Airport in San Jose, just 25 minutes south of Jaco and 35 minutes north of Manuel Antonio National Park. There are restaurants and a market within a mile from the property but there are no sidewalks or walking paths to the shopping center or beach. We highly recommend renting a car directly at the airport with a hotspot if you don't have an international data plan. The best way to navigate is via GPS or the app Waze. If you are arriving late and don't feel comfortable driving at night, please let me know and I can reserve private transportation from the airport for $160 each way. There are car rental agencies here at the beach. For your safety, we DO NOT allow Ubers, Taxis, or other outside vendors onto the property without prior approval.
-The property is located 1 mile from the beach. It's best to drive a few minutes and park right on the beach. Since there is a mangrove between the property and the beach, there is no direct access on foot. We are 2 hrs from SJO (Juan Santa Maria Int'l Airport).
-Since we do not have an exact address, it would be helpful if you could download Whats app so that we can send our exact location. Please print the written directions on Airbnb if you won't have phone service.
-We highly recommend renting a car. Navigating is easy as we're right off the Costanera and most activities are located along this why. It isn't feasible to get Uber's or taxis from the property and for security reasons, we do not allow outside vendors onto the property.
-As mentioned in the property description, the home sits above the Costanera.
