Located on Big Lake Chetac you'll experience an expansive view of the lake and all its splendor. Walk right out to a private dock, enjoy a small beach or bring your paddleboard or canoe. Also enjoy 40 acres of woodland with trails, a creek, and a few picnic areas. We have added air conditioning toour cabin so you can enjoy warm days .Access to snowmobile trails (Tuscobia), cross-country skiing, the Ice Age Trail, and miles of all-terrain vehicle trails.

Up north vacation

Summer getaway

The cabin was the perfect spot for a little getaway, peaceful lake with great views from the cabin. Everything you needed and more was there and available to use. We enjoyed our stay and our kids enjoyed all the catches from the dock they had fishing.

Nice Getaway

Check in was easy! Linda and John are great! Beautiful lake house and comfortable. Sunsets were amazing! Our boys were hoping there was better fishing, but they enjoyed the campfires next to the lake. Plenty of space for parking trucks and boats. Boat landing is close to the property. Would recommend staying here to relax or enjoy a weekend get away with the family.

Great Cabin

The hosts provided a clean and beautiful cabin for our family to use. It had everything we needed for our stay and is located on a fishing and recreational boating lake. We were able to bring our boat and a private dock was available for us to use. The boat launch is very close as well. We definitely would book here again!

Excellent lakeshore getaway!

We really enjoyed staying at the cabin for a long weekend. It is very clean and comfortable with a wonderful view. We brought kayaks and had a great time exploring the lake. The hosts are very friendly, helpful, and did a great job of communicating about our stay. I highly recommend a stay here and would love to go back in the future.

North woods cabin

Lovely cabin! An amazing view of the lake, clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated; a home away from home! The cabin had everything you needed and the owner was friendly and very willing to help with all of your needs, a wonderful host! We would suggest this cabin/home for your next stay at Big Lake Chetac:)

Quiet & beautiful

We stayed there while attending a family wedding in the area. It's a lovely cozy home set up for comfort and convenience. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. We had a great time at the wedding festivities and this place offered us a quiet, beautiful place to rest and recover before we headed out for more. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Birchwood Summer 2025

The property is absolutely beautiful and was very clean. The property is right next to the public boat landing which made it very easy to unload our boat before unloading the truck. The property owners were there when we arrived and were able to show us where to park the boat trailer. The Hosts were amazing and provided insight to the area which were helpful for our stay. Linda went above and beyond for my family by bringing over a couple of outdoor games for us to play when we were out on the boat.

As the home owner not the lake owner we have no control of the algae bloom or Mother Nature … we always mention other spots on the three lake chain to swim and it is in our booklet for each renter …

Wonderful place!

We had a wonderful long weekend! The house is bright, sunny and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. We loved the views onto the lake where had some lovely skiing and the stove was great to cozy up to after playing outside in the cold. Our host Linda was very responsive and accommodating. We hope to be back again, it was great in the winter and I am sure it's wonderful in the summer. We highly recommend!

Beautiful home

The home was very nice and well cared for. The owners of the home share a driveway with this home, so if you need them they are close by. We had some minor issues with ants and housekeeping and low water pressure in the main shower, but all in all it was a beautiful property.

Not one thing about our stay could have been better. Been renting at VRBO for years and have never come across more delightful owners. Location was my favorite!! Beautiful views of the lake. Had several questions and they were all answered instantly. Cannot wait to go back and stay here again!!!!!

Comfortable and clean

Beautiful home and loved the views. Linda and John were very accommodating and friendly. Home was well stocked. Just bring your clothes and food and relax. Definitely recommend to family and friends. Hope to be back next year.

Relaxing weekend on the lake

We had a great stay at the lake! Photos and description are accurate and the property was very clean and well appointed. Linda was a great host...very responsive in the booking process and then checked-in with us to confirm arrival. There are beautiful views of the lake and area was quiet and relaxing. There is a bar and restaurant at the campground about 1/2 mile down the road and other places in town (about a 10 minutes) for dinner. The house has a full kitchen and there is a grill if you want to eat-in. We recommend this place without reservation.

First time using VRBO

Our family's first time using VRBO and the host did a magnificent job making us feel right at home. Linda and John had everything we ever needed, even had a nice pile of firewood for our use. The house and views were beautiful. The fish cleaning house was a great extra. My boys had a blast catching fish right off this properties dock, also Linda allowed them to fish off her personal dock. I can't say enough good things about our stay here.

Here Fishy Fishy

If your looking for a great place to stay with a great lake to fish. John and Linda Pole are wonderful hosts, cabin is clean, well stocked kitchen, clean gas grill, extra bath towels if needed, 2 bedroom 2 bath, a very clean comfortable cozy cabin. 2nd time staying at this cabin. Cabin is just steps away from the lake, with a beautiful view of the sunset overlooking the lake. Newer dock to tie up the boat. Its a perfect getaway that gets 5 stars
