Our first night we came back to the room and there was a swarm of flying ants all over walls inside the home. We contacted the host at 9:30 pm and we waited until 11 pm for someone to show up. My daughter and I had to kill at least 50 bugs ourselves and dead ants were all over the floor. We also had a few beetles flying around, housefly’s, gnats, along with a few spiders. I notified the host we needed someone to come clean up all the dead bugs. No one was sent and we cleaned it up ourselves. After we swept the floors of dead bugs, we stuffed the cracks of the patio and front doors with paper towels. There was no weather stripping around the door jam/frame or bottom of the doors. With the large gaps, bugs were attracted to the light and swarming in. I’m not joking when I say the entire wall was COVERED. We were so tired and waited 1.5 hr for someone to show up and spray the exterior of both doors. Maintenance was made aware we had no door stripping and bugs were coming in. But the issue was not resolved during our stay. So we spent the next day and night with paper towels stuffed into the door jams and several gnats and houseflies flying around that we could never kill. I understand incidents with ants, etc. happen, but weather stripping is pretty basic. This property owner allowed large gaps under the door and around the door frames where you could actually see light coming in from around the door. Unless they address this, you will have a bug infestation in the home.
