Amazing apartment, fantastic location with great views of the sea and sunsets every night - couldn't ask for anything more. Loads of great bars and restaurants right near by. Host is super responsive and helpful too.

Glorious sea views

Had a lovely stay. Our host was extremely helpful and communicative, so arrival was very easy. The apartment is clean and well presented with the most stunning outlook over the ocean. The location has easy access to plenty of restaurants and bars. Highly tecommended

Awesome apartment!

My husband and I stayed for a week in this wonderful apartment. The view is amazing! We were in the ocean within 5 minutes of leaving the apartment. The pool is refreshing, and a bit warmer than the ocean. There are a couple if restaurants within easy walking distance, and of you're up to elevation gain, its not far from the main street. It's a €5 taxi ride into Funchal. Nyara was so easy to communicate with! She responded quickly every time we messaged her. Her husband, Miguel, gave us a really fun jeep tour. We plan to visit again!

Wunderschönes Apartment in Funchal (Praia Formosa)

Wir fanden alles so vor, wie es uns per Inserat versprochen wurde und die Kommunikation mit unserer Vermieterin war extrem freundlich, unkompliziert und zuvorkommend. Wir haben viele Tipps für Ausflüge erhalten, eine genaue Beschreibung, wo sich alles fußläufig in der Nähe befindet und wo der Bus nach Funchal fährt. Das Apartment hat eine sehr ruhige Lage und gute Busanbindung nach Funchal. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind fußläufig - sogar eine deutsche Bäckerei! - sowie Bars und Restaurants mit großer Auswahl. Wir können das Apartment bestens empfehlen!

Die Lage und Ausstattung der Penthouse-Wohnung sind perfekt. Strand vor der Tür mit vielen kleinen Restaurants oder Snackbars. Der Ausblick vom Balkon und der riesigen Dachterrasse sind atemberaubend. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Zum Wandern ist der Ausgangspunkt Funchal bestens geeignet. Prädikat „unbedingt empfehlenswert“.

Meeresrauschen beim Einschlafen.

Das Penthouse selbst liegt hervorragend. Sehr schöne Aussicht auf das Meer und den Strand. Das grosse Doppelbett ist sehr bequem. Das Apartment dürfte insgesamt sauberer geputzt sein. Die Umgebung des Gebäudekomplexes lässt zu wünschen übrig. Poolbar sowie Hotelbar wären vorhanden, sind aber wohl seit längerer Zeit nicht mehr in Betrieb. Die Zufahrt und Umgebung der Praia Formosa haben ihre Glanztage schon länger hinter sich. Sehr schade.

Tolle Ferienwohnung. Gastgeberin Nyara ist super nett und hilfsbereit. Im August muss man mit Besuch von Stechmücken rechnen. Ansonsten alles super: Zentral gelegen in Strandnähe!

Loved it

Nyara was probably the best part if the trip! From booking she made sure our needs were catered for, from booking transfers to suggesting activities for us to do. She even had a lovely bottle of wine and some beers for us when we arrived. Accommodation is exactly as shown, was clean, tidy and homely. Thank you for helping make our first trip to Madeira so joyous

Sehr schönes und geräumiges Apartment und nette Vermieter!

Das Apartment ist genau wie beschrieben und liegt im obersten Stock einer größeren Komplexes, wie es in dieser Lage Standard ist. Der Balkon und die separate Sonnenterasse lassen einen schönen Blick auf das Meer zu. Die beiden Schlafzimmer sind mit ordentlichen Betten ausgestattet, Wohnzimmer und Küche erfüllen die Bedürfnisse eines Ferienaufenthalts. Die Vermieterin Nyara hat uns am Anreisetag freundlich empfangen und war bei der Buchung eines Transports vom Flughafen zur Wohnung behilflich. Sie hatte auch eine Menge Tips zum Aufenthalt in Funchal und zu Restaurants im Umkreis. Die Flasche Wein zur Begrüßung war eine nette Geste, und unsere Fragen während des Aufenthalts wurden immer schnell beantwortet. Wir haben uns in der Woche dort sehr wohl gefühlt, das Apartment bietet ausreichend Platz für 4 Personen und erlaubt die Zubereitung kleinerer Mahlzeiten. Die Waschmaschine ist praktisch, wenn man kurz etwas durchwaschen will oder nicht soviel Gepäck mitnehmen möchte. Die Innenstadt von Funchal ist bequem mit Bussen zu erreichen, selbst zum Flughafen kann man bequem mit dem Bus, der quasi vor der Tür abfährt, gelangen. Für Ausflüge zu anderen Teilen der Insel ist aber ein Mietwagen empfehlenswert. Ein besonderes Highlight war der Jeep-Ausflug, den wir bei Miguel, dem Ehemann von Nyara, gebucht hatten. Miguel hat uns Orte auf der Insel gezeigt, zu denen wir selbst nie hin gefunden hätten, und uns so ein paar sehr schöne Stunden bereitet. Aus unserer Sicht ist ein solcher Ausflug ein absolutes Muss, das wir jedem, der die Insel besucht, nur empfehlen können. Miguel erzählt kurzweilig über verschiedene Aspekte des Lebens auf der Insel und gestaltet den Ablauf jeweils individuell, so dass man auch gut Einfluss nehmen kann. Uns hat es sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Alles in allem können wir die Unterkunft ohne Bedenken weiterempfehlen.

Special spot with gorgeous views, peace & quiet

From the moment we booked with Nyara, we knew we were about to have a great holiday. Her passion for Madeira really showed even before we arrived on this amazing island; from researching into some activities we specifically wanted to do like kayaking, arranging transport at special rates, sorting motorbike hire, to sharing local knowledge on where to eat, what to eat, how to travel around and generally explore, all tailored just for us. The apartment was clean, spacious and well appointed. It probably could do with a little modernising at some point, but it was so delightful sitting on our own balcony, listening to the waves roll in, we couldn't stop smiling the whole time. Even packed my yoga mat and thoroughly enjoyed my morning practice on the roof terrace as the sun rose over the bay - sublime! Easy reach of the pool, the beach and a fab sea lido. Loads of great restaurants within 5-10 mins walk. A super pastry shop/cafe and fruit market close. 10 mins walk to a bus stop that can take you into Funchal. All really easy. Nyara also introduced us to her partner Miguel who runs fantastic jeep tours - these are really special - don't book via any other group, as Miguel offers an authentic view of the island, from a local's perspective not the main tourist rat-runs all the other companies do. He genuinely wants you to experience all the wonders of the island, and will adapt routes according to the weather, opposed to just taking you the same way because it's easier. He stops at local cafe's with friendly islanders making local specialities - Wonderful! These guys also have some fantastic contacts for sailing trips to see whales and dolphins, with stop-offs at key secluded spots - we ran out of time to go, but again, if this is your thing, don't book with any other tour as they pack loads of people together on a larger boat and take you on a set route, whereas, Miguel's local company will only take a small number and will have you experience the island as the locals do. Like wise with the kayak company he set us up with - amazing personalised service, paddling to a protected nature reserve where we all then could snorkel. We had an amazing time, the apartment location was super, and with Nyara and Miguel who helped us experience the real Madeira, we just didn't want to leave. In fact I am already scheming to work out how to get back ... especially as Nyara mentioned she has a few apartments we can try :) Thank you for a fantastic holiday x

Easy transfer from Madeira airport on airport bus. Last stop on route and apartment 10 seconds walk from bus stop. Bus 8 euro return. Met my Niara who introduced us to Our ' home for the week' . She is absolutely delightful and gave us great advice re supermarkets, restaurants, walks , local buses. Thrilled with apartment.Loved the large balcony overlooking the sea. Calm and peaceful. 2 bathrooms were very welcome.kitchen had everything required for our nights eating in to make full use of balcony. Walked miles . West to Funchal and east to Camara de Lobos on long superb walkway. Used Giro bus ticket to go up to Monte(1 euro 50). Shared fish dishes at restaurants which was always acceptable. We found everyone so friendly and will return.

Great apartment, plenty of space, lovely balcony and separate roof terrace.

We had a lovely break, made all the more special by Niara who looked after us so well. She met us on arrival, gave us plenty of tips on the area and was available on-line with any support required. We would recommend this apartment to family and friends.

Beautiful penthouse apartment on the shore.

What a lovely property in such a beautiful location. Very comfortable and peaceful. Spend fabulous evenings sitting on the wonderful balcony watching the sunset and listening to the waves crashing on the shore. We have visited Madeira on numerous occasions and this is definately our best stay. Our stay was so enhanced by Niara who took so much trouble to help in giving us advice and guidance. She went beyond the call of duty - thank you so much Niara. We will be returning. Sarah and Mike xx

Beautiful appartment with great sea view

Very nice and warm welcome by hostess Niara! Appartment was on top floor penthouse, beautiful view from the large balcony/terass. Well equipped kitchen, clean house, large roof terras. Very close to the sea and private swimming pool. Quit enviroment and yet close to Funchal.
