La cabina en Muggs Pond

Construido en 1975 y remodelado en 2006, The Cabin at Muggs Pond ofrece la cantidad perfecta de reclusión de montaña a sólo 10 minutos (y tres señales de alto) de la Universidad del Sur y San Campus Andrew's-Sewanee escolares. Lleno de encanto rústico y llamarada ecléctica, la cabina también viene equipado con todas las necesidades modernas y características que necesita durante una escapada de fin de semana o unas largas vacaciones.

Paso fuera de la puerta trasera de la cabina para acceder fácilmente a un 1 ¾ millas sendero perfecto para caminar, correr o andar en bicicleta. Dé un paseo hasta Muggs Pond para un montón de pesca, el piragüismo y la natación. Disfrute de tazas de café o cócteles por la noche en la cubierta porche trasero de la cabina. Grill deliciosas cenas en gran cubierta lateral de la cabina, completa con una función de asiento del banco.

Gran sala de la cabina incluye un vitral hermoso y gran chimenea de piedra de la montaña, completamente equipada con leña para las noches frías de invierno. Cada uno de los dormitorios en la planta principal tiene su propio baño 1/2 (inodoro y lavabo) y comparte un plato de ducha con un dormitorio contiguo. Baño completo original de la cabina también se encuentra en el nivel principal, fuera de la cocina. Sube por la escalera de caracol para llegar dormitorio tipo loft de La Cabaña, que cuenta con una acogedora sala de estar / sala adyacente al que lo hace ideal para leer libros, ver películas o jugar juegos de mesa con amigos.

Excelente para cualquier ocasión (Myers Point, un lugar favorito para bodas y recepciones Sewanee; es sólo 1/4 milla de distancia!), La cabina está seguro de que su viaje a la montaña uno para recordar.

We had a lovely stay! The host was incredibly accommodating and generous. The cabin was clean and cozy, and we had plenty to do! Hiking, fishing, bonfires, and the cabin had plenty of games and books for the kids. The kitchen was amazing and fully-stocked with high-quality appliances and utensils. We would love to visit again.

Fantastic Cabin!! We are 5 women age 40-50. Everyone had their own bedroom and toilet, which was a huge plus. The downstairs bedrooms have Jack and Jill bathroom setups, which was really cute. The kitchen has absolutely everything you could need and more. We made a big breakfast on Saturday morning and had more than what we needed to get it done. The outdoor spaces are wonderful, especially the fire pit and pond. The property is very serene and is a great place to spend time with family or friends. We all agreed that we hope to make it a yearly tradition to stay at this cabin. Easily one of the best rental properties I have ever stayed in!

We attended a family wedding on Meyer's Point. Our VRBO was perfectly located to the event. Everyone commented on how well the configuration of the rooms and bathrooms were situated. We didn't use the kitchen much, but it was well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed the back porch! 5 stars for sure! Thank you, Bill and Carrie.

Log Cabin In The Woods

The cabin consists of an OLD log cabin with a newer wing added that blends the old with the new. The cabin is furnished warmly with eclectic art and objects... always something new to greet the eye. The fireplace is massive and draws very well. Two decks. Kitchen is amazing with updated appliances. Outstanding property with a pond and walking trails. Great for large groups. Highly recommended.

Perfect vacation spot

Billl and Carrie are wonderful host. The house was perfect for family and friends. Wonderful side porch for reading and napping and a lovely fire pit surrounded by comfy Adirondack chairs. Hiking trails are easily marked with a hiking map available. The kitchen lacks for nothing and there is a large gas grill available for use!! And the large bowl of delicious snacks was a huge hit We loved our stay

A Fantastic Home Base for Your Sewanee/Monteagle Stay

I love The Cabin @ Mugg's Pond. The property is both spacious and cozy; we were a group of 8 friends, and there was room for all of us to hang out together, but also for people to have their own space when the need to recharge arose. Comfortably and attractively furnished, the kitchen is a particular highlight. Recently updated, and fantastically equipped, it was perfect for accommodating many chefs. The hosts are a pleasure with which to interact - they are quick to respond to any queries, and go above and beyond to make sure that the stay at The Cabin is an enjoyable one. I look forward to a return visit....

25th Wedding Anniversary

We had an absolutely incredible weekend. The house was stocked with anything you might need. There was plenty of room for 10 of us. So peaceful and serene. The best getaway. I would recommend to anyone looking for a family/friends getaway. The only issue was the bedroom on top floor had wasps but the owners had spray. Thanks to the owners for such an amazing weekend. We will definitely book again!

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

We were in town for a wedding. My husband, our youngest son (20) and my sister stayed here. The house had plenty of room for us and guests off and on for the 5 days we were here. The Cabin is rustic but beautiful with every amenity you could hope for. I appreciated all of the bathrooms and the toiletries provided as well as a Kurig with plenty of pods ready to go. Our son loved the snack basket. 😉 The Cabin was comfy, inviting and had everything we needed. Plus it's pretty fast and easy to get to both Sewanee and Monteagle. Thank you so much for everything! We'll look to stay here if/when we're back in the future.

Secluded but close

The property is beautiful and we had a perfect fall weekend to enjoy leaf season. The cabin is spacious, accommodating and very well equipped. A college classmate who lives in Dallas has a son at Sewanee who is in the football team. Our daughter graduated from and was married at Sewanee so it is a great opportunity to see an old friend and be on the mountaintop. We were here last year and plan to return next fall.

The Cabin is a great cabin

We really enjoyed our stay, it was so much more than you see in the picture. The pond has great fishing. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch listening to all the birds and watching the squirrels play. It was so great of a home, we are wanting to rent The Cabin again in the future.

Sewanee Graduation 2023

peaceful, rustic cabin in the woods, surrounded by bird song. The Cabin on Muggs pond was the perfect place to unwind and relax from all the graduation festivities. In the morning we would gather on the porch for coffee and listen to the birds all around us. Evenings found us listening to music, cooking dinner, visiting on the porch or deck, and playing Scrabble in this cozy cabin that has all the amenities. We were sad to leave .

Family weekend

6 of us stayed at The Cabin and it was perfect for us. Visiting my son at The University of the South, we had a perfect place to relax, gather ourselves in the morning, built a roaring fire one evening and just enjoy being together. Very close to Sewanee, TN - this spot really made our weekend special.

A MOST EXCELLENT TIME

Everything was exceptional. There with Family to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary and out grandson's potential entrance into Sewanee (Indeed he will). Couldn't ask for a better place to celebrate, nor better hosts. Bill & Carrie were fantastic, going above & beyond to insure our stay was memorable...and it was. Planning to return often.

Family retreat

We had our 3 daughters/spouses and grandhcildren. Cabin is very comfortable. It has all the amentiies needed for a family stay. Great fireplace in living room. Plenty of room to get away if needed. Look forward to going back for our third stay here.

Beautiful cabin in the woods

You will not be disappointed staying in this cabin!! It has everything you need and more. The owners are so accommodating and make everything perfect!! Our family had a wonderful weekend staying there over family weekend at Sewanne! Do yourself a favor and relax and rejuvenate at this cabin in the woods!!

A Perfect Gathering Place

What an amazing cabin, with two lovely porches and spacious kitchen/dining area & den for our two families to gather. The cabin has all the amenities and is in the lovelies possible setting. The owners were very gracious and responded to our texts very promptly.

Great place for groups!

This place was perfect for groups of any size. Clean, cute and comfortable bedrooms - and we spend most of our time on both of the gorgeous porches. Don't cheat yourself by skipping the pond. Take the little trail down to the water and soak up the surroundings. I have rented three cabins in this area for this particular group of women before, and they all agreed that this was their favorite.

Carrie and Bill both graduated from Sewanee. Bill is the class of 1972 and Carrie, 1978. Bill is a local general contractor and Carrie teaches 2 and 3 year olds at the Regio inspired Sewanee Children's Center in Sewanee. They have lived next door to The Cabin (originally built by Sewanee alums Jamie and Martee Hewitt) for over 33 years. The original one bedroom log cabin (built in 1974) was added on to in 2002, expanding it to 5 bedrooms. The pond itself, built in 1983, is named for Bill's father's nickname.
