I arrived after dark so it was a bit intimidating driving the moutain roads. Thankfully GPS brought me directly to the address. Though I was able to easily manage the large horse gate to get onto the property, I can see where it may be difficult for others. Everything inside was very nice - clean, comfortable, so many amenities. The furniture was comfortable, plenty of blankets. It was quite warm the first 2 days I was there and I had to run the wall AC units. But after that, it cooled off and I opened the windows, snuggled under blankets and listened to the evening sounds of crickets and coyotes. It took a few tries to figure out how to run the shower. The water coming out of the wall shower head never got warmer than cool room temperature but once I figured out how to turn on the hand held showerhead, I was able to take nice wam showers. Thank goodness for the bathroom heater. The mattress was too firm for me so I remade the bed with a thick comforter I found in a closet and placed on top of the mattress under the sheets. After that, I slept great. Several of the flowers around the property were still in bloom and I saw lots of butterflies flying about. Early morning sunrises over the mountains behind the barn made for several amazing photos. My stay was very peaceful and the hosts made it very easy to relax and enjoy their beautiful property.

Heaven on Earth

We had a wonderful stay! This was our second time at this property and words can’t describe it! The view is spectacular and the house is very clean and well stocked. Communication with Ron is very easy and he answers all your questions. Highly recommend staying here and we will definitely be returning!
Coffee in the mornings with the wonderful view!!

Great for getting away

Very relaxing stay in a beautiful location. Lots to do in the area and there are good restaurants. House is well equipped, the bed is comfortable, and the a/c works. Would return.

Peaceful and serene

Clean, comfortable bed, well stocked. Very secluded, peaceful place but close to Ingles and restaurants. Good hiking in the area. Communication with Ron was excellent, checkin was smooth. I would stay here again.

Beautiful and Quiet

My wife and I enjoyed our stay. It was just the right size for the two of us and the setting was lovely. Our only complaints are that the television service does not include a lot of channels/apps and that there were several wasp nests under the patio awnings. Also, it would have been nice if you could drive onto the far end of the patio concrete and park there instead of having to park in the grass.

Second visit as great as the first

This year we planned ahead- meaning we didn’t bother trying to visit anywhere else, we brought all of our food and relaxed on the property with our dogs. The photos truly undersell this spot. It is clean and provides everything you need for an escape from the rest of the world

Cozy Cabin with Amazing Mountain Views

Ron was an excellent host in getting back to us in answering questions re: heaters in the home, etc. The cabin was tidy, and had gorgeous views from all windows. IF someone has mobility issues, the different levels and steps might be a problem, but otherwise, it was an awesome and relaxing getaway, and we'd stay again in possible!

Lovely place with a beautiful view

Such a find... Lovely place with a beautiful view. Clean and had everything we needed. Very cozy. We are excited to reserve again in the near future. Also, if you want to eat out, there was amazing food in Clayton and surround towns.

Beautiful views

Due to the beautiful views we stayed outside more than inside. I feel like the landscape around the sitting areas could have been a little cleaned up and neater. Seemed like they were longing for attention. Overall we did enjoy our stay very much and would most likely stay again. Ron was very nice and answered all of our questions.

A mountain Getaway at Rabun Gap, GA

The cabin was located in a very pretty field with an old barn. Pretty countryside. The interior was all wood and you could tell that a lot of work and care had been given to update this cabin PROS - The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was small but had most things you needed including a dishwasher. Crockpots, etc. CONS - The pots and pans need to be updated. The oven needed cleaning. Lids did not fit the smaller pans and the three outside porches were dirty and unkept with landscaping very over grown. The outdoor grill needs a new grill to to cook on. The second smaller bedroom was well put together except that it was completely open to a narrower long utility room with a washer and dryer, vacuum cleaner broom and mop and cleaning tools in view. A curtain, door or screen separating the bed room from all that, would have been blocked all that out and made the second bedroom much warmer looking, not so cluttered and not an eyesore. Over all, we loved the peacefulness of the place, the master bedroom was large and very comfortable with a king size bed and the bathroom was very nice, especially the very large shower. For the exceptions of the minor cons, which could be corrected quickly, it was an enjoyable stay.

Perfect spot for our family and pups

This exceeded my expectations. The dogs had a great time roaming the property. And the views from the porch are awesome. Plenty of space for our small family and the owner is beyond generous with the extras that are supplied throughout the house. We will definitely be back soon!

Lack of cleanliness, monitoring us throughout our stay

The property has beautiful views as shown in the pictures however the home smelt like dog pee and was covered in dust and hair upon arrival. The dishes and silverware all needed to be washed before use having food and dirt on them. There were pans covered in fat and grease. The pillows and linens had hair on them they did let us know there were new sheets to use but this is not acceptable to me. They will watch you on their outdoor ring camera. We were told it is only on during check in/out but it was lit up the entirety of our stay. There is no area to park you will go through a gate and drive through the yard to get to the house it may be best not to have a small car for this. The outside space was covered in brush, webs and was not kept up. There is a dog that runs around loose so I would keep an eye out for that it chases us down the drive to the house at night. I would not recommend staying here but would recommend staying in the Clayton area.

Exceeded expectations

Photos really under-sell this location. Cabin is perfect, lots of windows with great natural light, beautiful view, great walk in shower. Dogs enjoyed it the most! Only thing which could have been better is if there was more of a path mowed on the property around the tall grass- but this was really just timing when surrounded by a hay field.
