Es el escenario de nuestra pequeña y sencilla cabaña en la playa que hace que este sea un verdadero placer. Asar malvaviscos bajo un cielo estrellado, navegar en canoas por aguas tranquilas en busca del próximo pez grande, recostarse en la hamaca mientras lee, escuchar la inquietante llamada del lobo, o relajarse en la cubierta mientras el sol se pone lentamente, ESTOS son los aspectos más destacados . Si desea alejarse del bullicio y disfrutar del aire libre en una pequeña casa de campo frente al lago, ¡compruébelo!

Dos habitaciones tienen vistas al lago en esta casa de campo sencilla y sencilla. Tiene un baño completo, un amplio comedor que se abre a una terraza al aire libre y un atuendo de cocina con electrodomésticos de los '60. Es lindo.

Hemos llenado la cabaña con juegos de mesa y una televisión "retro" que solo reproduce cintas de DVD y VHS. Lo sentimos, no hay cable o wifi aquí!

Si busca un entorno tranquilo en un lago en gran parte sin desarrollar, con 75 pies de frente de agua privado en una playa de arena, ¡nuestro 'Camp Wannabe' es el lugar donde 'querrá estar'! Incluido en el alquiler se encuentra un kayak sentado sobre dos personas.

LA ZONA:
Estás cruzando hacia la península superior, una zona conocida por sus paisajes salvajes, extensiones de hermosas playas y bordeada por tres de los mejores lagos del mundo.

Justo en la puerta de entrada se encuentra el pintoresco lago Brevort, totalmente deportivo, conocido por su pesca, vida salvaje y paseos en bote.

Este lago está muy poco desarrollado, ya que el Bosque Nacional Hiawatha representa más del 65% de la fachada del lago, lo que aumenta la serenidad. El bosque nacional Hiawatha de los alrededores es más grande que 1 millón de acres, gran hábitat para águilas calvas, ciervos e incluso alces.

Brevort Lake es un refugio para lucio, perca, lucio y lubina, si la pesca es lo tuyo. Pero la navegación tradicional de "poder" es una opción, junto con el kayak o el windsurf.

Muy cerca se encuentran senderos para caminar y andar en bicicleta, como North Country Trail, Sand Dunes Cross Country Ski / Hike Trail y fácil acceso a millas de senderos ORV cuidados.

Si quiere llegar al 'Big Lake', las dunas y las playas de la US-2 están a 5 minutos. Estos son un punto caliente para nadar en verano y tomar el sol.

Good place to stay.

Nice & relaxing, I drank my morning coffee and watched the sunrise, ducks looking for food, Lake was nice & calm, very relaxing. Owner was very good & fast with communication.

Very nice. Well kept up. Clean. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of room. Everything we needed was there. We had a great week and really enjoyed having such a nice, inviting place to come back to from day trips. Sitting at the water's edge watching the daylight fade over the lake provided some incredibly beautiful views.

You pay for what you get

View of lake was awesome.Cottage had its issues, sliding glass door was not easy to open and close , screens on windows need some repair easy access for bugs, hot water in shower not hot.

Cozy cottage on the lake

Relaxing and cozy cottage on the lake. It’s beautiful, bathroom updated and beds are comfy. Just enough space for our family. Highly recommend.

I didn't want to leave....

The cabin was absolutely wonderful. The listing doesn't do it justice as to how adorable it was. The location was quiet and very relaxing. The owner was easy to work with. I would highly recommend this spot if you want to get away, unwind and unplug... I will be back next year if it is still available.

Nice lake, rough bathroom

First of all the lake is beautiful and shallow and perfect for swimming with kids. You should know that you are right next to neighbors on both sides and will not have any privacy whatsoever. The house was fine, rustic with very small bedrooms. So small we had to put our suitcase in the car after we unpacked. Not a problem for us, but FYI. Our main complaint was the bathroom, and really the shower. The shower is rough, like hunting cabin rough or a public shower at a campground. Also if traveling with kids or if you like to do things on the lake bring a canoe or kayak with you. We love the UP and had a great time exploring, but we overall disappointed with the property.

Ready to book again next year

This was our second time on the property. It was the best week of the year for our family. Everything was very well cleaned for our arrival. In terms of cost and value, this place can't be beat. Neither neighbor was there, so we had complete privacy. Our kids LOVED everything. The beach, the yard, it's all so cozy. If you don't mind things being just a little rustic, this is the place for you. If you are looking for fancy arrangements, you'll be better served paying more (quite a bit more from what I've researched) somewhere else. We were not communicated how to get into the property beforehand, and it caused quite a bit of anxiety on our long drive to the UP. Tried calling, writing and texting a couple days prior, and did not get a response. Once owner was in cell range, he was very responsive.

Secluded Lake Getaway

My family and I loved exploring the lake and surrounding area. The weather was variable (because Michigan), and the lake is big enough to get choppy in windy conditions. We enjoyed a drive up scenic US-2, played board games, and schooled our kids (9 & 11) on the use of a VCR. The listing is accurate and the property is well maintained. We were pleasantly surprised there was a double kayak that we could use. The birds and fish were beautiful and abundant. The water was warm, and the bottom of the lake is sandy at the property. I didn't realize how shallow the whole lake was (that's on me), and had my kids been younger, it would have been ideal. The water is only 12-18 inches for quite a ways, though the duck population made the edge an itchy place to be. My husband and I were in the water repeatedly to launch and dock our john boat, and we were fine. The kids had a blast splashing around and climbing the dune across the lake. The cottage itself is set on a turn, just off an access road, and it's location, position, and neighbors made it feel far more secluded than a lot of the other properties we saw on the same lake. We were able to do some stargazing on clear nights, and the skies were stunning. The property owners were responsive, generous, and Camp Wannabe gave us great memories!

Perfect week

Thank you for sharing your property. We had a peaceful, relaxing time. Enjoyed the lakeside fire pit and chairs. Daily water activities easy to access. Great for disconnecting!!

Great Little Getaway in the Upper Peninsula

We really enjoyed our stay at this place. The property was clean and had all of the amenities we needed for our week-long stay. The views of the lake at dusk were spectacular. We enjoyed getting out on the kayak to explore the warm waters of the lake. It felt a bit like stepping back in time to a simpler time. Easy to get to, easy to get to other places in the area, and reasonably priced. I would go back - the Upper Peninsula is a very special place. Thank you for an enjoyable and cozy stay.

Beautiful outside, underwhelming inside

Brevort Lake is absolutely beautiful, and the location of this cottage is perfect! Quiet, serene, peaceful, beautiful... we absolutely LOVED being outside when we could (pending weather). The fire pit was great and the property gives lots of room to roam. Use of the owner's kayak was a bonus as well. Really feels like you're in the middle of nowhere as it's off a dirt road with few neighbors (yet only a 20-30 minute drive from civilization). We hoped to get away from reality and enjoy God's creation, and this location delivered for sure. However, we were disappointed with the cottage itself. After a description and reviews of cleanliness, it was troubling to find that it wasn't that way. The bathroom and kitchen in particular were bothersome. Uncomfortably so. One thing to note for those with children - the gas heater is an open/stand up unit in the main living area. Also, there is (approx) one foot high open step/ledge from the kitchen to living room. Overall, communication with the owner was great and they answered any questions and helped with the surrounding area. Definitely a quaint little space with a beautiful location, but not as cozy as expected.

Beautiful, relaxing setting

Brevort Lake is a great place to fish, kayak, boat, or just relax to while hearing the waves hit the shore. Camp Wannabe is a great setting with nice sandy beachfront, large yard. The cottage has everything you need. Only gave 4 star rating because the bathroom could use some updating. Would recommend and stay again

Perfect UP getaway

The cabin has a beautiful open view of Brevort Lake. The water is pretty shallow so you need to use the kayak to find deeper water. The 2-person kayak has one paddle and was a nice way to explore a little bit more of the lake. The cabin came with a charcoal grill and all the things needed to use it. The cabin itself is small and perfect for a family of 3 or 4-5 adults. There are a good amount of blankets supplied if it gets cold at night. I’d recommend bringing extra towels if you have 3 or more people. Overall, this was just what we were looking for. A peaceful place to experience a slower pace of life for the week and only a 20 minute drive from Lake Michigan beaches.

Peaceful Escape.

Wonderful place to get away from life. Quiet, peaceful escape. Close to small town humanity if one needs human interaction. Some stains on ceilings - roof may be leaking. Bathroom needs updated with bigger water heater. Window screens are not fine enough to keep nats out. Overall, enjoyed three weeks of solitude.

Beautiful View - Great Property

We had an amazing family vacation, filled with really special memories. Our three and one year old were in heaven the entire time. The personal beach area is nice and our kids played in the sand and beach nearly everyday we were there. The fire pit was the perfect spot for my wife and I after put our kids to bed. There is a small gas station/grocery store about 5 minutes away if you need anything urgent. The drive to St. Ignace is quick as well. The view of the lake from one of the rooms is perfect. I loved listening to the lake each morning and night that there were waves. We also appreciated how many of the necessities were there already including firewood, charcoal, etc. The couple of cons would that the rooms are really tiny. There was also mouse poop in a number of areas when we got there. Halfway through the week we spotted the mouse scurry into a room at night, bought a trap the next day, and caught it that same night. That was kind of unsettling in such a small space, but probably to be expected. Overall it was definitely a great value for the experience. Well priced.

Good time on Brevort

Exactly what we thought it was, clean and cozy. Perfect for our young family of 5. Bathroom was a little tight but would definitely rent again.

Fantastic Vacation!

Had a GREAT Time!

We really enjoyed our stay at "Camp Wanna Be", on Brevort Lake! The area is quiet and peaceful, great for relaxation! The cabin is clean and very cutely decorated, it is small, but just large enough for the 5 of us (4 adults, 1 toddler) to fit comfortably. (It also felt larger due to the set up of furniture and paint!) We were welcomed with a nice letter from the owners and baked cookies! A neatly organized folder of near by attractions & sites was available to us, which we greatly appreciated! The lake is beautiful! Our toddler really enjoyed the sandy beach, and the clean, shallow water to play in while we enjoyed an outdoor bonfire! (We used up all the wood provided, so we bought some more for the next renters) Down the Road (on Dukes), there is a person selling firewood if you happen to run out- good deal, nice guy! Also, the gas station on Dukes has everything you need! This is the U.P. folks, so expect to bring your bug spray for the outdoors! Most of our trip was spent site-seeing. This cabin is in close proximity of The Tahquamenon Falls, Sault Ste. Maire (the Soo Locks), Mackinaw Island (I recommend a horse carriage ride!) and try to make your way west to Indian Lake one day to see "The Big Spring" aka Kitch-iti-kipi! We would love to come back again!

Fun Time

Nice cabin on the lake beautiful view really enjoyed our stay fishing not so good but a wonderful place it get away from everything and relax. Clean cabin only bad thing with our stay was misquito's , Off really works good to compel them would rent this cabin again for a relaxing vacation. Not fishing

We are Northern Michiganders, raised in Traverse City. We bought Camp Wannabe (formerly the 'Cozy Cottage') in 2013. We wanted an escape- and a place for the kids to catch frogs and get dirty. We'd rented places on VRBO before and had good experiences so we thought that'd we'd give this a try!

It's close to our home, so we can easily spend the weekend away at the lake. When we cross the 'Mighty Mac', we feel as if we literally (and figuratively) leave one place and enter another.

The area appeals to us because it is low-key and simple.

The cottage is off the beaten track, but it still has the basics covered (running water, electricity, indoor plumbing).

The setting is very relaxing and peaceful.

When you are here, you won't be overwhelmed with commercial offerings. For us, being lakeside, away from it all, helps us 'circle the wagons' and pay attention to each other!

While we were still contemplating whether to buy the property, I sat down on the back deck. As I looked out over the lake, I felt a comforting breeze on my skin and heard the wind in the trees. I shut my eyes, and listened to the sound of water lapping at the shore.

I could feel my heart rate s-l-o-w down.

When I opened my eyes, I saw a bald eagle gliding overhead. I knew that this was the place.
