FRENTE AL MAR! La casa del elefante es una isla de refugio frente al mar único y acogedor! Decorado con elefantes en todo y con unas vistas maravillosas del canal Spieden es sin duda un lugar para el disfrute y la relajación. Ubicado cerca de una milla del puerto de Roche, este retiro es conveniente para muchas comodidades, como compras, restaurantes y actividades de vida nocturna, si lo desea. Disfrute de caminatas, paseos en bicicleta o lanzar pequeños botes o kayaks de la playa de la comunidad en el istmo. Disfrute de las diferentes variedades de vida silvestre como pájaros, águilas, focas, ballenas, ciervos y zorros que habitan en las áreas alrededor de esta casa.

El alojamiento incluye un loft principal con una cama king size y una sala de estar que da a una ventana de la imagen para el agua. La segunda habitación está ubicada en el nivel principal y está amueblada con una nueva cama tamaño king.

Disfrute de relajarse por la tarde alrededor de la estufa en el salón o fuera disfrutando de la barbacoa puesta de sol en la cubierta. Una verdadera cabaña de la isla!

We love Roach Harbor after years of visiting on our sailboat. After moving to Tennessee we no long have the sailboat this stay was even better. Great views and with a peacefulness you cant get at the marina. Close enough for morning donut runs and evening colors iykuk.

Great spot with nice deck, clean but with an off scent. Not bad just off. Stairs to loft are super small and steep so not a good idea to go up if you’ve been drinking lol. Other than that, a cool spot with a beautiful view.

Loved this little cabin and the view was amazing! We had a cute little harbor seal that would pop up in the mornings and an eagle family that liked to fly by. Only negatives were the one bathroom is really small and there isn’t a second bedroom, just a loft with a bed up a very steep staircase. For my 12 year old it was fine but it would be very challenging for anyone too old or too young. I slid down a few times. Haha. But I would still stay here again. Very clean and super cute! And the loaner binoculars were a nice touch.

Nice relaxing get away

The house is comfortable and well appointed. The view of the water was breathtaking and we got to see a pod of orcas as well as local deer grazing in the yard. It was a lovely break from the routine.

Relaxing Getaway

The house is exactly as advertised and was very comfortable and relaxing. The view is phenomenal and property was perfect with a nice deck and cozy fire pit. The lower bedroom remained very quiet and dark and the bed was comfortable. Our only complaint was not staying longer. Thank you for a wonderful few nights!

Perfect place to celebrate our Anniversary!

My husband and I returned to San Juan Island for for our 10-year wedding anniversary. Perfect place for us! Check in was seamless, place was as advertised, easy parking, kitchen was well appointed. We saw Orcas, harbor seals, a fox, and a deer/fawn right from the deck. Will return!

We were blessed to see Orcas twice from the deck and a tiny baby fawn with its mother. My favorite part of staying in Friday Harbor was returning to the cabin for relaxation on the deck and firepit area while watching the boats go up and down the channel. We can't wait to book it again. We are now officially spoiled from staying here and don't want to stay anywhere else:) We loved the location and its proximity to the beautiful Roche Harbor.

Beautiful location and nice well kept home. Living room furniture and stairs difficult to manage if you have orthopedic issues. Deck was lovely highlight of the house.

Cute and cozy!

My husband and I stayed here for a week to celebrate our 25th anniversary. It was perfect for the two of us. It had everything that we needed. Walking distance to Roche Harbor (1.5 miles) for breakfast and not too long of a drive to anywhere on the island. While we weren't lucky enough to see any whales from the house, we did two different tours from Friday Harbor and saw orcas both times. You won't regret renting this cute and cozy cabin!

Amazing cabin for a quite retreat

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved this cabin. This was our first time staying on this side of the island and it was our best trip yet. The cabin was more than enough space for a couple and I can imagine would be perfect for a small family (2 adults/2 kids). Would definitely stay here again. Beautiful view of the sunrise and sunset. Quiet setting and the outdoor setup was perfect to fully take in the beauty of the location.We made most of our dinners at the house to maximize our time there. If you plan on grilling/cooking, you'll need to get all provisions at the market (seasonings, butter/oil -- there was no salt when we arrived but we purchased one and left it there). They do have small/large zip lock bags, foil and parchment paper there in the drawers.A truly great find!

Cleaning supplies are provided in all of our properties so I'm not sure why you were not able to find the dustpan. Nonetheless, I'm thrilled you enjoyed your time on the island and we hope to host you again.

The Elephant House is Unforgettable

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay here over Labor Day weekend. The ocean views, big deck, and fire pit are the highlights. The queen bed up in the loft was comfortable but the floor up there is really squeaky when you walk on it. Rather disturbing to other sleepers in the house, especially the bedroom right below. No doubt it's a cozy place for 3 or more. We liked the location being a little removed from the hustle bustle of Roche Harbor marina area. The deer and fox are sure friendly!

Everything that needed to work, worked. Including a new BBQ grill. The other thing to be aware of is you are going to need to go to Friday Harbor for any supplies. He knew that upfront and brought a lot with us. Best place we’ve stayed in, no. Would I stay there again, maybe.

Neighbors are close by, but it was quiet when we were there (including at new build home on one side). Great location on island for seclusion and being close to waterfront. Still easy to get to any point on island for activities or dinner. Upstairs bed was comfortable. Toiletries and kitchen spices were quite light. Gas heater was awesome. Unfortunate you can’t use the outdoor fire pit in June- still cool enough at nights.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice stay. Great Location, very private and quiet. Beautiful views, very clean property. Down side: No screens on several windows and with the invasion of mosquitos at night it was hard to cool the place down. Luckily we brought a fan from home that helped. Would have been nice to have a couple provided. It would have also been nice to have an umbrella for the patio table. Also, housekeeping needs to leave more supplies, ie; there was only 1 extra trash bag which was not adequate for our stay and the amount of cooking we did. We almost ran out of toilet paper and paper towels. Again we could not find any extras. Lastly, we could not find instructions on how to lock the front door. It took a while to figure it out. It would have been nice to leave directions on the door.Overall we had a fun stay but I would not return to this property unless I knew that the screens had been replaced and fans were provided.
