Beautifully decorated, amazingly appointed kitchen,the elevator made it easy to bring everything to the third floor kitchen. This house is perfect for a multi generation family vacation. Grandparents on the second floor, parents and grandchild on the third floor and everyone can meet to gather and cook on the third floor. As usual Coastal Joe's never disappoints. We had a minor issue with the electricity going out. Coastal Joe's had an staff member over immediately, in the pouring rain, I might add. He knew exactly where the breaker box was and fixed the problem right away.This is our third vacation with Coastal Joe's, thir integrity, attention to detail and customer service is the best. The house was very clean and a joy and privilege to stay in.

We also enjoyed all the room in the house, where we could retreat to our private spaces. We had an issue with a grill and called Coastal Joe, they responded quickly and we had a working grill for dinner. The beach was amazing, can't wait to do it again!

Coastal Joe's Vacation Rental

Reviewer Comments: I wanted to let you know first how much my husband and I appreciated Coastal Joe's for looking out for us and making sure our stay was wonderful. The concern your office took when the original rental house had a roof leak was so caring and kind. We were even more grateful knowing we were in a safe place when we had a big storm and high winds one night. We felt snug and secure in the beautiful home you provided. The accommodations were perfect. This was our first trip to Cape San Blas.We will be back regularly from now on. It is so convenient to Port Saint Joe and Appilachicola for day trips and restaurants. Avalon By The Sea had such a well stocked kitchen, we cooked two meals a day and enjoyed local restaurants for the other. This was such a peaceful vacation. We were amazed at how beautiful the stars were at night. It was the best beach I have ever spent time on. We found a very minor issue with the bathroom pocket door, the latch was falling off, so minora detail, if we had any screws we would have fixed it ourselves. The house was beautiful, comfortable and accommodated our every need.Even our checkout was great, we left on a Sunday morning while the office was closed and dropped off the keys under the kind supervision of a gorgeous orange feline Coastal Joe employee. Thank you for a wonderful vacation! We will be contacting you to make reservations in the fall!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time. The only thing that seemed unreasonable was the trash situtaion. It doesnt seem reasonable that we drag the trash cans so far up that huge rocky road. It seemed like a 1/8 of a mile on a very uneven path. Paying that much for a rental should not require that chore. We also should not be required to collect all trash in the house if we are paying a cleaning fee. Those two things were unreasonable. Enough for us not to stay again with the kind of rental fee we paid ($$$$). The house was beautiful and well stocked. The only thing I would suggest is stocking trash bags if you require so much from renters related to the trash. Having the option for Coastal Joe beach rentals was very nice. The views were beautiful and the staff was helpful.

Excellent Beach house

The beach house was perfect. Our family had an incredible vacation. We loved the house, the location, the 4 master suites, and the amenities. Cape San Blas is indeed a hidden gem, and so is this beach house. We will certainly be coming back again.

Location is great, beds are great, the elevator is a huge help, and the house is always very clean. Each floor has its own HVAC. Great location - Home needs Maintenance and TLC

Reviewer Comments: We took 2 families (4 adults, 4 children) to stay @ Avalon by the Sea the last week of Sep-22. We were grateful to enjoy our full week after potential disruption from Hurricane Ian threatened the weather. The home itself is solid & great layout (grateful for the elevator!). Also the location is excellent - great beach access and right in the middle of everything on CSB! Unfortunately, it's clear the home has been allowed to deteriorate and has not been properly maintained and cared for.Exterior:- Pool was dirty & dead rat in the skimmer; pool area was cluttered with broken toys/floats/trash from prior tenants; weeds overgrown into the pool area- Electrical panel box held together with duct tape- Gas grill broken; reported twice & mgmt did bring a new grill on our 5th day- Outdoor shower filled with leftover toys & trash- Pool furniture broken/unusable- Patio furniture cushions were moldedInterior:- Floors had not been cleaned (sand/dust everywhere, obviously not mopped prior to our arrival) on all floors- Refrigerator leaked & soaked an entire bath towel each night. This was reported twice but not addressed by mgmt until our 2nd to last day. Also was very worn (exterior of fridge was rusted) % drawers broken inside. - Dead (petrified) frog in half bath on 3rd floor (another sign of poor/no cleaning)- only 2 small kitchen trash bags provided for entire week- Bedding - sheets appeared clean but the comforter & bed lining in 4th floor smaller King stained- Remotes missing for most TVs or didn't work- Bathroom door in smaller 4th Fl King did not closeWifi provided, but slow (perhaps due to multiple devices streaming @ night). The mattresses were comfortable. Kitchen well stocked, but dishes did not appear clean so we ran a load in the dishwasher upon arrival. We left the home in better shape than we arrived - vacuuming all floors & sterilizing countertops, door handles &

Avalon By The Sea is a Gorgeous Beach Home located in the center of Cape San Blas. Avalon is fully stocked and has all the great amenities one could ask for. We enjoyed our stay, and had a wonderful vacation getting to spend some quality time with family and friends. All the local people were very nice, informative and helpful. I would HIGHLY recommend Coastal Joe Vacation Rental and Avalon By The Sea. This will be my new “GO TO” beach area. We love that the area is un-commercialized, the beach is very clean, bonfires in the sand, and the Sunsets are AMAZING!! Thank You Coastal Joe Vacation Rentals for all the great service you provided. Great house

The layout of 2 bedrooms per floor, with bunks tucked away on the top floor, would be ideal for a large group. The kitchen well-equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The few cons which we shared with Coastal Joe in our private review at checkout - the house was not clean upon arrival. We swept floors of hair and sand, the sofa and side chairs were very uncomfortable. We would return, all things considered.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Upon arrival to the home we immediately noticed it is very "worn" compared to the photos on the listing. While the home is beautifully decorated and well stocked, it was extremely dirty. The appliances such as the fridge has rust/black stuff on the rubber areas which is not appealing. The washing machine had clumps of dog hair on the door and inside the rubber area, etc. Also a black residue or substance was on the rubber area inside the door as well. The washing machine had a mildew odor. The grill was unusable and we had to request a replacement. The shower walls and glass had a ton of soap scum. Toilets were not clean. So gross!! Sand all over pool deck which is not cool when you clean your feet off with the hose and they immediately get sandy again. Dog hair was visible on floors - short white hairs.We have stayed in several nice homes on the Cape and this one was the worst due to the condition. We would not rent this house again. The house overall needs a detailed deep clean. Kitchen cabinets need to be wiped down. Door tracks were visibly dirty. Baseboards need to be cleaned. Vent hood for the stovetop did not work. Another item to consider is to rearrange the bottom floor bed/foosball area. Having a bed partially blocking the door to the outside / pool area makes NO sense. This was super annoying coming in and out of the house. I would suggest moving that bed blocking the door to the back wall and placing the foosball table in the place where the bed is currently blocking the door. There were also several lights out in the bathrooms.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This year was our 2nd stay in this home, and we’ve already booked it for next year. For our group, the space and sleeping arrangements work out perfectly. The house is clean upon arrival and is fully stocked. There were reviews regarding the driveway in previous posts. This has been fixed. The sand is no longer too soft to drive on, and you can get a 2WD vehicle in the parking area easily. It is a tight fit, but we were able to fit 3 large cars close to the house. There are a couple of issues with the home as far as maintenance items, but we notified CoastalJoe’s about those and they wouldn’t affect our stay if left unattended. (Dull knives, couple of lights not working, etc) Also - a big thanks to Coastal Joe’s for superior customer service. The grill was oretty old that was at the home and made cooking difficult. They immediately replaced it with a brand new one within a couple hours.
