¡Una verdadera experiencia de cabaña de Northwood!

Nuestra cabaña está ubicada en el lado este de Big Lake Chetac, que ofrece hermosas vistas del lago y fantásticas puestas de sol. Big Lake Chetac es conocido por su pesca y recreación acuática. Disfrute de un café por la mañana en el porche de la pantalla y una hoguera por la noche en la hoguera al lado del lago. La cabina tiene dos dormitorios, baño con ducha, sala de estar con sofá cama y chimenea de leña, sala familiar con estufa de leña y una cocina totalmente equipada. Tenemos un reproductor DirecTV / TV / DVD y una buena colección de películas, así como libros y juegos para su entretenimiento en esos momentos en los que puede alejarse del agua. Tenemos un muelle para su embarcación o para una excelente pesca. Estamos ubicados a 40 kilómetros al norte de Rice Lake y a 20 minutos al sur del famoso destino turístico de Hayward, WI. Hay senderos de 4 ruedas al final de la carretera y dos desembarcos cercanos. Esta es una acogedora cabaña para una escapada familiar o en pareja. También tenemos un pontón en alquiler. Based on our search parameters, we searched high and low for the perfect cabin and thought this was it. Lake access/view? Check! Pet friendly? Also check. We were prepared for *cabin-y* yes - but not for the neglected state we encountered. Examples: facility lacked adequate sheets/bedding for the number of people it’s supposed to sleep. A cutting board is a kitchen basic, yet there was none to be found. Had to purchase a hairdryer, though listing stated it had one (the owner kindly offered to bring one out, but had already bought). Out of the 8 deck/screen porch chairs, one was completely broken, three others leaned back to the extent they were unusable, while remaining furniture was barely adequate, certainly not comfortable. And due to no hose on the property - before using, we needed to clean by hand the four chairs/side table located in fire pit area, as well as overgrown and cobwebby surroundings there. The screens on the porch were illustrative of the general vibe at this cabin (see photos) and definitely detracted from what should have been the pleasant and calming lake view. In short, it’s our view that the listing is misleading and the property overpriced.

Cabin on the Lake

This is a cutely decorated cabin on the lake. We had a wonderful, relaxing week! Spent a lot of time on the pontoon fishing. Enjoyed time on the screened in porch overlooking the lake. Loved watching the eagles!

A location for a great getaway

Cabin was perfect for our father-son fishing trip. All the necessary amenities were provided. Rent the pontoon, it’s worth it.

Can’t beat the lake views!

Lovely setting, comfortable cabin, great communication from hosts! Loved the screened in porch and sunsets were phenomenal. We have stayed at many rental properties over the years, and this was one of the only ones I didn’t feel like we needed to clean the kitchen/dishes and disinfect surfaces before settling in. Our two small dogs loved the place and watching the chipmunks. We rented the pontoon and enjoyed cruising, fishing, and channeling to Birch Lake. Didn’t have much luck fishing. Everything was as described on the listing so we knew it wasn’t going to be fancy. I was glad we read reviews to prepare us for the small shower. Yet, the main cabin and porch was charming and more spacious than expected. We fell in love with the lake and Birchwood. Hope to make it back!

A wonderful little cabin!

Despite the fact that i ended up on crutches 2 days before our trip, it was a wonderful stay and we enjoyed every minute of it. The pontoon was awesome and we spent a great deal of time on the water. The cabin was clean and cozy. Would definitely return!

Great time

Had a wonderful time. Very relaxing and stress free. Caught more fish than we could possibly keep. We ended up catching and releasing most. We would highly recommend this cabin if you want a peaceful and relaxing getaway. Can’t forget the wildlife. Bald eagles above and deer everywhere.

Nice cabin

Nice location on the lake .was cold and rainy most of the week, so gas fireplace was great We rented the pontoon, but because of the weather didn't use it much. Fishing was tuff but we had good luck off the dock. We caught bluegill , bass ,perch, crappie and northern pike from the dock

Cabin getaway

My wife and I loved our stay along with our dog. It was a peaceful relaxing cabin on a terrific lake. Lots of fish caught and everything available with the stay. We very much appreciated our time and would love to be back !

Clean, quiet, well set up cabin

Very clean and has everything you need! Loved the screen porch so much we are going to add one to our home. The whole place has a nice open feel. Nice grill and appliances. Was a quiet week on the lake which was exactly what we wanted. Fishing was enough to keep you interested but could have been better.,. Beds were comfortable. Awesome place would definitely stay here again. Thank you for sharing your cabin Ryan and Mary!

Nice getaway with a great view of lake

Definite rustic cabin, with great view of lake from deck, kitchen nice to work in with use of grill is handy. Used the pontoon that was available but fishing was not very good while there. Downfall for us was the availability of any wi-fi or phone use which we needed, and the size of bathroom/shower is very small. We rode our ATV a lot on the local trails which was great fun.

Peaceful Getaway

We truly enjoyed our week on Lake Chetak. The location was very quiet and very peaceful and the Eagles were absolutely gorgeous. When we were not touring the lake on the Pontoon, we spent most of our time relaxing on the very peaceful screened porch or enjoying a nice bonfire. My only wish is that the cabin had Wifi. That said, we plan on returning.

Loved the campfire!

Nice peaceful setting Good access to lake The fish cleaning station was a plus. Cozy bedroom. Kitchen and eating area very workable. Loved Lake Chetac. Thanks for the pleasant stay.

Family Fun

This cabin was just what we wanted as a family! This property checked all of our boxes. It was great that we could rent a boat and have our four legged family member join us. We had perfect weather with beautiful sunsets. We had great fishing off the dock. The screened in porch was so nice to enjoy all day long. Our dog Lily lived her best life that week at the cabin.

Rustic cabin

We spent a week with the in-laws. Our days were filled with breakfast on the screen porch, fishing from the pier, pontooning and evening fires. The bathroom was a little small, the lighting a little dark, but we enjoyed every minute of it.

Cabin with a great screened porch

If you are planning to just look out at the lake and enjoy nature then this cabin will work well. We saw deer every day. Eagles landed in the trees out front every day. The sunset from the porch is incredible. If you are planning a fishing trip, then this cabin will probably work just fine. If you want to enjoy the sunshine and the water then you may be disappointed. For the most part, the only sunshine is on the side of the hill, a small portion of the deck or the very end the dock. The lake in front of this cabin is green and weedy. To swim, or for any water sports, you need to go to the center of the lake. Also, carefully consider that you are paying for a cabin with no cell phone coverage and no Internet. Not sure why the cabin does not have Internet since some of the neighboring cabins do.

We are elementary school teachers who love the Northwoods lifestyle. We both grew up in Wisconsin and love to be near the water for relaxation and recreation. We love offering our Birchwood cabin for others to enjoy. We have met so many wonderful people from WI, MI, MN, IL, IA and Canada.

When looking for a cabin, we wanted a lakeside, west-facing, charming, rustic, cozy cabin experience. We believe we found it. Our cabin is cedar sided, has knotty pine interior, and a large screened-in porch with a magnificent view of the lake. We wanted a recreational but quiet lake and we believe we found that in Big Lake Chetac.

We have been told by many people that we have an amazing, screened porch with perfect views of the lake and sunsets. We agree! Our cabin is within 25 minutes of Hayward and Rice Lake.
