For a truly incomparable family vacation, consider this beautiful Serene Lakes getaway in Soda Springs. This three-story home boasts hardwood bamboo floors throughout, soaring cathedral ceilings, comfortable furnishings, and a number of high-end amenities. Visiting chefs will delight in the open and full kitchen with stainless steel appliances and an island with counter seating for guests. Gather together in the cozy living area where you can listen to music and warm up by the wood-burning fireplace. A second living area on the lower level offers additional seating options, a gas fireplace, and a TV and sound system. And outside, you'll find a furnished deck and a seasonal gas grill.



In warm weather, stroll down to the lakes for fun-filled days of kayaking, canoeing, and swimming, or head out on one of the dozens of local hiking and biking trails that wind throughout the area. In winter, this home is conveniently close to several ski resorts including Royal Gorge, Springs, Sugar Bowl, and Boreal Mountain. For year-round shopping and dining, visit the town of Truckee, just 14 miles east. And for even more watersports and other lake activities, this vacation rental is less than 10 miles from the shores of Donner Lake and only 28 miles from Lake Tahoe.

Pleasant stay.

Everything we needed and more! Located about 10 minutes from Woodward Tahoe, the reason for our stay. Great kitchen to cook in, comfy beds to sleep in, and my personal favorite- a cozy nook to read in! Great location with pretty lake view. Especially enjoyed the relaxing sound of the stream while sitting on the back deck.

Another awesome stay!

We have been a few times to Sugar House, and keep coming back because we love it so much. Well appointed, great location, and was even able to get some work done with the speedy Wifi, and lots of walks and hikes around the lake. It's our happy place for sure.

Wonderful home, well stocked

We had a great stay. The home is cozy and well stocked. Lots things to play, watch and read. Our family had a wonderful time cooked and hanging out in the house. The only negatives were the deck felt cramped, the vacasa management was slow to respond and ultimately didn't have any extra bedding for the trundle bed. But otherwise, this is a great home.

We have visited Serene Lakes on several occasions and it is fun for kids and grown-ups. This house was one of the loveliest we have stayed in. Renovated recently. It has nice finishes. Lots of comfortable spots to rest and play. We hope to come back soon.

Not as advertised

This is the second time my family and I have rented this property. The first time was such a wonderful experience, we decided to rent it again. Well, this time was a very different experience for us. On our first morning we realized the coffee maker was broken. Not a good way to start the day. Immediately texted the property manager (Vacasa) and it Tom forever to get a response. Long story short, nothing was ever done to bring a working coffee machine to the house, so we had to go to Truckee to buy a percolator to get us through the weekend. Saturday evening after spending the day at the lake, we came back to the house to enjoy the hot tub (which the kids love and was one of the main reasons we rented the house), only to find the hot tub was completely broken (another disappointment). After cooking a family dinner Saturday night, we went to run the dishwasher only to find that broken too (doing dishes for 9 people weekend when we are supposed to be on vacation was not in our plans) Again, many texts to the property management company and nothing satisfactory came out of that. We spent a significant amount or money to rent a “luxury home” that was clearly not luxury. I requested what I think was a fair partial refund to make up for the amenities that were advertised but not fulfilled, and Vacasa threw a small amount at me that isn’t acceptable. They don’t care about their homeowners or guests and I won’t be renting from them again

My happy place!

We love Sugar House, and have been coming back for several years now. I think this was our fourth stay, and it is just such a perfect property. It is close to the lake so it's easy to use the kayaks/canoe, and easy to take our regular walk around the lake. The lay out is perfect, with a large master on top, two matching bedrooms on the main floor, plus the bunk room downstairs, and a full bath on every floor. The jacuzzi has always been clean, toasty, and is pretty private with a nice woodsy view. The kitchen is fully stocked, and I have been surprised many times because I brought something from home thinking it wouldn't be stocked, when in fact it was. You won't regret booking this property - it's a gem, and the only bad thing is that I don't own it! ;)

Perfect for families

Sugar House is located in a beautiful Sierra neighborhood with year-round activities. Property has many amenities, spacious bedrooms and is super comfortable for 8-9 people!

Great place to stay, management company lacking

We loved our stay at the Sugar House! The home was clean and well laid our for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids under 4yo). There are like a million "toys" (gear) in the garage for guests to use which we really appreciated having access to. It's clear the owners have put a lot of work and thought into this home (i.e. black out curtains in all the bedrooms). The only things I would call out: 1. If you have a small child who is walking but can't do stairs yet to bring a baby gate or two. 2. The hot tub was kinda gross (clearly not cleaned recently), so we did not use it. We did not have a great experience with the management company. I reached out to them several times (for small things) and never heard a thing back. But, overall, this house was perfect for our family and in a great location!

Love the Sugar House!

A great space for our family getaway. Downstairs was perfect for the kids with bunk beds and foosball. Adults could hang upstairs and had a private suite on the top floor. Nice walk to the beach, and close to Sugar Bowl and Truckee. We enjoyed the kayaks provided as well. Overall excellent experience!!!

Great house, and location with access to kayaks and canoe!!!

This house is great, the location is perfect and walkable to the lake and the boat slip. The house is very well stocked (almost too well because it was hard to get all the bowls/trays/cutting boards etc back into the cupboards they were so full!!). The layout worked well for two families. A couple of improvements: for such a well stocked house there are no tea towels or hot tub towels, which would be a nice addition. Also, when we arrived the kettle was full with leaves that somebody had used fo steep some tea, I was surprised it hadn’t been cleaned. Also, the dishwasher was still loaded (with clean dishes) and the washing machine was still loaded with clean sheets and towels. I was just a bit surprised to turn up at the house and have to unload the dishwasher and laundry. But this is likely more feedback for the management company as opposed to the house set up itself.

Super vacation spot

Superbly quiet; comfortable bed; fantastic shower; very clean . . . adds up to a great visit. Plus - a kitchen outfitted with enough cookware and tableware for a restaurant. The only thing I couldn’t find was an electric mixer!

Sweet as Sugar

Beautifully maintained, appointed and well located house in the Serene Lakes community. View of the lake next to a small creek. Nice, comfortable beds, beautiful and well stocked kitchen. We will return!:):)
