Great stray in Galveston

Spent the month. Great location, not too far down the west end to make it a trip to get into the city. Nice empty beach 100 yards away. Loaded with beach accessories: chairs, umbrella, fishing gear, bodyboard, etc. I would recommend a visit.

Relaxing beach stay

We had a wonderful stay! The house was located within very easy walking distance to the beach. The neighborhood is quiet with a grocery store and restaurants near by. The house was comfortable and there was plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 children. The kitchen was well stocked. We would definitely stay here again.

Living and Laughing

Just right for our get-together! Room for arts and crafts that I brought for my granddaughters to do when not playing in the gulf. (The girls loved playing in the water AND after dark taking small nets and flashlights to the beach to hunt for speedy sand crabs! (Everyone had a lit of laughs). Thank you for sharing your wonderful home. The only thing we didn’t find was cereal bowls).

Nice views of the beach

The property was better than expected. Remote. The views of the water are everywhere. The house was clean and spacious. If you go, you will be tempted to walk straight to the beach. if so, the neighbor (the house in front) will tell you to get off their property. The actual access to the beach is three houses down. You will see a sign for beach public access. once we figured that out, the beach was easy to get to. The drive into town is a pleasant one and about 20 minutes from the house. We will book again.

Great location

Great proximity to the beach. The neighborhood is quiet & cute. The house itself met all of our needs just fine but could use some TLC as far as aesthetics & cleanliness. Lots of little things that could use attention, like door handles & knobs, outlets & doors. The master shower door is not secure & even a piece of it came apart & the folding door to the bathroom is a whole broken mess. The water closet door doesn't latch so you can’t close it all the way & lock it. Also, the mattress could stand to be replaced. You will need some sort of degree to figure out the lights & fans in this place. The listing says it sleeps 10 but realistically more than 9 people is too many for this space. 2 of those 9 people would be sleeping on the fold out couch in the living room with no privacy. They allow dogs & there is a fenced-in yard, so that was good. The kitchen has the basics but could use another couple of skillets & definitely more silverware. In my opinion, & to be totally honest, whoever is cleaning this place should be fired. The kitchen is dirty with food & drink spilled down the sides and fronts of the cupboards & drawers which is clearly obvious so shouldn’t be missed during cleaning. Behind the faucets in the bathrooms were filthy and clearly not thoroughly cleaned & the space under the TV in the living room is full of dust & dust bunnies. On the positive side, the walk to the beach is convenient & overall it’s a nice quiet place and close enough to all the touristy areas.

House needs immediate TLC

Do not book this property until the cleanliness issues and health and safety issues are addressed. The property owners are very easy to communicate with, were apologetic and issued our refund quickly, however we had to leave the property and find a new rental. We were still required to pay a full nights stay even though we communicated our concerns immediately upon arrival and we’re not able to find alternative lodging for the night. The amount of time and stress that went into canceling this reservation and finding a new property definitely overshadowed the joy of being at the beach. The house needs a lot of TLC before it should be rented. It has the potential to be a fabulous rental as the size and location are great. The cleaning company was blamed, however the house needs more then just a surface clean.

Excellent location

The property came with amazing views, and it was just a short drive to town. There was so much deck space. The owner was very quick to respond as well. My family loved it. Would stay again.

Amazing beach house!

Grace and her husband are amazing people who helped us no matter what happened! The house has an amazing view and the inside of the home was so clean and maintained (the outside needs TLC) the acess to the beach was just a few steps from the house! And me, my husband and our 2 kiddos and dogs throughly enjoyed ourselves, we will definitely be renting again!

Week at the Beach

Highly recommend this property especially for the affordable rate. House was very clean and AC worked great! Recent updates to the house really helped. The floors were redone and walls had fresh paint. Furniture was in good condition. The exterior does need some work but we thoroughly enjoyed the house and it’s excellent location. We were less than 100 steps to the beach. We had two little kids (under 3) and they loved all the beach toys! Owner was very responsive for questions at check in. Will rent from again!

My only concern is the balcony has a spot that is rusted out if someone leans hard on it could fall off the balcony .. it is very brittle

Perfect location!

Walk right to the beach. Amazing decks close enough that mosquitoes stay away. A/C worked well, and the layout was fun for the kids. We will definitely try to rent this one again next trip. Grace replied promptly to any inquiries. The water and ice from the fridge was unavailable, but the grocery store is right next door so anything you need is likely close at hand.

I had my own beach house for 14 years on this street and my parents owned this house early 90s. It’s the perfect location and very comfortable! We had a ball!!!

Beautiful view

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the house. The inside has been updated but the outside needs some repairs and paint. We stayed about 10 days and discovered many things that need repair!! It is listed to sleep 10 but that would require 4 people in a bunk bed with a trundle. We found the room too small for 4 people. Since I did not have a full house, it was not a problem for us. This room would be fine for children. It comfortable sleeps 8. Overall we had a wonderful time and the location is AWESOME!!

Good location property needs some maintenance

This beach house is very conveniently located near the beach. We brought the entire family including our fur babies, but there was no fence as listed in the description. It was a challenge to cook with what was provided in the kitchen but we brought foil and plastic utensils and made due. We did find a great restaurant called Nate’s within walking distance! All in all we had a great time and there was plenty of room but I would have picked a different property if I had known about some of the issues we had beforehand.

Beautiful view & great stay!

My partner, dog & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The property is beautiful and well kept. The views from the balcony are stellar and the proximity to the beach is perfect. The home is stocked with everything you could need; kitchen odds & ends, games books, towels, beach toys, smart TVs etc! The property manager was responsive and answered all questions. The listing does show a fence on the property however, at the time of our stay the fence was down due to a recent storm. The fence was a large attraction for us to book because of our dog. The down fence made our stay a little bit of a challenge but we managed! Highly recommend this property & look forward to booking again in the future.

Relaxing Get Away

We loved the location and property. The fenced in backyard was great for our puppy. It was super close to walk to the beach and the views were awesome. We enjoyed the top deck off the master. Nice kitchen and baths. We will definitely stay here again.
