Arroyo Seco - Los Altos - Half way between Village of Taos, New Mexico and Taos Ski Valley - 8 miles in either direction

Large, beautifully furnished and custom built, Casa Luminosa plus optional Casita Luminosa guest house sleeps the largest # of guests in Los Altos. Main house sleeps 12. Guest house sleeps 4. This deluxe home in the prestigious community of Los Altos is located half way up the mountain between Town and Ski Valley being 8 miles from the town of Taos, NM and 8 miles from Taos Ski Valley for winter skiing and summer hiking and biking. A large sunken living room with 3 walls of jumbo windows maximizes panoramic South, East and West mountain and pasture views.

The open floor plan allows abundant space for group interaction and activity between kitchen, dining and living areas. The living room game table and kitchen breakfast bar add additional dining for 6.

A special feature is the 2 bedroom suite created by shared bathroom with shower, bedroom #4 with bunk bed and den bedroom #5 with Queen futon and twin bed. This combo adds a separate getaway for the younger crowd with its' own TV or for a couple with small children needing a more removed buffered quiet area away from group hustle and bustle.

The OPTIONAL guest house is a wonderfully light, bright and spacious studio sleeping 4 additional guests on a King and a double futon adding an additional bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and laundry facility for large groups of 16 maximum. The popular roof top view deck is a special added feature of this popular guest house. Please contact our office if you wish to add the guest house to the reservation.

As with all Los Altos homes, guests have privileges at the Los Altos Club House offering year round indoor pool and Tennis Court.

Great Place for Girls Trip

This house was perfect for our group of girls - lots of space for us to rest, hang out, play games, watch movies, and hang in the hot tub. Easy drive to Taos for shopping and eating. House had everything we needed. They must have had a power surge recently because a lot of light bulbs were out but I texted the property manager and they were there with new ones right away. Lots of parking. Quiet neighborhood. Would love to stay here again!

Everyone had a room, although if you have a lot of single people the futon was a little tight. The house was very clean and well appointed. The grounds were very nice. If we go back to Taos again we will certainly rent this again.

We appreciated the how well stocked the kitchen was with silverware and cooking utensils and a professional Wolf oven. The house is quiet and great for star gazing. The hot tub and grill were well maintained.Communication with the host was professional, prompt, and friendly.A few tips:You absolutely MUST have a dinner at ACEQ - book a reservation if you have a big group. The Sol organic market in Aseq has a nice selection of meat and organic vegetables if you plan on making your own meals.Our favorite runs were the right side of Main Street and the Hunziker Bowl. The bowl is protected from the wind, had very few people and held a lot of fresh snow.Book the place for your trip to Taos - you’ll be happy.

Great Location, Desperately Need Renovation

Reviewer Comments: The location, size of the home, the hot tub, and outdoor grill were all great. The mattresses and bedding (stained) were in need of replacement in three of four rooms. The kitchen faucet required a screw driver to turn it off once it was on and the master bath did not have enough water pressure to shower (only a trickle at best) - super inconvenient. The master bedroom had a door to a lovely little private porch but the lock had been removed and there was physically a hole to the outside in the door when it was closed.

We used the hot tub right off!With 6 adults and 6 children, we made use of every bed, towel and pot and pan! The location was great as we skied at Angel Fire and snowmobiled at Taos. It was pricey due to it being spring break, not the advertised price. We would definitely when the rates are normal.

The openness of the lots allows for beautiful views in all directions, especially to the west where mountains loom.Inside, the home is fully furnished and has more than enough amenities for a full house. The hot tub fits 4 comfortably and was well maintained.The staff were extremely friendly and helpful in every encounter.

The house in Taos was a perfect place to accommodate multiple families with kids of different ages. We were pleasantly surprised when walking through the front door - the home exceeded our expectations - much more beautiful than the pictures reflect. One thing to note - there were no air conditioners or fans. We depended on the cool night breeze for relief from the mid day desert heat.

Close to the slopes but outside the Valley, it was much more affordable than a Chalet and was capable of comfort and privacy for 8 of us. George, the caretaker, was very helpful and the property company even helped us get our ski rental organized. It was so relaxing to have beers in the hot tub and watch the sunset.
