The location and proximity to the beach was fantastic! The checkin and check out process was super easy. The place had plenty of space, the only real complaint was that hot water was scarce, and we wanted to run the dishwasher, and there was no detergent, or a sample pack of laundry detergent either. We would stay here again.

Great location

Unit is a bit dated but the location is definitely worth every penny, I would come back again. The host was very responsive to any questions or issues, I would say the incidentals such as shampoo sunscreen spices in the cupboard etc could be better compared to other properties but all n all… that location can’t be beat.

The property is better than the pictures look online. The location was perfect. We hope to go back and stay there again. Having the beach right outside our door was super fantastic. very nice location. Comfortable furniture. Three Restaurants nearby. 5 minute walk to marina for day or sunset charters. Pool directly across from condo backdoor. Taxis 5 minute walk or safari buses run frequently by property. REd Hook a mile away with restaurants and St John ferry. Would rent again.

Repeat Visit

This is our 5th stay at this complex and 2nd in this unit... Perfect venue for our requirements with a great beach and helpful support personnel... Only downside this year was the fact that we were not advised in advance about the extensive renovations being made to the entire complex which made for some major inconveniences accessing the beach and also utilizing the pool... These improvements were almost complete by the time we left so they will be able to be appreciated by future guests... We are already discussing plans for our next visit to St. Thomas and based on our total experiences this venue will continue to be our go to location...

Wonderful property.

Check in was a little hard, Boone was at the office and we had to wait a few minutes. A/c works great. Was very clean. Power outages cause wasted food from not having power. WiFi never worked.

ANOTHER GREAT VACATION

Third time at this property, first time in this unit... Great location for accessibility to the beach, pool, tennis courts and the condo itself... Unit served our purposes very well and any small issues we had were promptly addressed by the on site manager... Have stayed at other locations in St. Thomas as well as St. Croix and from our perspective Sapphire Beach and Crystal Cove can't be beat for value, amenities and proximity to the best St Thomas has to offer...

Perfect setting

Location was very user friendly. Large area in front with sidewalks for walking. A pond, green manicured grass and many glowering shrubs. Beach a short walk away. Water in 3 shades of blue. Condo was spacious. Utilitarian kitchen. Two futons in living room and a large master with lots of closet space. King size bed. Two bathrooms. Will rent again.

Beautiful Beach

My boyfriend and I stayed March 2nd - March 9th, 2021. The location is very convenient to Red Hook for shopping and dining. The condo is outdated and could use some TLC. BUT, the location is ideal. You are just steps away from Sapphire Beach which is small, but beautiful. There is a beach bar for food and drinks, and a coffee shop for breakfast and coffee. One thing you should know is that you have to take a taxi if you leave the property. Although Red Hook is only 3/4 mile away, walking there is out of the question. There are no sidwalks and it is a narrow, extremely busy road.

Almost a nice stay

Dated interior and very poorly appointed (limited kitchenware, no blanket (unit supposed to sleep 4), not even a broom, one small bar of soap for 2 bathrooms); no supplies to help keep the unit clean, e.g. dishwasher detergent. Hair dryer repeatedly blew circuit. NO check-in information - no sheet commonly found on how TV's operate, no Internet information or password. However, step out the back door to a very short walk to a BEAUTIFUL BEACH, convenient beach chairs and restaurant/bar facilities near by. With some maintenance work- painting, lighting - it would be a much better rental.

AMAZING LOCATION!

Everything was perfect during my stay here! The condo was spacious and had everything I needed! The unit is extremely clean and the bed is so comfortable! Sapphire Beach is a quick walk right outside the unit and the staff here were so friendly and accommodating. The restaurant and beach bar staff were also so amazing. The fish tacos are outstanding here! The pool and tennis court are directly across from this unit! So convenient. Taxis pick you up right at the gate and the front office staff are so friendly. Overall, I highly recommend a stay here. The unit is a bit dated but that didn’t matter to me as a single woman I wanted a clean, friendly, safe place close to the ocean! Mission accomplished and then some! One tip: the front entrance to the unit is very well lit at night….the entrance toward ocean needs some lighting outside.

Full moon over the Caribbean

My partner and I took 4 days to celebrate our birthdays in St Thomas fulfilling a wish I’ve had for as long as I can remember. The Caribbean was just yards from our back door. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and January’s full moon was breathtaking over the ocean. We even saw 4 shooting stars on the eve of our birthdays just outside our door within a matter of 1 1/2 minutes! The unit was clean and well equipped. Also the woman at the property’s office was extremely kind and helpful when we requested help with anything. Took a day trip to St John to pick up souvenirs which was also wonderful. We also took a day to visit Coral World and got to interact with dolphins which was very special and I was pleased that their proceeds go to supporting care of oceans and their special inhabitants worldwide. Also I have to say every eating establishment we visited had absolutely fresh and mouthwatering cuisine. All in all a most memorable and wonderful vacation- just too short.

Worth It!!!

Perfect except when we woke up first morning and poured water in the coffee maker we went to watch tv and when we heard it finish we got up to pour the coffee and it went all over there was a crack in the glass pot to our surprise and called the manager and she got us another one everything was excellent after that We didn't know that it was cracked it looked fine plus we didn't even touch it when first making coffee. So other then that we Obeyed their rules and would love to stay again. I personally would love to live there the rest of my life. I would rent it out for 2000. a month. Couldn't afford more. Bye now. geri + Paul.

Quick getaway

Very dated. Doors not secure. Windows missing in front door. Keys don’t work in deadbolt so you can’t secure place when gone. Front door pulls open with just handle lock engaged. Garbage disposal has interestingly wired switch UNDER the sink. Remotes missing batteries. Toilet in front bathroom doesn’t flush. (Plunger stuck) faucet in front bathroom splashes water at all flow rates. Front of fridge looks nasty. AC wotks great. Good for someone on a budget. Security would bother me if I had kids with me. Would not recommend, but it aerved my purpose.

Property needs refreshing.

The location of the VRBO was good with a couple nearby restaurants. The site had a gated entry into the neighborhood and a nice pool with lounge chairs. The security code to enter the property was the same as the pool code and the door to the unit. (We did get a key to the unit.) Significant exterior work was being performed on the next building. There were paved walkways to the beach and the restaurants next door. However many of the lights along the walkway were broken.The interior of the unit was just okay. The king size bed was fine/comfortable. The showers did not spray well and the water heater was small, resulting in very short showers and the second person waiting for hot water to regenerate. Upon arrival, the toilets were filled with brown smelly water. Apparently they had been working on that water system (separate from the water faucets). The exterior of the refrigerator looked gross/filthy. The bedroom tv worked fine, but the living room tv didn’t connect to the channels.

Sapphire Bay Condominiums West

The complex is superb. Our issues are primarily with the unit and VRBO. Only one of the three outlets in the living room works and that one was fully in use for the TV and internet. Had to use extension cords to charge phones and computer in the living room. Of the three lamps in the bedroom only one worked. We noticed on the invoice that it said 2 people even though we specified 3 on the VRBO search. We reported this discrepancy and was billed additionally but don’t know what that was for as there was no additional bedding so we improved with towels for the two futons. In fact there was only enough bedding for the one bed. So what did the extra charge per night for the additional person cover? There were no dish rags, no dish towels, no broom, no dust pan only two beach towels. We found the VRBO website extremely difficult to navigate. Once we paid any questions we had for the host took 3 to 5 days to get an answer. The unit is in desperate need of repair. We would certainly stay in the complex again but probably not in this unit.

Beach and resort are wonderful. The unit is less than desirable. Poorly lit. No light in an awful looking refrigerator. Mattress is disgusting under the padding. 2 futons in living room are very uncomfortable. On the positive: having a washer/dryer for a long stay is a plus. Being able to walk to the safari bus is great. Can get to much of the island without the cost of taxi or rental car.
