Great Location

We loved the walks on the beach every morning! Very clean and beautiful condo, nicely decorated. It's a beautiful neighborhood and the neighbors were very friendly!

Great home base to see all of San Diego County

Lovely Condo with garage and also lots of free parking all through the La Playa area. Car or Uber needed to enjoy Downtown San Diego but this place is a great home base to do this. We spent lots of time on the cute bay beach and walked many times on the bay sand path to stores on La Playa and also walked to Shelter Island with its wonderful views. Don't miss the USS Midway tour and Cabrillo National Park, they are simply unforgettable.

Month in cool climate

Overall good accommodations, this street is the main entrance to the Base therefore a lot of vehicle noise in the AM and PM. Unit was clean with everything you need, probably return again.

Fantastic condo with a stellar location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in La Playa! The condo has everything you need for a short or longer term stay. We couldn't have asked for a better location - it is close to everything you could want or need. Leticia is a wonderful host, very responsive and attentive. We walked everyday on the path next to the harbor in to town for coffee and several times for lunch and dinner. There is a swimming beach at the end of the block, which is very convenient, and it's within a ten minute drive to OB if you want surfing or a larger beach. We were in San Diego for three months for my job, and commuting to my office downtown was a breeze. We couldn't have asked for a better location for our stay, and the condo was well stocked with every amenity that we could ask for!

Point Loma is a Paradise

My husband and I are retired and wanted to spend the winter in Point Loma near our son and his family. This condo is perfect. Not too big but big enough to feel spacious. The rooms are all large with high ceilings. The furnishings are comfortable and really appreciated the king bed with a foam mattress as I have a tempurpedic at home. Leticia and Hector (owners) are responsive and easily available. The bay is only one block down a hill with a beautiful walking trail along the water. San Diego is truly a paradise. My only complaint is the traffic noise (as other reviewers have noted). The condo is street side and close to the navy base so in the early morning hours, there are a lot of cars. It took us about 1-2 weeks to get used to it-then we were fine. I definite recommend LaPlaya condo.

Great month in San Diego

La Playa was the perfect place for our month of January in San Diego. Our daughter lives in Hillcrest and we wanted to escape winter in the Midwest. This condo in Point Loma was great. We really enjoyed the location with the beautiful beach walk to coffee or dinner in La Playa. The condo was well apportioned. The beds were comfortable, the master bath spacious, and very functional kitchen and a good living space. Of note, bring an HDMI cord to connect your laptop with the TV for streaming services. It was easy to get to Sunset Beach, Mission Bay, Liberty Station, Downtown and Balboa Park from the condo. We utilized on-street parking for our comings and goings during the day, and dedicated parking spot under the building for overnight. The views of Shelter Island and downtown San Diego from Kellogg Beach at the end of the street were fantastic. We did experience some street noise from vehicles entering the navy yard, but the condo supplies a white noise machine, so not a big deal. Also, the condo's outdoor space is not really functional, but San Diego has a plethora of outdoor spots. Finally, Leticia and Hector responded immediately to all of our questions and any issue that arose. They are great hosts.

Summer/Fall long term stay

We enjoyed all aspects of this VRBO. The condo is well equipped, the proximity to the beach is ideal and the walking paths are wonderful. However, the condo is on a busy street which tends to be noisy during certain times of the day.

Lovely Condo in Excellent Location -- Great Value!

We thoroughly enjoyed our June/July 2018 stay at Leticia's condo. The location is extraordinary -- just a block from an extremely family-friendly neighborhood beach next to Shelter Island. The Point Loma neighborhood is about a mile from its village center with plenty of restaurants, cafes and small retail shops. There is a LOVELY walking path accessible from the beach which runs along the bay/marina all the way into the village. The first floor condo is very tastefully decorated -- all mid/high end quality-- fully equipped with great appliances, furniture and all needed (and more) items. The bedrooms and living room do face a fairly busy street which is a bit noisy in the mornings and evenings - but manageable. The building itself is of high quality with quiet, friendly neighbors. Parking space is easy both on the street and in the private garage. Kids loved to take out the kayak and other beach equipment. Leticia was an excellent host -- kind and very attentive to any request. I would definitely recommend this option and would happily return there in the future! Great value!

A wonderful and comfortable retreat to come back to each afternoon.

The condo was extremely clean, with all necessary convenience, even brand new pots and pans. The building is very quite, only 12 unit over 4 floors. The unit itself was convenient in that it is on the 1st floor and it’s patio is located at the front of the unit near the street so you can pass grocery items etc over the patio rail. We were in San Diego 5 weeks while visiting our daughter who is fighting cancer, and the condo proved to be an excellent retreat not only for ourselves, but our daughter and family as it’s located a very short block from a wonderful family beach that provides a up close vantage point to see the large ships either coming into or leaving the Port of San Diego for open waters. We could not have wished for a better place to stay for an extended time. We hope to return for another extended stay in the Fall.

Summer month in Point Loma

If you are looking for a home away from home, this is the perfect condo in San Diego. The location is central and the location on Point Loma very close to Shutter Island with it's great little restaurants and coffee shops. All the amenities of home from dinnerware to placemats are a plus. Parking is covered and is never a problem. The neighbors are friendly and fun. We were able to watch the 4th of July fireworks from the front porch.

The place, the location and hospitality were all fantastic!

This is an amazing place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed out time there. I recommend it to everyone.

We had an outstanding stay at the this place. The condo was immaculate. Everything a person needed for the stay was provided and even more. The owners have thought of everything. They even helped us with a better kayak to use. The place has a decorator touch to it and made it very pleasant to be there. The location is great for getting around San Diego. Again a great month spent there.

Nice and clean.

Great place to rent. Perfect location to everything you need to do. Very secure, felt very safe. Condo had everything you need. Plus it was just updated, so that was nice too. The owner was very friendly and if we needed her, she was only a text away. We stayed the whole month of June and it was very relaxing and nice.

Location is everything!

With this location, the fact that the condo is so nice is almost secondary! Every morning we walked Le Playa Path into Point Loma and on to Shelter Island...a wonderful almost 3 mile loop. The condo is beautifully appointed, with anything you could need, including kayak and other beach gear. The owners even brought us a wagon to take what we needed to the 1/2 block away beach. It's mighty quiet and not touristy at all-just an all around wonderful property for a great vacation. We wished it were higher up in the building (a little street noise mostly just in the morning) but that is a very minor deal. We hope to return. All of San Diego could not be explored in our 2-week vacation. Point Loma is a treasure.

Great Condo Rental!

A perfect place for enjoying the marvels of San diego. The Condo is excellently cared for by the owners. They are very responsive to any concerns (of which there were none but did maintain contact with us to learn if there were any). The location, walking path to Shelter Island, recreation availabilities were great! The Condo was well supplied with linens, full kitchen appliances, and convenient laundry facilities. La Playa is an excellent San Diego location, convenient to restaurants and beautiful San Diego Harbor. There is a very private beach at the end of the street and this was a delight for our grandchildren who visited us. Friendly neighbors, convenient underground parking were additional features. Hopefully, we will be returning!

Best Vacay Ever!

This place was so amazing! It was fully furnished and super clean. It was perfectly located, close to restaurants, and a private beach just down the hill. I can't wait to go back and stay here! It is such a close drive to downtown San Diego and to get to the Ferry.

Perfect getaway!

This place was so beautiful and cozy! I stayed with my friends and we had a great time, truly felt like we were on a secluded beach! We took a ferry from Downtown to Coronado, the condo is situated in the heart of San Diego Harbor. We also dined at Umi Sushi and Miguel's, which I recommend! Leticia also had kayaks for us to use, which was so much fun! I wished we could have gone to the farmer's market on Sunday, maybe next time. I do plan visiting again in August do to some more kayaking! Thank you Leticia for sharing your home!

Excellent!

Came here with 3 of my girlfriends from Charleston, SC. The place was beautiful and seconds to the beach. Close to everything shops, stores, beaches, downtown we had a fun weekend especially a day with the kayaks. I highly recommend this place for a nice relaxing vacation, and you can't beat the location! I will definitely try to be back every year.

THE LOCATION, THE SPACIOUS LAYOUT, THE CONDITION. THE UPGRADES. IT IS LOCATED ON THE CORNER AND IT HAS A SMALL HOUSE FEEL TO IT. UNLIKE MOST CONDOS THAT ARE A MAZE TO GET TO. THE PARKING IS ALSO GREAT, IT OFFERS A LOT OF STREET PARKING. IT IS NOT EASY TO PURCHASE A PROPERTY IN SAN DIEGO WHERE YOU CAN ACTUALLY TAKE STEPS TO THE BEACH....THEY JUST RARELY POP UP. WHEN THIS ONE CAME UP WE JUST WENT FOR IT, AS WE KNEW THESE TYPE OF PROPERTIES ARE HARD TO ATTAIN.

THE MOST UNIQUE BENEFIT OF THIS PROPERTY IS ITS SHORT DISTANCE TO THE WATER AND DOWNTOWN VIEWS AND SHELTER ISLAND. IT IS FAR, FROM THE BUSYNESS OF THE CITY, BUT CLOSE TO ALL THE IMPORTANT PLACES. IT TAKES MINUTES TO GET ANYWHERE. SAN DIEGO AIRPORT, DOWNTOWN, GREAT RESTAURANTS, HISTORICAL SITES, SAILING, HUMPHREYS, SHELTER ISLAND. THIS WAS MY FATHER'S FAVORITE PLACE OF ALL SAN DIEGO, HE SAID IT HAD A CERTAIN FLARE OF CLASS. WE LIKE THE LAYOUT OF THE COMMUNITY AND THE SMALL VILLAGE AREA. MY FATHER ALWAYS OWNED HIS OWN BOAT AND ENJOYED POINT LOMA, HE ALSO LIKED THAT IT WAS DIFFERENT FROM MOST OTHER SOUGHT OUT BEACH COMMUNITIES.......WE HOPE IT STAYS UNIQUE.
